Range Modifiers: The first four hexes are no modifiers, and each 3 hexes after that is -1. One skill level with range makes the first five hexes free and -1 for each 4 hexes, etc.

I did not write in this post but you also have the options of ranged skill levels of reducing the ranged penalty by 1. This would be the better choice if you are 6 hexes away for example.

Of course I am happy to do all the math behind the scenes and you not be forced to worry about it. (but at the same time I am happy to have you do it)

I remember going through that page, but somehow I completely missed it.

Just checking to see how practical buying Ranged Penalty levels would be. I would say two of them would make a significant difference.
