Re: Back at it
Don't you guys prefer to seek some shelter? We are soaked and it's freezing.
Re: Back at it
"Sure, Sergius..." Cilian looks around at the lack of shelter anywhere near them, "Where do you suggest?"
Cilian's mood has turned foul at this point, if it isn't obvious to everyone else. He's seriously considering turning back and giving the medallion to the proper authorities to let them deal with it, as they're more properly equipped to do.

Maybe there are some trees a bit ahead. Crap, this does not look like it is going to stop...

Bout time one of you spoke some sense! Tub complains mainly to himself and shivers.zebediah wrote:Don't you guys prefer to seek some shelter? We are soaked and it's freezing.
Looking around is there anything we can see? Besides Olhydra heading our way that is!

Re: Back at it
Off to the west in the distance you see an old barn and farmhouse.
You occasionaly pass such farms even though they are rare.
The problem is it is off the main road so taking the cart will slow you down considerably.

Re: Back at it
Viktor perks up from his dreary, self-imposed malaise when Tub spots the barn and farmhouse in the distance. "It would be nice to get out of this hellish storm. We could dry off and rest the horses a bit," he offers, almost hoping that the others will agree.
He then looks to Cilian and the amulet around his neck. "Hey Cil, does that amulet tell ya how much further we need to go to get to this temple?"
OOC: Wolf, was curious what the TOD is currently?

Cilian replies, "Nope. Not as far as I can tell."
He is all for heading towards the barn, if a few others are, as well.

Are you taking the cart or leaving it?

Others may chime in with dissenting opinions, but I'd vote we keep Korec's horses and cart with us at all times, only leaving it behind when we absolutely have to.wolfpack wrote:Are you taking the cart or leaving it?

Re: Back at it
I would vote take it, we can always lose it later if necessary
"I would offer no disrespect to the Mighty One, ut a respite from this downpour would not go amiss." Osric states as he looks longingly towards the farm house.

Re: Back at it
You make your way toards the old farmsted as the weather worsens. You slowly drag the horses and cart behind you since the weather has turned the ground to mud.
The hail grows until it is the size of golfballs and in the distance you see a tornado touch down making its way directly down the road you left behind.
Everyone takes 1 damage
As you near the barn you see the roof has been destroyed long ago and it offers little shelter. the farmhouse is another 50 yards away.

Re: Back at it
"You gotta be kidding me! It figures there's no freaking roof on that barn!" cries Viktor sarcastically, obviously deflated by their circumstances and scared about the tornado that just touched down where they were on the road and pelted them. "We've already sloughed through the mud this far, might as well head for that farmhouse. Whadaya'all think?"
The young churl looks to his companions to gauge their reactions. "Oh and anyone else thinking that bloody tornado dropping on the road right where we just were is a damn coincidence?"
OOC: deducted 1hp from character sheet.

Re: Back at it
Sergius keeps moving as well Probably it's no coincidence at all Vik. Like everything else we have been facing...
Re: Back at it
Scythius suddenly stops, readying his bow with a look of realization on his face.
Something isn't right. This storm is a dark creation to keep people away. Yet we travel into it. It drives us to find shelter with a tornado along the road we were traveling. We now travel toward a farm house after finding no shelter in the closer barn. This feels like a trap, we should be on our guard.
Finishing his statement, Scythius begins to look around the area for any tracks headed toward the farmhouse that look out of place. I don't know if I should roll for this or what exactly to roll, dont have the books in front of me at the moment.

Re: Back at it
The destruction caused by the weather leaves no trace of tracks.
You arrive at the farm house and make your way around to the front. You see underneath the covered porch a horse tied to a porch post. It is obviously frieghtned by the weather and your appearance does not make it any less so.
The windows in front of the house are borded shut and the fornt door is closed.
as you take in the scene their is a sudden drop in aitr pressure making your ears pop and a funnel cloud begins to develope only 50 yards away. As you watch in awe the small cloud moves quickly with a deafining noise it runs straight through the old barn obliteratring what was left of the structure.
