At Jezreel's question to him, Marduk thinks a moment. "You are right, Most Holy. You have answered the questions I asked."
{GM}

Jezreel flashes a relieved smile, glad that she had not let the ancient Malakim down by missing some important detail. After a second, her smile slides into a somewhat mischievous grin. Her eyes dance.

“You know, Marduk,” she says in a deliberately casual voice. “There are apps that can help with that… keeping the elderly mind sharp…” She waits half a beat before shaking her head. “No, I bet you are one of those anti-technology types. Hold on.”

The young Seraph hops to her feet and almost skips to one of the two door on the wall with the sofa. She opens it and rummages around for a moment. She returns with a softcover book about the size of two magazines and with a small plastic case. Without a word, she hands both to Marduk - the book cover-side down - before returning to her seat.

He looks to the others, "I think I will go see Willow now unless there is more to discuss. I do know the Corporeal Song of Healing and was planning to use it on Willow."
{GM}

Sobering, Jezreel nods. “And most likely better than I do. Good,” she says. “Maybe if your healing is enough, they might move Willow to the General Pediatrics Wing, where I might be allowed to visit. If she wakes, would you please tell Willow that I’m thinking of her, sir?”

“Well, not here,” Jezreel clarifies. “Uncle Eli's never been to my apartment, as far as I am aware.” She pauses a moment before continuing. “In the Sunrise Café on the Seawall… or on the beach… or both.” She shrugs. “And I wouldn’t say. ‘Often,’ really,” the Revelationist says. “Every few years when Willow was young, that she can recall. About once or twice a year since Willow started seriously working on her equations when she was ten. And two or three times a year since I’ve been here. But not in any predictable pattern that I can find.” She hesitates again. “I have reported this to Reshnu as Judgment requires. After Uncle Eli leaves, of course. At my next weekly meeting.”

[Marduk]

"You are young, but now you are showing just how young and you are." Marduk says neutrally. "For an Archangel, that is "often". Most of us rarely see an Archangel. We can go a couple hundred years without seeing our Superior. But you have seen multiple Archangels in your infinitesimal lifetime and your own Superior multiple times in a year." He shakes his head.

[Marduk]

Marduk frowns at the mention of apps. He understands that the young Angel is making some sort of joke at his expense with the comment about keeping sharp, but it doesn't really make sense. An Angels mind does not grow dull witted with age like the humans, or otherwise, given Marduk's age, he'd be unable to do anything.

"Sounds like we have some kind of plan going forward."

He takes his phone out too and looks at Jezreel. "Can we swap numbers as well? With the potential for us splitting up in different ways, we should all be able to contact each other...and I know I'm practically a stranger to you Jezreel, but if you ever need to talk to someone, we'll I'm a good listener. I've had plenty of practice, humans really like the sound of their own voice. But if you'd rather talk to someone else then I won't be offended."

“I’m sorry, Marduk,” Jezreel says. “It must be lonely seeing Michael so rarely.” She shakes her head sadly. “I’d really miss Uncle Eli if I had to wait so long to see him. I could do without seeing the others, I think. Except for Grandfather Christopher. I’ve only seen him three times, but I’d miss him, too.”

{GM}

Jezreel laughs. “Maledriel, I Serve Revelation.” she says, strongly emphasizing her Superior’s Word. “I’m not exactly shy about sharing my thoughts and opinions with anyone.”

The young angel takes a deep breath, sobering a bit. “Thank you,” she says. “I appreciate the offer. Of course you may have my phone number and social media contact information. Just give me your number, and I’ll send it all to you. That’d probably be faster than the other way around.”

She turns to look at Bobby. “Barazephyr, I am guessing you’ve already gathered all of my contact information, but if you’d give me your number, I’ll send it all over to you in case you missed an account or two.”

Looking over at Marduk, Jezreel says, “You can have my information, too, sir… if you have a phone… and know how to use it.”

Not waiting for him to answer, she turns her attention to the Reliever. “Or, maybe I’d better just give it to you, Galgaliel. It’d probably be faster to call you and have you relate the information than to wait for Marduk to figure out which way to swipe to answer my call.”

Galgaliel giggles a second before catching himself and casting a wary eye at Marduk. “Actually, I got it from Martha, Jezreel, assuming everything she has is accurate and up-to-date.”

Jezreel nods, grinning. “It is. Martha is very efficient.”

{Barazephyr}

Bobby looks at G.G. with a wryly smile.
''You know, there is absolutely nothing wrong with asking permission for everything. I think you are a great worker and it is commendable! There is a saying among Ofanim though; He who always asks for permission is bound to end up to late.'' he gives Galgaliel a wink, hoping in the future he will ponder the meaning behind the words.
Today he will have to come in last, Bobby reckons. So with luck, he will come in first on another day.

He pulls out a simple and cheap-looking charging cable and plugs it in a socket inside Jezreel's apartment.
Bobby turns into electricity as he dives into the other end of it, destroying the cable in the process by the violent burst of lightning.
Once he arrives a second later in the hummer, he turns on his laptop and sends Jezreel his contact information.
Directly after he drives the car up to the entrance of the complex, waiting for Mal to get in.

“It’s called ‘Discipline,’ Bobby,” Galgaliel says in a tone so serious Bobby is almost certain the Reliever must be quoting Marduk… Or maybe Michael himself.

“Barazephyr,” Jezreel corrects even as Galgaliel explains.

Bobby turns into electricity as he dives into the other end of it, destroying the cable in the process by the violent burst of lightning.
{GM}

As Barazephyr disappears, the electrical cable flares and starts to burn. The cord itself is quickly destroyed and the plastic socket cover flames for a moment and starts to melt.

Galgaliel jumps off of his stool and goes unerringly for the left-hand, floor level cabinet, pulling out a household fire extinguisher. Triggering it, the Reliever sprays the flaming outlet, quickly putting out the small fire before it can spread any further.

Jezreel surges to her feet calling out a word her mother definitely would not approve of. But before she has finished uttering it, the fire is already out. “Thank you, Galgaliel.”

“You’re welcome, Jezreel,” the Reliever says as he returns the fire extinguisher back under the cabinet.

Hearing the incoming message ping on her phone, the young angel glances at it, and quickly sends a return message. Once she finishes texting, Jezreel opens the front window to air out the stench of burning plastic.

The cord Barazephyr uses to emerge likewise flares and burns. Lucky for him, the Hummer outlets have been hardened against this sort of spike, though a few of the embers from the cord flicker on the seats and floor, leaving a small amount of pitting on the seat covers.

Shortly after sending his message, Barazephyr gets one back, - Please don’t do that from my apartment again. Burning plastic smells disgusting. And I get charged for the damage to the outlet, I am billing you. - Jezreel. -

OOC: Sorry if this is disjointed, lots of different things to reply to.
{GM}

When Marduk refuses to take the book and the case, Jezreel shakes her head gently and pats his hand. She gives him a reassuring smile. “I understand. Old as you are, parchment and pigments must still seem like such a new development. But that’s okay. I saw how well you’ve mastered paper and graphite when you were taking notes, I’m sure you can handle these as well.” She pauses a moment to let that sink in. “You don’t have to be afraid. They won’t hurt you. I promise. If you just give them a try, they should help, possibly in more ways than one.”

The young Seraph arches an eyebrow of her own, doing her best to mimic Marduk’s expression, almost making her offer a dare. She struggles to keep the corners of her lips from twitching into a grin.
[Marduk]

Marduk's eyes narrow as he continues to make no move to take the book. "You seem to be attempting to... what the humans call "sass" me." He shakes his head dissapointedly. "Its a waste of your time and irrelevant to the mission."
[GM]

Not waiting for him to answer, she turns her attention to the Reliever. “Or, maybe I’d better just give it to you, Galgaliel. It’d probably be faster to call you and have you relate the information than to wait for Marduk to figure out which way to swipe to answer my call.”

Galgaliel giggles a second before catching himself and casting a wary eye at Marduk. “Actually, I got it from Martha, Jezreel, assuming everything she has is accurate and up-to-date.”
[Marduk]

Marduk gives Galgaliel a look before pulling out his infernal smartphone, "I have your contact information contained in this device." He then puts it away.
{GM}

Galgaliel looks over to Marduk. “May I, sir?”
[Marduk]

"Yes."
{Barazephyr}

Bobby looks at G.G. with a wryly smile.
''You know, there is absolutely nothing wrong with asking permission for everything. I think you are a great worker and it is commendable! There is a saying among Ofanim though; He who always asks for permission is bound to end up to late.''
[Marduk]

Marduk is about to tell the Ofanim not to interfere with his training of Galgaliel, but he does his trick and disappears in sparks.
[GM]

{GM}

“It’s called ‘Discipline,’ Bobby,” Galgaliel says in a tone so serious Bobby is almost certain the Reliever must be quoting Marduk… Or maybe Michael himself.

“Barazephyr,” Jezreel corrects even as Galgaliel explains.
[Marduk]

"I'll thank you not to correct my aide." Marduk says to Jezreel. "Bobby is the correct nomenclature to use as it is the name of his vessel. I am training him to correctly use vessel names when on Earth."
[Lilly]

Lilly turns to Jezreel (after wincing at the Ofanim's reckless charge through the power grid, and muttering "Show off."). "Would you like to accompany Marduk and Galgaliel to the hospital? We could also perhaps have them drop us off at Moonstone's home on their way to the hospital, and you could introduce me. In fact, I wonder if perhaps we should go and try to convince her to come to the hospital if she isn't there already. If Marduk successfully wakes Willow up, the poor girl is going to need her mother. Far more than a dour-faced Malakim pretending to be an FBI agent."
[Marduk]

"You are welcome to join us." Marduk says to Lilly and Jezreel. "But I am not pretending to be an FBI agent. In this vessel, I am an FBI Agent." These young Angels seem to know nothing.

OOC: No problem. I will put things where they go. :)

Marduk's eyes narrow as he continues to make no move to take the book. "You seem to be attempting to... what the humans call "sass" me." He shakes his head disappointedly.
{GM}

"Maybe just a little," Jezreel freely admits. "Relieving the tension of thinking I had forgotten to tell you something."

"Its a waste of your time and irrelevant to the mission."

"Take it anyway, Marduk," the young Creationist says. "It's an adult coloring book. They pass them out at one of the nursing homes where Willow and I sometimes volunteer. Coloring helps keep the mind sharp and improves fine motor control." She hesitates a moment before adding, "Besides, it's fun. you do remember fun, don't you? Or did you never learn that in the first place? A little relaxation improves focus. Anyway, try it when you have some downtime. This one is stained glass patterns. Reminds me of the old cathedrals in the history books. You might find them nostalgic."

If Marduk still refuses to take them, Jezreel sets the coloring book and case of colored pencils on Marduk’s feet.

Tay-Dor wrote: Mon Dec 23, 2024 2:34 am [Marduk]

Marduk gives Galgaliel a look before pulling out his infernal smartphone, "I have your contact information contained in this device." He then puts it away.
{GM}

Galgaliel winces a little at Marduk’s glare. “Sorry, sir,” he says a bit sheepishly.

Jezreel just nods, making no comment.

Galgaliel looks over to Marduk. “May I, sir?”
[Marduk]

"Yes."
{GM}

"Thank you, sir," Galgaliel says.

Bobby looks at G.G. with a wryly smile.
''You know, there is absolutely nothing wrong with asking permission for everything. I think you are a great worker and it is commendable! There is a saying among Ofanim though; He who always asks for permission is bound to end up to late.''
Tay-Dor wrote: Mon Dec 23, 2024 2:34 am [Marduk]

Marduk is about to tell the Ofanim not to interfere with his training of Galgaliel, but he does his trick and disappears in sparks.
Charybdis Richelle wrote: Mon Dec 23, 2024 1:28 am {GM}

“It’s called ‘Discipline,’ Bobby,” Galgaliel says in a tone so serious Bobby is almost certain the Reliever must be quoting Marduk… Or maybe Michael himself.

“Barazephyr,” Jezreel corrects even as Galgaliel explains.
Tay-Dor wrote: Mon Dec 23, 2024 2:34 am [Marduk]

"I'll thank you not to correct my aide." Marduk says to Jezreel. "Bobby is the correct nomenclature to use as it is the name of his vessel. I am training him to correctly use vessel names when on Earth."
{GM}

Jezreel gestures vaguely towards the door and the open window. "Out there, sir, with humans around," the young Revelationist says, " I promise I will accede to your wishes and submit to the ugly necessity of ignoring Roles. In here, in my home, when it is just we Celestials, I see no reason to let those lies stand, Marduk, and I will not."

{GM}

“I think Moonstone is already at St. Mary’s,” Jezreel says. “She was headed there when she called me this morning to ask if I would be willing to cover Willow’s shift this evening. I can’t go into Willow’s room, but I can wait in the waiting room and introduce you if she comes out for a break. She’ll have to if Marduk and Galgaliel go in. Willow can’t have more than two visitors at a time.”

“I know Heaven’s view on Roles, Marduk,” Jezreel says. “I, however, share Revelation’s views. But, as I said, in public, I will obey the restrictions imposed by the Seraphim Council. I get enough scrutiny from Judgment as it is. I simply won’t do so in private where those orders do not apply.”

“And yes, with your permission, I would like to come,” the young Seraph says. “As long as I can leave early enough to start work at 4:30. I told Moonstone I would if I could. She’s got someone else to cover for her since I can’t close. I have to leave by 9:30 to avoid breaking curfew. But I can bring my uniform with me and just catch the bus if you need to stay. There is a stop a block from St. Mary’s, and I have the Island Transit schedule app on my phone.”

"I have plenty of fun. Usually it involves destroying a demon." Marduk says deadpan.

Marduk doesn't even bother to look at the book when its placed on the floor. He ignores it.

"Then I will have to instruct my aide to ignore you." Marduk says in reply. "This is his first assignment on Earth and I will not have him making an error that causes another Angel to die."

"Agreed. I could use you and Lilly's help distracting any other humans from being in the room when I attempt to Heal Willow." Marduk asks. "It would not do for any of the humans to see the Song being performed."

"Eh? Can't you just say..." Lilly speaks her next words in a faux deep, monotone voice, a (very bad) impersonation of Marduk's. "'FBI business, bugger off.'"

"That would work if the patient was conscious and able to answer questions." Marduk explains. "But since she is still comatose and non-responsive, there's no reason for an FBI Agent to need time alone in the room."
