Wanderings (ooc and questions ll)
Re: Wanderings (ooc and questions ll)
I am heading into the woods for some much needed camping/hunting. This will be through the 25th and every weekend through mid-December. I will update as more weekdays get added later on. I may be able to check in once or twice depending on how things go but don't count on it. Feel free to NPC my character so I don't slow things down.
Thanks and good gaming,
Rex

Thanks Inferno!
Re: Wanderings (ooc and questions ll)
Sorry, Old Duergar, Scott and Socratic. That's three and a half days. Onward.

Sorry Old Duergar, Scott and wolfpack. That's three and a half days.
Scott, please post an intended action.
Raven, yes, you needed to close last round.
Socratic, the troll is now in melee. Any arrows targeting him will count as "firing a missile into a melee" as per the DMG.
Thanks everyone.

He's beautifully hideous. Tolkien was really underrated as a horror writer.
Ogre Mage, by your thoughtful, thorough branching of if/then statements, I can tell you're a fellow DM.
And this one made me laugh:
Great posts everyone. I hope you're all doing well.

Hey, Duergar and Socratic. It's been three and a half days. I suspect you're caught in the unforgiving jaws of RL. Sorry. Wishing you well.
Scott, please post an intended action.
Starbeard and wolfpack, please continue to make an Ability Check vs Wisdom on 1d20, once per round, until you regain free will.
Thanks everyone. Have a great night.

Happy Halloween!

Good to see you back and on the mend, Old Duergar.
Bless can't be cast after combat commences. However, you've been sick, and Naruthirdor hadn't taken any actions while I was NPCing him. I can't retcon that he cast it 4 rounds ago, because I don't want to re-adjudicate all those PC rolls. But I will allow its use now, in this specific case.

In my Lovecraft D&D horror game, we used to joke that the dice roller was cursed because of the tone of the subject matter. Here, the roller is clearly blessed, in keeping with Tolkien.

Thank you for taking exception on this, Inferno. It was my first thought when combat erupted! Fair and good call, imho.Inferno wrote: ↑Sun Nov 01, 2020 4:01 pm Good to see you back and on the mend, Old Duergar.

Hey Inferno. We're having a our second on Thursday, several weeks early (everything seems fine, just an unexpected induced delivery to avoid further risks resulting from high blood pressure). Please NPC Vindo for the next week (maybe two) while I get everything sorted.

A week or two, huh? Let me guess. This is your first second?
Congratulations. That's awesome! Wishing you and your family all the best, Starbeard.
Re: Wanderings (ooc and questions ll)
Yeah, we don't so much joke about it anymore. More like gnash our teeth and curse bitterly at the distant, uncaring gods.
Re: Wanderings (ooc and questions ll)
You always know the right thing to say!
I will definitely be out of commission, but since this game is only two little posts a week, I'm aiming high and hoping to poke my head in after a couple of weeks out.

Congrats! The second is so much easier than the first. Mostly. Except when they become teenagers. That's why we don't have nice things - pets and teenagers.
Your First: OMG don't put that in your mouth!
Your Second: You want to play in traffic? Have fun! Don't be late for dinner!
