The entire day of 6/21 is spent resting and recovering. The Guild Master returns late in the day to speak to you privately.

"I was able to speak to the Sherriff and the High Priest of Ord as they were together. The Sherriff authorized the Vermin clearing job for the Guild." he says, "As you started this, you get first crack at taking this job."

He shows you the parchment with the job offer...

By order of the Sherriff of Slateholm an offer of 60 gold pieces, 4 sets of Leather Greaves and anything of value found below ground during the operation is made for the clearance of all vermin in the tunnels below The Market District of this town.

"It's going up on the Job Board, but if you want it it's yours. However, there is one slight complication."
says the Guild Master, "The Sherriff insisted that you take one of his guardsmen with you and once he did, the High Priest insisted one of his acolytes accompany you as well. Them being along doesn't affect your pay or you keeping anything you find, but along with you they must go or the job is off."

Draven will get Versper's clothes cleaned on the day of recovery and will return them in character shortly.

"Fine by me," Draven said. "I'm in."

How is Vesper garbed today?

The door to the common room opens to frame a young bravo wearing a magnificent feathered hat and a red and blue striped jacket. A second glance shows Vesper's lips forming a wry smile from under the hat's brim. She reaches up to doff her headgear causing a cascade of her raven hair to fall about her shoulders. She has to break her pose to scratch her ribs under her green and red waiscoat which acting as both coat and bustier confirms rather than denies her female figure. Indeed her dancers legs are well shown off by the leather trousers completing her ensemble.

"He" hoists a trophy which turns out to be Vesper's undershirt now doubling as a scrip to bear a quantity of fresh warm pastries. She announces "Breakfast for heroes!" and then eyes Draven as her lips twitch into a playful smile "Although I'm not sure you get any for trading away my clothes and deserting my company when I was in my cups - scoundrel! You know that in drink I become suggestive... um... suggestible and yet you ditched a comrade for some high born's favours!" Then Vesper's eyes go dreamy "She was such a good kisser! And what did you two do once you had my dress??? You better not have torn the seams! From the state you were in I didn't think you could get yourself or anyone else into too much trouble... Why, of all things, did you suggest gambling? I woke up... never mind!" Her gaze carries beyond Draven "Ohhh... a bath! Oh, I really need a bath! I will trade you all the pastries - or quite possibly commit a murder for it!"

Vesper begins to shed clothing heading for the bath calling over her shoulder "No ogling! Jake please fetch me a towel!"

Vesper replies casually "I do need to buy another seven veils". By way of truncated explanation she offers "They have to entirely match - otherwise it just doesn't work properly". She eyes the company levelly, possibly checking for artistic commitment, then allows "I did have a full set... but... well... well someone swallowed one!"

She adds "We could work with the taverns we plan to perform at to ensure they fill the house and have musicians on that night. We could theme the performance, buy in the right costumes - it would make everything easier and increase the take".

(OOC: As per the above (and our current XP/GP hound rock n' roll lifestyle) if we ring fence a 10GP investment from the warchest to "seed" our next gig (musicians, effects, lights, publicity, handbills/graffiti , showbiz darling, all of that) it might well pay a dividend and/or get us a chance of a +ve DM and/or extra dice of "take". We then, of course, blow it all on a bigger party!

"Yeah, fill the bath with whipped cream and... we're gonna need a goat..".

As a reminder, Verper was wearing "performing clothing" last night...I'm guessing much more slinky than what she wears day to day and with dancing shoes, not boots What she came back wearing needs cleaning, and alterations as it is a bit small on her in several places, but it would be much closer to what a 'Dandy' would wear for a night out on the town, or the performing clothes of a bard...flowery, colorful and flashy with the soft leather boots not good for tramping around in the woods or dungeons. Certainly not day to day wear for anyone, especially an adventurer. Her adventuring outfit is in a small chest at the foot of her bed along with her heavy high boots.

By the way, a brown paper parcel has been delivered with four sets of leather Greaves inside. The Greaves add +1 to AC against attacks from very small creatures (or against legs in general).

OOC: Are all of you going shopping?

Vesper, Draven, Galreth, and Gaurbal leave the Guild Building and head back west past the Temples and turn left into the warrens of streets and alleys behind the Market Square. You don't get far before you are joined by the children from yesterday. They tag along with you and give you directions getting you right to Dally and Daughters.

The hand crossbow is still displayed in the window when you get there and push open the door. A bell jingles above you as you enter the dimly lighted shop. It is smells of wood and oil as you walk up to a counter.

From a door leading into the back a young woman of perhaps 25 steps through the curtain into the shop and goes behind the counter.

"Morning!" she says, "Can I help you?"
