Cargo Manifest & Finances
Let's keep the cargo and passenger manifest up to date in here. Otherwise, I'm going to forget what you have aboard...and so are you.

Continuing Expenses and Business Timeline
There are Continuing Expenses that are paid monthly (or two weeks, ie. per jump) that you must keep in mind. These can vary from system to system, but these are the standard rates to plan for:
Fuel:
Minimum Monthly Salaries (if you pay them, and you haven't decided that yet):
Position Skill Level Salary
Pilot Pilot-1 Cr6,000
Navigator Navigator1 Cr5,000
Engineer Engineer-1 Cr4.000
Steward Steward-0 Cr3,000
Medic Medic-1 Cr2,000
Gunner Gunner-1 Cr1,000
Crew members who have skill levels greater than that shown are generally paid an additional 10% per skill level
greater than 1.
Working Passage: Maximum three jumps at no salary but room and board. Must have requisite skill for position.
Business Timeline
Fuel:
Cr100 per ton for unrefined fuel; Cr500 per ton for refined fuel. Fuel may be purchased at starports. Free from gas giant skim or dipping from oceans. You need 20 tons per jump.
Life Support: Cr2000 per crew member, high, or middle passenger per trip (two weeks). Cr100 per low passenger. You can stretch it, but there will be a -2DM on a wellness roll (flat 8+) for every week you go over the two weeks.
Maintenance: One-tenth of one percent (0.1%) of cash price of ship per year, for annual overhaul. In your case that's Cr24,000 a month (288,000 per year, with Day 1 being the day you need to do the maintenance).
Berthing Costs: Approximately Cr100 to land and remain six days. Cr100 per day for each additional day. This will vary a lot with the higher level Star Ports typically charging more.
Minimum Monthly Salaries (if you pay them, and you haven't decided that yet):
Position Skill Level Salary
Pilot Pilot-1 Cr6,000
Navigator Navigator1 Cr5,000
Engineer Engineer-1 Cr4.000
Steward Steward-0 Cr3,000
Medic Medic-1 Cr2,000
Gunner Gunner-1 Cr1,000
Crew members who have skill levels greater than that shown are generally paid an additional 10% per skill level
greater than 1.
Working Passage: Maximum three jumps at no salary but room and board. Must have requisite skill for position.
Business Timeline
- Day 1: Land and go through Port Procedures, pay fees, arrange for stay in Port. Deliver Freight and get paid. Disembark passengers. Hire a Broker.
- Day 2: Sell any spec cargos you want to sell here (can use Broker here).
- Day 2: Solicit Freight and Passengers for your next Destination with a notice to the Comm System/Newspaper/Job Board depending upon Tech Level.
- Day 2, 3, 4: Cargo Master (Donovan), and up to two "assistants", look for cargo to buy here. One roll for the Master and one roll for any assistant if you spend most of your time looking for Cargo. One roll, only, if you "have an adventure" that takes up days of time here in this system.
- Day 5: Buy any cargos you find and decide to buy (can use Broker here). Accept Freight and Passenger bookings.
- Day 6: Take on Freight and Passengers to be delivered to future destinations.
- Day 7: Load Freight and Passengers, refuel, and depart.

Re: Cargo Manifest & Finances
Does this include what was found when we got the ship? I went into the wayback machine to dig this up.
I'll admit I forgot about this as I wasn't the one doing the searching so long ago. I'll post this in the main thread so we can at least look through this stuff. Who knows what might be in there?Carlos opens the safe and gets distracted for a few minutes! The first thing he sees inside is a stack of credit notes, a pretty large stack! A careful count and he is looking at Cr43847 in various denominations of Imperial notes.
Going back to the safe he also finds 3 large manila-style envelopes inside.
The first envelope has Aden Contacts scrawled on the outside and inside are a few pages containing names and addresses for Brokers, Bankers, Manufacturers, Officials and Others on Aden along with notes on who has good deals, who to avoid, who is open to bribes and so on.
The second envelope is much thicker and has Imperial Contacts scrawled on it and contains the same sort of thing the other had, only on several Imperial systems. (OOC: As you visit systems you/I can roll to see if there is anything on that system in these notes)
The third envelope is flatter than the other two. Looking inside you find a schematic for this ship's deckplan. There appear to be a couple of discrepancies that show empty spaces where solid bulkheads or pieces of the fuel tanks would be. Needs checking against the actual physical locations.
Feeling around in the back of the safe, Carlos first feels three more items:
The first he pulls forward is a small wallet with 3 Memory Sticks inside. There is no writing on the sticks indicating what data they might contain.
The second is a small Body Pistol. This is 5 round Automatic and has a full magazine inserted. This weapon looks advanced, made from plastics and composites, it will fool any detectors right up to TL 10 and has a good chance at passing 11 or 12.
The final item is the case for the Body Pistol with a spare magazine and a small box containing 32 loose rounds for the body pistol.
After going through all this, Carlos checks the closet and finds it empty. Nothing in the desk drawers, although one seems to stick a little when he pushes it back in.

Cr43847 is not included in the above figure, but okay, see above...terrymixon wrote: ↑Sun Jul 21, 2024 10:47 pm Does this include what was found when we got the ship? I went into the wayback machine to dig this up.
