I have lots of work to catch up with, so I'm looking forward to a few rather busy days...
but I'll try to catch up with my character burning as well! Sorry for the delay.

Hey everybody, happy to join!

I'll be reading over everything throughout the week and ruminating on what sort of dwarf I'd like to run. Hopefully I'll be up on how BW works enough to put forward a character draft over the weekend.

Awesome! Looking forward to what you come up with. :) Concepts are still pretty wide open. We (oddly) have no miners or craftsmen yet. I would love to see someone break 170 years and have survived the last dragon-caused exodus. :)

170 is pretty hard to hit with only 4 life paths.

and If you think my character is too close to Dogma's, then I can rework a new character.

Hi guys,

So yeah, ima be an elf because I am a special snowflake!

No in reality, as I mentioned, I am just not a big fan of dwarves in any setting. (I know SHUN THE NON-BELIEVER!)

I also am REALLY new to Lord of the Rings lore, so bare with me as I struggle. If I make a boo boo, please don't feel bad in correcting me, I am happy to make sure everything is canon and I don't mess anything up.

Looking forward to playing this. I've joined 2 other PbP games that just stopped updating, haven't heard from both games in over a month, so hopefully this can be a long running game we'll all enjoy.

Since you asked for corrections: "bare" with me is a proposition to get naked. "Bear" with me is a plea to be patient. ;) (Being a female in a male-dominated hobby, such a typo is practically begging for lewd commentary.)

I have never played a dwarf before. They don't really speak to me either, but I figure it is time to try it out. My first thought was an idiot named "Dimli," but I decided to play my older brother as a dwarf. (Seriously.)

It is a bummer when games stop. To not know what happens to the haracter you have created... Marullus seems to be a dedicated PbPer, so hopefully that won't happen here!

Welcome aboard starbeard! I loved your wizard, Braisen-what's-his-name, in A Flickering Light. Can't wait to see what you come up with.

True. Born --> (any trade) --> Husband --> Greybeard is the only clear way I see to do it. But that could be fun.

I did consider letting Tolkien-age be adjusted for dwarves as I did for elves, if it helps the story. Thoughts?

I think they work. The only concern I have is about "Sole Survivor of the City Guard" which is sharply limiting and does impact his concept, too. Can we re-word it to be "of the Battle of the Gate"? If not, then it means there's more units in the Dwarven Host.

I can rework it to be more open, Sole survivor of Gate Guard unit or something of that sort. And I believe a dwarven host will be made of many units.

Thanks! And welcome, FantasyChic. I wouldn't worry too much about your knowledge of Middle-earth: compared to some of the other big events from the Middle-earth stories, the setting for this particular campaign doesn't have a lot of detail written about it (maybe that's one reason Marullus chose it?).

Haha, thanks Rusty. Raizenbrayne was a whole lot of fun to play. I had a good time with Torchbearer, so I'm looking forward to this. I really enjoyed how the mechanics were designed so that there were times where you actually wanted to play up the flaws of your characters and get them into trouble.

Hi, y'all

I'm excited to get to play with you guys. I'm a bit of a n00b, but I had a lot of help from Spectreman17 who wanted me to give him a shoutout because he royally screwed up someone's character sheet. He's sorry.

Anyways, hi, can't wait for this. :)

You are already acquitting yourself well. :) Welcome!

I am glad to see most characters coming together. We have Beliefs then some finishing touches, for most.

Yeah, was my sheet that got screwed up (though not as drastic as was said).

I'm all done I believe. Looking forward to starting.
