We can pay for our rations and whatever weapons they want from group fund, we can also pay them from group fund.

Wick asks whether or not we want some tents, and if we did then we'd need a mule or something to carry them. (We 'd need 2 tents for us and 2 for the dwarves)

Maybe some tarps instead of the tents, then we should be able to not bother with the mule. I worry the mule may be more bother then we need.

actually it looks like a 2man tent takes up one slot. Could we free up some space with what we're carrying.

We could try. Might be able to get 3 Dwarves into a 2 man tent? Bigger tents usually have the load split between individuals, so a 4 man might have the body carried by 1 man, poles by another, cover by a third etc. These tents may be simple enough that you can't break them down into more than halves, but 2 should be doable. The other usually done thing with older tents (and still today in the bushcrafting crowd, which I have done more than once) is cutting poles and stakes at the sight. Easier when you are using as a base camp for a few days but can be done even when moving every day.
