Night of the Walking Dead
Night of the Walking Dead
Here will be the main thread for our game. More to come before Monday
"I drained the soul of a monk once....... It tasted like Chocolate."
Re: Night of the Walking Dead
You travel the swamp on a raft, using a pole.
Night settles over the swamp, cloaking the dense undergrowth in darkness and turningthe water's surface to black.
With it, comes a clinging, creeping fog, rising from the water like spectral steam. The fog surrounds
you, its dampness caressing you like cold, dead hands. The swamp seems to retreat from the mists,
its sights and sounds disappearing into some unseen distance. All that remains visible is the cold,
choking fog. Even your companions seem far away. For a moment, everything is quiet. What few sounds
you can hear are amplified by the surrounding mists: your own breathing, your beating heart.
Then the fog begins to dissipate, fading away as quickly as it appeared, leaving you and your
companions alone in the dismal swamp.
Proceed

Atar
The massive Half Orc poles the raft along, scanning about with his infravision.
Talking softly. "If anyone sees a good spot to spend the night, let me know."

Fendt looking around and finally exhaling after passing the mist says "Anywhere is better than that cell i was held in. Being kidnapped was no picnic. I think sleeping in the wilderness would be a nice change."

Tango scans all about them, keeping his eyes peeled from under his hood and his ears open to any noises that may stand out. He holds his cloak around him to stave off the chill.
Are we surrounded by foliage, dense trees and such? Detect Noise roll if it helps any: Thief Ability %: [1d100] = 17 = 17%

We are in a swamp. I don't expect we'll find much in the way of a good place to rest, but I'll keep looking.

On November 2nd I will be participating in another 24 hour game of Dungeons & Dragons as part of Extra Life. This organization uses gaming to help raise money to donate to children's hospitals. I'm raising money for Marshfield Children's Hospital in Marshfield, WI, and all money I raise will go to that hospital. All donations are tax-deductible. Tango looks down in to the blackness of the water below them, "This raft just may be one of the more safer places."

Re: Night of the Walking Dead
Tango watches the clouds roll in menacingly. He redoubles his cloak's security about him. "Looks like a storm's coming. We'd better find some shelter quickly."

Atar
"Any port in a storm my friend."
Atar will try for the nearest shelter, perhaps a big tree they can lash the raft to.

Fendt looks around for anything resembling a port or land to dock at.

Re: Night of the Walking Dead
You travel through the mists and swamp. Sometimes you think you are
going in the right direction, others not so much. One thing is for damned sure. You are not anywhere you've
been before.

Swamp noises make you downright nervous. A sound here , a splash in the swamp there. That isn't counting the
storm that keeps brewing.
A log here or there touch against the raft or pole, passing by, making you jump or nervous. A frog or who knows what
croaks in the distance.

Tango readies his bow and notches an arrow keeping two watchful eyes on the shadows.

Re: Night of the Walking Dead
Fendt tries to keep his calm in the swamp even though he is more comfortable in the forest he un slings his bow and nocks and arrow preparing for the worst but continues to silently watch and look for a place to land the raft to leave the swamp.
