Hello forum members new and old. My warmest greetings to you all.
I have been self exiled from the forum for a few months while I re-energise my creative soul and de-stress from various real life conflicts. It is so nice to be back and peruse the many threads again and see how so many great campaigns continue and watch new games start.
For myself, I will take a few weeks to draw my Barrowmaze to a conclusion with a round up of threads and character story arcs. Part of me considers a genuine reboot but while I was away I got enthused reading through an old Dungeon Masters Guide (3.5 II) and some urban based modules and was inspired to consider creating a new campaign set in the iconic sea swept haven of Saltmarsh.
Figuring players take on the role of Thieves Guild novices and from lowly rogue apprentice levels, challenge them to become gang leaders running their own protection rackets, become smugglers, pirates and black marketeers; master forgers, locksmiths, bank robbers, relic hunters, artefact acquisitioners, bandits, most wanted, highwaymen, Godfathers, cat burglars, kidnappers, bounty hunters and whatever creative expression of 'robbing the rich to feed yourself' might entail ...
I am still mulling details, but I don't want to limit characters to just being thieves as the urban, wilderness and marine setting can lend itself to all races and classes.
So, just putting this out here to test the waters and gauge interest in a D&D campaign set against the Saltmarsh background.

Nice to hear from you - I would be interested..

I enjoyed the Barrowmaze challenges. Would be great to see the conclusion or continuation.
Starting afresh sounds good especially if that is your focus and enthusiasm.
Count me in to be a wannabe pirate or 'medieval mafioso' brigand.

Very fond memories of Barrowmaze. Definitely interested!

I enjoyed playing Wrathbone and would be happy to have another incarnation of him in another realm. Maybe even carry on where he left off?

Hey! I'd be interested! Don't usually get to play villains (well, except when I'm DMing!). It'd be cool to play one.

Good to see you back in the saddle, Kris!
While I am considering a late summer hiatus, I am definitely interested in a Saltmarsh game.

Thanks for the interest expressed. I will certainly move forward with my planning. These next couple of weeks I need devote to conclude my other unresolved posts and then I will look to get a setting & background in order. So, just putting this out here to test the waters and gauge interest in a D&D campaign set against the Saltmarsh background.
Do ask any questions here in the meantime and look out for further news.
