Karcsi hands a litre bottle of mead to everyone one and a clean empty glass.
"I hope the foods I bought is ample and acceptable."

Donovan laughed heartily as Zaki and Sigrun entered the bar. "What took you two? I've been dying of thirst."

"Everyone open you bottles and Drink!"
Karcsi open his bottle of mead and pours it in his cup and drinks.

"Skål!" she looks Flighty in the eye and says with a smile "To a good hand on the steering oar".
She sips her mead appreciatively rather than downing it in one and also orders ale to go with the meal. However, toasts seem to be a Swordy thing so she also adds others during the feast making sure to personally acknowledge her comrades (Flighty got in early in the "Guest of Honour" slot):
Zaki "She is our hearth"
Karcsi "Spjótbróðir!"
Donovan "My brother from Gram!"
Doug and Bob "Powering us on!"
She adds "Safe to port, slaying snakes and seeing a Dragon!"
Then "Draugr" (remembering) The Dead
"Til ols" - For Luck
"Til Valhallar" - For those in Valhalla

You eat, drink, and make merry with each other and several locals. Surprisingly, you make it back to the boarding house without blowing anything up or getting tossed in the klink for disturbing the peace. The next day you each slowly recover from sore heads, it's been a while since any of you caroused nearly as much as you did last night and you're out of 'shape' for that. More than one of you considers that you might be getting a bit old for that as well, but that's only a passing thought.
The next few days pass as you inquire about cargo.... (One PC can attempt to find cargo through one of normal channels, black-market channels or a private supplier. Decide among yourselves who makes the attempts in each of the 3 channels and give me rolls.)
...and you're also going to have to come to an agreement about where you are heading to next. That's important for a number of reasons, including what freight might be going that direction.

To find a normal supplier: 2d6+Trader/Broker/Liaison roll 6+ for success
To find a black-market supplier: 2d6+Streetwise roll 6+ for success

Flighty doesn't have broker, though he might want to change that at some point. He does have one level in carousing and streetwise, though. If the "captain" thinks he would be a good fit in looking for cargo, he'd be happy to assist. He probably isn't but hey, the offer is on the table.Eris wrote: ↑Tue Aug 20, 2024 9:20 pm You eat, drink, and make merry with each other and several locals. We might want to see what over IDs we have before picking a new destination. That might matter.

I have broker-3 as well as streetwise and carousing both at 1. Can we combine effects to improve our results?terrymixon wrote: ↑Tue Aug 20, 2024 9:41 pmFlighty doesn't have broker, though he might want to change that at some point. I assume we are headed roughly Rimward.
Re: 0006 Rumbles on Rangent
Sigrún's more than happy for Flighty to seek "normal supplier" cargo or "black-market supplier" cargo assisted by herself or Donovan (or any of our rogue's gallery of "Streetwise" crew members) - just as soon as this "not at all alcohol related mild allergy" goes away...helvorn wrote: ↑Tue Aug 20, 2024 9:52 pmI have broker-3 as well as streetwise and carousing both at 1. The "Cargo Teams" are likely:
"normal supplier" Donovan Broker 3 aided by Zaki with Admin(?)
"black-market supplier" Flighty & Sigrún @ Streetwise 1 (plus Donovan as a "Swordy")
"private" Donovan & Flighty @ Carousing 1 (plus Sigrún for colour / "Swordy" flavour).
general provisioning Zaki with Admin(?)
Coursewise we stand atop the Lanth sector Abyss so we:
either ply the Spinward Main: a double jump to Phlume (TL 8 Rich Agric) or call in at Tionale on the way (TL 8 amber zone backwater but has "fly by" fuel to harvest)
or serially double jump via naval bases Denotam then Mirriam down the border through Vilis towards the Sword Worlds.
As a viable trade route for our trader the Spinward Main might offer us more markets if we're confident we can hide in plain sight with our new ship IDs.

The general idea is to "front" any team above with the appearance of being a Sword World crew as per our intent to "shield" orginal crew members from excessive exposure.

Karcsi is happy to help out anywhere.
He does have streetwise also.
Karcsi does have interrogation, so he can question suppliers about truthfulness or anything else.

That's not interrogation, but it is brute force and partially effective.

I like to think of if more that Interrogation techniques, such as building rapport, careful observation, and strategic questioning, can be adapted to everyday conversations to uncover deeper truths and insights. These skills help in discerning the truth by analyzing responses and non-verbal cues.
But its not my game.
Re: 0006 Rumbles on Rangent
Interrogation by torture isn't nearly as effective as some stories make out. Torture gets you the answers the tortured thinks you want to hear. Going the more soft route of rapport, observation and strategic questioning typically gets you answers that are closer to the truth. Just an observation from the Peanut Gallery.ateno wrote: ↑Wed Aug 21, 2024 1:26 amThat's not interrogation, but it is brute force and partially effective.

One roll per person per week, no doubling up, no helpers on the roll. Of course anyone can try anything if they want with a --DM (modified by JoAT), but if you go by the skills you have the following will have positive DM's:
- Donovan (Trader, Streetwise, Carouse) can look at any type supplier, but only one of them per week;
- Karcsi (Liaison, Streetwise) could look for either a normal or black-market supplier.
- Zaki (Streetwise) can try to get black-market cargo;
- Flighty (Carouse, Streetwise) could try for either a private or black-market deal.
- Sigrun, Doug and Bob have no relevant skills, but of course you're free to try. Doug and Bob are not, however.

Eris it might just be more efficient if you make the rolls as you're a "one stop shop" rather than us all digitally falling over each other.

Flighty has JoaT-3, but I suspect that he’d be better off dealing with the skills he has.
