Heading Out {Headstone and Revs}

Revs comes to a stop and applies the parking brake.

Revs checks the fuel gauge to make sure it's full as expected, then winds down the window "Thanks Jimmie, see you in three days."

{GM}

The fuel gauge reads full.

Jimmie waves back, a bit surprised Revs is still talking with her. “In three then,” she says, hitting the button again. The garage door starts to close.

Headstone settles into the passenger seat and pulls the door shut with a firm click. Turning toward Revs, he wastes no time getting to the point.
“There’s a change of plans, chummer. You’ve got a big decision to make and I’ll give you the ride over to mull it over.” he says as he pauzes for a moment to make he has Revs full attention.

“Once we stash the van, I’m taking you back to HQ. After that, I’ll hit the stores solo. Here’s why. While I was poking around the junkyard, I had time to do some thinking and I’ve made a call. I’m stepping down, not from shadowrunning, but from leading this crew. I’ll still keep the base locked down tight and handle its security, but all other leadership decisions are passing to the next in line. And I want that person to be you.”
He pauses, letting the weight of his words settle in Revs mind.
“You’ve got the drive, the skill, and you know how to handle biz without losing respect. You don’t have to answer me now, take the time of the ride to think it through. If you’re not feelin’ it, I’ll bring it to Pacman instead. So there is no pressure to accept. If you do accept, I will send a message to all informing them of the change in lead and will let them know you have my full backing in every decision you make.”

By the look on Revs face he was caught completely by surprise. "That's some big news, I'll really need to think about it. So your going to be staying back as base, not joining us n the run?"

{Headstone}

''Oh no my chummer, I will be with you all the way. The shopping is just to take a breather and well, a little something on the side. No, I'm just taking a step back from decision making. Just point me into the direction you want and I will handle whatever needs to be done. Headstone explains.

{Revs}

"I'm glad you'll still be running with us, omae. OK, let me think about it. I'll see you back at the garage."

[Juramenta]

{Headstone}

Headstone nods and gets out.
They drive back to the garage.
Revs in the van, Headstone on his bike.

Despite the extremely high Lone Star activity, Headstone and Revs make it to the garage without any complications.

He opens up the garage door so Revs can ride in.
Leaving his bike waiting outside.

Revs drives in and parks up and then heads over to his bike.

Before heading off to the stores, he waits for Revs.
Wondering what his decision will be.

{Revs}

Revs wheels his bike over to Headstone

"What you said in the van, it's flattering, and I appreciate you asking me first...but all I want to do is be a rigger, all the other stuff, it'll just get in the way."

[Juramenta]

{Headstone}

Headstone sighs followed by a nod.
''I understand'' as he places his hand on Revs his left shoulder for a second.

''I'll ask Pacman to take over, at least for the time being. Let him set up the plan with the rest of the team to take Ace in. We'll see how it goes from there.'' he says as he takes out his secretary and makes the call to Pacman.

Headstone stares at the screen as it’s waiting for a connection.
Wishful thinking wasn’t it? he says with a resigned chuckle as he stares at the screen, ending the unanswered call as he comes to the realisation he won’t be getting away from it all that easily.
Instead of waiting for a call back, he decides to send a message to the entire crew:
- Message to Umberoo
Revs is arriving at HQ in a few minutes. I’m still out, gathering prep gear with the funds we’ve got. He’s coming back loaded with intel and I’m sure you’ve pulled together a heap of your own.
Please convene in the meeting room to hash out all findings.

Once I’m back, we’ll hold the final sit-down before it’s go time. I will lead that meeting, but won’t be part of decision making. So there is no need for me to be present now. I will back whatever plan of execution is made, no complaints.
The final meeting will be fast, to the point and above all: All decisions made will be final.
After that, all eyes will be focused on execution only. I will make haste to return to HQ.

Headstone-

He gazes at Revs and gives him a wrly smile.
’’I'll talk it over with him after the run. Life happens, drek happens. We accept and adjust.’’ he says to Revs even if its clear he is speaking to himself. He waits in case Revs has anything to add before driving off.

{Revs}

Revs can tell that Headstone is disappointed.

"Sorry, it's just not my thing. I'll see you at the HQ later."

He puts on his helmet and heads to the HQ.

[Juramenta]

''Maybe not now, but there is a leader hidden inside you, chummer.'' he responds as he gives a nod of acceptance.
He rides off as well.
