Congrats, Starbeard!
Sometimes this summer I will most likely be participating in another 24 hour game of Dungeons & Dragons as part of Extra Life. This organization uses gaming to help raise money to donate to children's hospitals. I'm raising money for Marshfield Children's Hospital in Marshfield, WI, and all money I raise will go to that hospital. All donations are tax-deductible. Please take a moment to check out my donation page below. Thank you.

It is Virtual Gamehole Con this weekend, and I'm signed up for 52 hours of online gaming starting tomorrow (although no marathon game this year), so I will probably not be back on here until Monday.

Re: Wanderings (ooc and questions ll)
Thanks everyone, and have fun Scott! That sounds like a marathon worthy of the annals.
Re: Wanderings (ooc and questions ll)
That's three days, and I have enough replies to move the action along.
Re: Wanderings (ooc and questions ll)
The baby came early Friday. Tiny little guy, not even 6 lbs, but healthy and hungry. "Henry Elliot Oswald" in full, though we're at an impasse over which name he'll go by: I want Oswald, she wants Elliot, and the grandparents want Henry. My plan is to stubbornly stick with Oz until the others give up and fall into line.

Re: Wanderings (ooc and questions ll)
Eh, this was easy. It was actually a lighter year than normal. I had a three hour break scheduled on Friday so I could play Würm with friends, and had two days that didn't start until 9 am. I normally pack my day 8 am- midnight but there were a few games I really wanted to play that prevented the full schedule. Plus, I actually got to sleep at night this year. Last year truly was a marathon- I played through the entire Descent into Avernus hardcover in one 40 hour stretch, besting my previous long for a single game session of a measly 25 hours. We raised a lot of money for Extra Life in the process. Unfortunately, because of Covid we didn't have a marathon this year.
I don't like coffee, so none of that. I alternated Coke Zero and Gatorade with an occasional beer at night. I have a portable fridge that holds six cans, so I plugged that in by the computer so I wouldn't have to leave the basement just to get a Coke, and I brought my bag of Flamin' Hot chips, a paper plate, and paper towel down so I could snack (plus a bunch of leftover Halloween candy)...it was actually a pretty sweet setup!
I played a lot of fun games, but I did drop out of a game for the first time at a con. I signed up to play Star Trek: The Next Generation on Sunday. I don't like Star Trek and don't know much about it other than I did watch Next Generation in college and enjoyed it. That was not enough knowledge, unfortunately. I told the GM I don't know Star Trek so didn't know what the pregen character races were. He responded by telling me about a specific Kirk-era episode when I JUST TOLD HIM I DON'T KNOW IT! I picked the assistant medical officer and then googled only to discover it was what Deanna Troi was. That I would have understood! Anyway, lots of exposition telling what happened before (apparently his games were all linked and he felt we needed to know what happened previously).
When we started, my character was in the med bay doing medical stuff. Then they spent a bunch of time with characters on the bridge (everyone but me) making plans to go rescue the ship that was under attack, gearing up, running scans and talking to other ships. Nobody sought out the medical officer. I didn't say anything. I didn't roll dice. I could have gone to the bridge just because, even though I didn't have any reason to do so, but I wasn't going to do that. I still wouldn't have had anything to do there, anyway. I typed a note that the game wasn't for me and dropped out. It most likely would have been different if we were sitting at a table and the GM could see me, but I think I just shouldn't have signed up. I typically avoid licensed IPs I'm not familiar with (Firefly, Dr. Who) no matter how popular they are, but I figured I knew enough TNG well enough to get by. Not the case. Combine that with my character's inactivity and I had had enough.

Thanks for the update, Scott. Appreciate it.
Sorry, Old Duergar. That's three and a half days. Onward!

Sorry Old Duergar, Raven, Socratic and Starbeard. That's three and a half days. I know RL is crazy right now. Pushing it along.
Re: Wanderings (ooc and questions ll)
Hey everyone. I hope you're well.
We're at three and a half days.
Big decisions are infamous for stalling out a game. Small decisions too. So normally I go with the will of the majority and move it right along. Unfortunately, there's no majority yet. Here's the tally, near as I can tell:
Some PCs have also deferred the decision to the two dwarves, who are evenly split.
So I'll extend the turn to allow for some IC roleplaying opportunities as we await consensus.
Thanks.

Follow the smoke to Smaug: Elbenwin, Folco, Gilly.
Search the lost dwarf-city: Elbenarin, Glasik, Therone.
No preference stated: Rumil.
No post yet: Naruthirdor, Tinuwen, Vindo.

Re: Wanderings (ooc and questions ll)
Well, since Amon Amarth is one of my favorite bands, and this is one of my favorite songs by them, maybe facing the dragon and risking this should be the appropriate choice, instead of searching the halls.ravenn4544 wrote: ↑Tue Nov 17, 2020 11:24 pm Elbenarin "It is found. Rumil is leaning to fighting the dragon as well.
