Glad to have you back, Juri! I will post back to you either later tonight or tomorrow - most likely tomorrow. I am pretty run down today.Juramenta wrote: ↑Thu May 29, 2025 8:30 pm Hello everyone,
Happy to share that I am feeling well again. They never really figured out what was wrong with me, only that none of the antibiotics seemed to do anything, but the important thing is that I recovered. I just posted in the private channel to Chary for the talk with Basil, because I do not need to read up on everything with that scene.
I will read up on everything I missed in all of the games and use this weekend to jump back into all of them.

Hola, mis compadres. Greetings fronds and anemones. I *will* be on here every day or so to keep up and play out my role scenes but am a ****teeensy**** bit stressed at work right now and maybe not at my best for pushing story forward. We have an ongoing state audit/inspection cycle with a new agent who, if she was any more thorough would have our blood types and maternal haplogroups in the files. Suffice to say I am going to be be highly stressed and pushing long hours for at least a few weeks, knowing full well this has already tripped me having a complex autoimmune flareup.
Please wish me more brain, less pain, and for all my people to "roll well on their skill checks"
The horrors persist but so do I, for now.

Apologies all for my absence. Kept putting off reading for so long my head thought it'd be even more work than it actually was to get caught up.

Okay, last call for El Cid, Pacman, Revs, and Skye. If you want to do anything before Ace gets up in the morning, let me know. I will post in the morning to advance time that far... The rest of the afternoon, evening, and night. (Ace crashed early.) He will be waking around 6 AM.
Headstone and BB, I am guessing Headstone has some things to share with BB. Then let me know what you intend to do from about mid-afternoon until 6 AM.
In character for all of you, please!

OOC: My Posting Will Be Slow
Hoi, chummers,
I just wanted to let everyone know that I am having cataract and lens replacement surgery this Monday (6/9). I will have the same on my right eye next Monday (6/16). I will also have several follow up appointments with my eye doctor and a retina specialist. The average time off for this is 2-3 days after surgery, but I may have floaters and halos and stuff for up to 6 months. Anyway, I tend to heal slowly, so it may be a little longer than that.
To make this long story shorter, I will probably be very slow in posting for the next 3 weeks.
Wish me luck.
I am terrified. (Yes, I know it's completely irrational. This is an extremely easy surgery. My surgeon is one of the best in the state... It doesn't matter. I have had an irrational fear of going blind since I was about 8 years old... So, my brain weasels are having a field day.)

Good luck!
My mum had her lenses replaced for cataracts about 18 months ago, done about a month apart. She also hates anything to do with eyes and is a very anxious person. For what it's worth she said the procedure was uncomfortable maybe but not unpleasant. The brain weasels don't give a fig about rationality.

Yeah, one of my friends had it done, and he said that it was the best thing ever and he kicks himself for not doing it sooner...
The nurse said they would be giving me some sort of med to relax me. (Because I told her I couldn't imagine being able to stand being awake while they do it)... I hope they are really good drugs.

From conversations with Chary, it sounds like it went well.

Re: OOC2: More Things You Can't Say in Game
The surgery went well. My usual eye doctor said everything looks good. Everything is still very blurry, and it sort of looks like the letters are swimming. So reading and writing are a real challenge. My left is seeing better, but it is still a little foggy. The doctor says that is because of the swelling. He said that was a little more than usual because my cataract was so thick and the surgeon had to make an extra incision to correct my astigmatism. My doctor says my vision will improve as the swelling goes down.
Plus, it is weird because now my left eye sees better without my glasses, but my right eye sees better with them. Overall, though, wearing them is better than not. It should be better once I get my right eye done next week.
I am a lot less stressed about getting the other eye done.
But even this much writing is making me queasy... So no real posting for a while yet. Sorry.

Glad to hear it went well. You worry about resting your eye(s) and healing properly, we'll still be here.

I get my right eye surgery tomorrow. The doctor says this one will probably heal faster than my left eye. It might even heal first despite being done a week later. <fingers crossed> Maybe I can be posting again mid to late in the week.
