I vote for it. 4,000 is a “reasonable” or “liveable” salary (then the taxes get removed and…)

I just wanted to clarify, what with the new list of company weapons, that DJ is keeping the 'local' 9mm magnum revolver with 50 regular and 50 HE rounds.

There is one listed in the company equipment, but I wasn't sure if that was the one from DJs sheet or not. I'm also assuming that the 18mm pump shotgun is the one from DJs sheet, which is fine.

In some sense, the group has chosen to "hide" their weapons from the COLONY at the ship, so likely all the weapons are locked in the ship's armory to keep them safe (except what you as an individual are actively carrying).
So whatever the ultimate consensus, it is a bit of "semantics" when all the weapons are together in reality.

Start of a new month, so decide how you are going to live and just subtract the LIVING EXPENSES for month 12 ...

SOC 0-2 “Homeless” = Cr 132 / mo = Rent 50; Food 60; Trans. 15; Comm 5; Cloth. 2; Ent. 0
SOC 3-5 “Laborer” = Cr 400 / mo = Rent 130; Food 110; Trans. 60; Comm 20; Cloth. 8; Ent. 10
SOC 6-8 “Craftsman” = Cr 1,200 / mo = Rent 300; Food 160; Trans. 180; Comm 40; Cloth. 24; Ent. 60
SOC 9-11 “Gentlemen” = Cr 3,600 / mo = Rent 900; Food 320; Trans. 360; Comm 120; Cloth. 72; Ent. 360
SOC 12-14 “Nobleman” = Cr 10,800 / mo = Rent 2525; Food 640; Trans. 1080; Comm 360; Cloth. 216; Ent. 162
SOC 15 “Royalty” = Cr 32,400 / mo = Rent 8100; Food 1280; Trans. 3240; Comm 1080; Cloth. 648; Ent. 6480

... the Cr 4000 salary everyone was paid on 12.01 will support a SOC 9-11 lifestyle

All the weapons I put in the company armory were on a list of weapons that we bought with Val’s company seed money, but they never found a home with any individual PC or NPC, DJ was holding, or they were weapons that Mick held onto and is sharing with the group. Herbie, Val, and Olivia took some, but not all we purchased. We bought some bigger guns too that we later realized exceeded several PC’s personal recoil number. That especially was the case with the 12mm rifles. I think we determined that most PCs needed 9mm rifles to stay under recoil limits.

I believe you said “I’ll hold onto these rifles for the group”.

I had a note to self including the weapons DJ previously said he was holding for the group. It did not include that 9mm Revolver nor the 18mm Pump shotgun. Do you want DJ to put the shotgun in the ship’s armory?

Some of the guns DJ had he bought with his own money, but was happy to donate them to the group cause.

I know lots of weapons were purchased, quite a few of the same type, so I just wanted to be sure what was what so I could take them off of my character sheet. I'm happy for the shotgun to go into the group weapons.

When we returned home DJ handed over all of them but his snub pistol and the 9mm magnum revolver he bought. DJ specifically kept his snub pistol and the revolver with him when the rest were hidden to get them back home, and he has kept them with his personal things since. Doesn't mean he's taking them with him everywhere, but they will be in his bags.

So that I can remove all but the pistol and revolver from his character sheet as the rest are accounted for under the company list?

DJ is going for the 'craftsman' lifestyle this month.

”Agreed. I suspect we’re already in this too deep.

Joe, DJ.? Having never really been out there, what’s it going to be like out there in this system’s space if we have to make a run for it. I’m feeling a total sense of urgency to get the ship running. But is escaping in it conceivable? I’m just a backwoods hunter…what can we expect out in this system? How do we prepare for that?

My understanding is that the immediate system is pretty stable and safe, but we are going to need GM input to help answer that question.

Yes. I just added Dj’s 18mm Shotgun to the company armory. I previously added all the rifles.

OK, To answer the question from a GENERAL view ...

If you are familiar with "MegaTraveller's Hard Times" and the later "TNE: Pocket Empires", it talks about space as having three "layers". There is CIVILIZED space where some advanced starfaring polity patrols and maintains relatively safe trade routes by suppressing piracy. Surrounding this is the FRONTIER where patrols are spread too thin and more danger lurks. Beyond the frontier lies WILD SPACE with independent worlds and no patrols or law to govern space.
The Blue Confederation is a pocket of weak CIVILIZED space surrounded by FRONTIER systems ... with WILD SPACE beyond that.

Within the Bleu System itself, I mentioned that it is a weak CIVILIZED space because with only POP 4 [almost 5], there is too much "system" for the Government to be EVERYWHERE and ALL THE TIME. So there are actually many small bootstrap colonies and operations throughout the system that the Bleu Warships ignore unless they cause problems. The result is that the System itself is a haven for refugees from other places.

The other worlds of the Blue Confederation have larger populations, which allows greater control of their entire systems ... meaning fewer refugee settlements. However they have lower Law Levels (more permissive) than the Bleu Planetary Bureaucracy.

Beyond the Confederation, it is every world on its own until you reach the next "Pocket Empire" along the trade route [FRONTIER] with worlds off the main being [WILDERNESS].

For SPACERS in the group ...

I guess it's going to make trading in the Beau system quite difficult if not impossible. Not quite what DJ had in mind when he wanted his own ship.

Don't panic too soon.
I have provided hints that there are multiple players involved ... the GOVERNMENT is paranoid that a Terrorist Cell is active near the second largest city on the planet!
A sentient Alien AI Starship is NOT a New Dawn (anti-tech) Terrorist Cell.

There are completely different "blockheads" interested in the AI for reasons still unknown.
Just patiently collect data and eventually piece together all the different parts.

My read so far is the corp security guys are taking advantage of the Government insurgency concern to take control of the Colony. Is this a case of the Corp guys pursuing Ellie and the Gov just concerned about New Dawn?
