OOC banter and substance

Hi!

This thread will be what it says on the label, including discussions of rules, rulings, personal schedules, character creation, etc.

First substance: yes @silifi you can have scalpels, but let's not think of them as a reflavoring of a dagger. Scalpels are far more delicate and precise, not suited for melee combat. On the other hand, or hands, you have a crowbar (1 hand, 1 Strain, +1 to combat) or a shovel (2 hands, 2 Strain, +2 to combat). Your total current Strain is 10 not 9, bc the shovel is bulky. But also more useful than the crowbar, for some purposes.

Makes sense to me! What cost should I use for the scalpels then?

I think that a "specialty tool" like scalpels should be the same price as lockpicks. 5s.

Let's talk "leveling up" and "luck".

A rule I've tried in other Goons-ish games is to implement a combo "luck" and "level' die. It starts at 1 and ticks up by 1 each time you make a roll. You can swap it for any die you roll. E.g., if you roll ⚀⚅ and have a ⚂ luck die, you can swap to have a roll of ⚂⚅ and a ⚀ luck die. If the luck die is at ⚅ and would tick up, you can keep it there or choose to reset it to ⚀ and "level up".

When you level up, you add +1 to any stat or +2 to Max Strain.

Currently, Rhul is at ⚃ and Etul is at ⚂ on the luck die.
