Hail fellow adventurers. Glad that circumstance allows me to play again in the commencement of a new game. I had been PMing prior with Paladin. My sheet is up. Gil is cursed and can talk only in verse, except when drunk. This will make it more interesting for me. Gil is a barbarian skald; perhaps from the same tribe as Jasmine?

Welcome, one and all. I know that we are all freshly arrived and some haven't finished character sheets yet, but inspiration took me and I posted an introductory post in our in-character thread.

There is no rush. Feel free to jump in when you are ready.

I invite you to read the two posts in the Setting thread if you wish to learn more about the city of gold and the necromancer who threatens her people.

Most of our character creation tips, guidelines, and house-rules are posted for your perusal, as well. As you have questions or we encounter situations which require a ruling not found in the books, I'll work out house-rules to keep us moving forward.

Enjoy, my friends.

Yeah my sheet has a certain flair, but a lot of that goes back some time. Good role playing elevates the game. Rise!

Are we going with having gotten here together? I don't mind at all, just clearing my vision for comment.

I think so. :) Or you might join the group by some other avenue, whether you're already in town or arrive shortly after and encounter the others. As long as we all end up together fairly quickly, it'll work fine.

Quick note to the other players; I have an idea to help us out, but it assumes the group is fairly friendly and respectful to each other. So far that seems to be the case; Barlow likes both of the characters, and he's a mostly likeable sort. He's a great drinking companion too, since he knows his beer but doesn't drink a lot. :)

Is this a reasonable assumption?

Awesome, thanks!

Sorry I wasn't more communicative earlier, I spent the morning out in the sun and it took me a while to recover. Here's what is actually happening:

If Barlow had a house he'd happily let you both stay with him. I see the group as having traveled together for a bit, and they get along. Instead of a magic item, I asked Paladin to install Barlow as the steward of the local church of Barlow's faith. The current lead cleric is being asked to return to the main whatever. This gives the group a base of operations and people to help in the new city. Of course, it also gives Barlow responsibilities to minister, etc, so it's not a total freebie.

In effect, Barlow is inviting you into someone else's house. That was the basis of my question. I haven't gamed with you (plural) and just wanted to make sure that was clear. I'm sure we've all gamed with people who were less than considerate guests. :)

Jasmine may have decent Int and Wis but she is not very accustomed to being around people.

And before adventuring with party members she was basically fending for herself alone in the wilds after her

tribe was "taken" by the plague.

Her speech pattern is due to the fact she hasn't had a whole lot of interaction with people and her grandfather taught her

the basics of the common tongue.

Her Two Handed Sword and an amulet she sports around her neck are the only thing she has to remind her of her tribe.

Barlow is actually from a larger city, and a "civilized" land. However, he's happy to be adventuring, city life isn't everything. In some ways, as needed, he fends off issues for his companions, if they need the assist. He's gotten used to Jasmine's lack of social skills and Gil's rhyming. He will help Jasmine, as much as he feels she wants him too, but he won't tell her what to do unless she asks.

What about the mounts the party has? Barlow has a bunch of stuff on his mule.
Also, I think Jasmine's HP are different than that listed in the IC-Tavern thread.

I just haven't updated the HP from when they changed the other day. Thanks for noticing. :)

You can have Barlow stable them, if you like. I often forget about that part. But Kazak has a massive stable under heavy guard.

I am loving the tavern posts...and was secretly hoping someone might express interest in the arena. ;)

If you decide to take part, I will create a thread so that whoever fights and I may post back and forth quickly without cluttering up the main tavern thread with attack rolls.

I hear there are benefits to winning, by the way...

Been out working on a tractor today while it's sunny and pleasant, so I'll update us this evening. Excellent role-playing, all. I'm enjoying this immensely. :)

Just to be clear it cost 5 gp to fight... seeing as she fights her meal is free and a room is at her disposal.
