0007a The Jump from Phlume to Extolay
0007a The Jump from Phlume to Extolay
The crew settles into their routine for Jump Space quickly...
Everyone, give me any actions and your training intentions and rolls, if you please!
...the hot tub is completed and one of the empty passenger suites is converted to a workout room where Sigrun continues to kick everyone's hinny while saying it's "all just training."
Zaki keeps an eye on her low passengers, all of them seem to be doing fine as is the patient still in low. You really need to get him to a hospital soon and off your hands. Doug comments one evening at the dinner table that you might want to think about how you're going to explain his condition when you do drop him off between bites of his Chicken Kiev. He's correct about that, a proper hospital would probably ask questions and even make a report to the local authorities who might also have questions for you.
Doug also grumbles about being shorthanded in Engineering, "Bob wasn't the brightest bulb, but he was an extra pair of hands and that was useful maintaining this old bucket."
Karcsi is the only one that has any sort of strangeness happen during the jump. One night he dreams that he is being pursued through a forest that turns into a jumble of rocks by the man who introduced himself as Mister Smith back when you first woke up from the Low Berths and were offered "the contract." Karcsi, actually starts to feel a little guilty about not full-filling "the contract", but his old mentor pops up from behind a large rock and tells him "those people are monsters, don't feel sorry for them" as the figure of Mister Smith splits into too many to count. Karcsi wakes in a cold sweat at that point, and can't go back to sleep for quite a while.

Flighty will let Sigrun continue chasing him with an axe. He'll keep working DEX and add STR to that.Eris wrote: ↑Fri Dec 06, 2024 8:29 pm The crew settles into their routine for Jump Space quickly...

Flighty is open to ideas on the low passenger. He isn't injured and suffered issues waking, so it might not be that big of a deal. Or the data from the low berth might cause questions.
"We might have to tell them we salvaged it outside the Imperium and were bringing him to adequate medical care. That will cause questions, but we couldn't leave him someplace with poor chances of revival."

Sigrún, now gratefully bearing arms and wearing armour again argues with surprisingly mellow restraint "Karcsi has been granted a vision by the gods! Only fools would ignore its import".ateno wrote: ↑Fri Dec 06, 2024 11:51 pm"HEY! Acknowledges Sigrún positively for her comment

All Zaki can think of is to set the low berth off the ship and make an anonymous call to emergency services.
What TL do they need to treat him properly?

Re: 0007a The Jump from Phlume to Extolay
Sigrún says "Run. Run and hide again assuming that every cover identity we had is now blown. If we keep jumping and quickly turning around we can stay maybe ahead of the information chasing us for a little while but if it was Bob that put the bomb aboard he's going straight back to his handlers and setting them straight on our trail".
She adds "The only other thing that might help is staying out of Imperial space. We've laid a good trail towards Regina but if we call that a ruse and make our next jump back into the DMZ and then trade through Arden and Zhodani space we could make the Sword Worlds without visiting an Imperial Naval base. That or go to ground on Ruie. Sell the ship and trade up or down but cross back into Imperial space as individuals and not a Corporate ship gone rogue".

"That's already the plan," Flighty said seriously. "We will be going to Regina, but then a different direction than we said. We'll try to lose them until we can find a place to help us learn what we are now and take that thing off our hands."

Sigrún allows "We are already following one vision and should abide by its guidance".
Re: 0007a The Jump from Phlume to Extolay
Donovan looks up from the meal. "I can shift down to engineering full-time Doug until we can fill the slot. Flighty only needs me part-time anyway up on the bridge." He pondered their future decisions and shook his head. "We need to follow Flighty's vision as quickly as possible. We can switch identities and make deep space jumps to disguise our path and destination. As for dumping the ship and getting a new one do we have the papers to support a legitimate sale?"
Donovan will continue working on strength and endurance continues learning melee (Axe)-1.

Sigrún replies "I could help out in Engineering but I am assisting Zaki in the Med Bay. I am picking a few things up but Zaki makes me put them back. She is very strict in the workplace".helvorn wrote: ↑Tue Dec 10, 2024 11:21 pm Donovan looks up from the meal. "I can shift down to engineering full-time Doug until we can fill the slot. She confides cheerfully "I have a badge that says "Nurse" on it".
