Maskelyn
Maskelyn watches from the lip of the crevasse, pacing and fidgeting. If he sees any sign of Slimy, he'll call a warning.

Realm of the Slime God, Forbidden Island of Xygax the Wizard, Land of One Thousand Towers
Nightfall. Sunday, April 15th, 912 CY

Image

In the blighted domain of the Slime God, under cover of night, the adventurers creep toward the towering precipice of the vast, slime-coated impact crater of the fallen star!

Draupadi and Mungo dare descend into it on ropes. Both are nearly blind from darkness by the time they reach its deep-shadowed bottom.

Suddenly, before Mungo can begin his holy ritual of warding, from out of the riven crevasse below comes the wet gurgling of the hideous Slime God! (at "!") In the direction of the spine-tingling sound, Mungo's mole-vision detects no warmth!

"Wait... if it's down in that hole, and we seal up the hole... why would we need to seal the other doors? What if there are other exits from down there? Don't we want to call it up here, then seal it in this cave? In which case, we'd call it out, run to an exit and seal it, then run around to the other exit, sneak back in, seal this hole, then run for the exit again and seal it? It seems complicated..." says Fiefo, a puzzled look on his rat-face. "I'm not good at planning."

Maskelyn
Maskelyn zips down the rope and hurries to edge of the hole. He doesn't hesitate, but casts Darkness over the opening Sphaera tenebrarum! Afterward, he scrambles back up the rope.

Inferno: I know this may take multiple rounds. Maskelyn is working as quickly as he can.

Mungo
By Wells and Verne, something ugly this way comes! And I'm pretty sure we all have a pretty good guess what it is! The septuagenarian moleman works on creating and completing the magical glyph as quickly as possible. It's a symbol of a holy earthworm forming a sacred spiral. He'd like to add more details, such as the band thing earthworks have and the rings around the body-- but there's no time! He chants,
In brightest day,
In blackest night,
No evil shall escape thy sight.
Let those who worship evil's might
Beware thy power…
Glyph of Warding's light!

For some reason the cleric gets a brief mental image of a lantern. A green one.
If there's time, Mungo sets the glyph to block evil alignment characters only.

Realm of the Slime God, Forbidden Island of Xygax the Wizard, Land of One Thousand Towers
Nightfall. Sunday, April 15th, 912 CY

Image

In the darkness, Mungo chants the sacred prayer of Hell Jhor D’Ann, inscribed for all time upon the holy illuminated manuscripts of an esoteric and nigh-heretical sect of Vernes and Wells.

Meanwhile, Maskelyn rides the rope down as Draupadi strikes a torch.

Its blazing light suddenly reveals the gigantic bloated eye of the Slime God, peering through the crevasse!

Image

Mungo completes the warding, magically sealing the crater-rift against all trespass!

The Slime God seemingly recognizes the glyph, perhaps recalling the one that had imprisoned it for its intergalactic descent.

Image

Then the vast, bubbling immensity from another world gurgles, "I am the God of all slime, including you alien things of mucilaginous innards. You must obey me. Now erase that glyph."

(Mungo, please Save vs Spells to resist. Wisdom modifiers count. Good luck!)

From the distance, Finver's dwarven face is frozen in astonishment. He struggles at first with mumbling but eventually the dwarf is able to articulate the Moleman cleric's chant phrase by phrase responsively:
In brightest day...
In blackest night...
No evil shall escape yer sight.
Let those who worship evil's might...
Beware yer power…
Glyph of Warding's light!

He moves cautiously towards the edge (at half normal speed

Mungo feels the slime god attempting to invade his mind, but its sorcery is no match for moleman pure pigheadedness. His short legs carry him as quickly as they can to the rope. Much obliged, Draupadi, I'll go first then. He climbs up to the surface. Where to next?

Nightfall. Sunday, April 15th, 912 CY

Mungo resists the insidious psionic call of the Slime God to share unholy communion!

Then Maskelyn summons a veil of darkness, mercifully hiding its great, bulbous eye!

Draupadi, Maskelyn and Mungo take hold of the rope and, at Fiefo's urging, their friends pull them out of the vast impact crater of the fallen star! The adventurers race around the blighted mound that houses the caverns of the Slime God, moving toward the nearest cave mouth, the northern one!

As it appears in Draupadi's torchlight, suddenly, the gigantic twin horrors from the slime pit (S1, S2) emerge from its black maw!
