Personality:
Marduk is very old and has been around the block a long time. One would be forgiven for wondering why he wasn't an Archangel by now, or at least a Worded angel. Marduk has never aspired to be anything more than a front-line grunt. Before the Fall, Marduk was all about loyally serving his superior. After the fall, Marduk was still about loyally serving his superior, but his new purpose was to eliminate those that betrayed God. He couldn't very well do that from behind a desk.
Given his lengthy time among humans, he gained an appreciation of humans that few angels develop. While he still can't bring himself to see them as equals, he has promoted them from pets (as he saw them early on) to little brothers and sisters. He feels very protective of the humans and it angers him that the demons would use the humans in their perverted war against Heaven.
Marduk is not a fan of technology. He prefers the simpler times of a thousand years ago, when it was one-on-one, blade vs blade. He sees the value in guns, just the next evolution from bows, they lack the personal touch to combat. He would have been fine if technology advancements had stopped around the 1950's. Smartphones and laptops must surely be the work of Hell. Marduk constantly prays to God to allow him to get his hands on the demon responsible for Windows 10.
While still a stoic Malakim, his constant exposure to humans over the millennium has allowed him to develop a slight sense of humor. To most he still seems humorless, but among Malakim, he's practically a Robin Williams. Occasionally he utters a witty quip that surprises other Angels that don't know him.
Background:
Eons ago, when the universe was being created to God's specifications, Lucifer formed the Seraph, Marduk, to be one of his assistants. Marduk served Lucifer loyally, gathering atoms and molecules to help form the stars. Eventually he was trusted to create stars on his own. The first of these starts would be later named by the Babylonians “Nibiru.”
As time passed, Marduk noticed his Superior's growing discontent. It grew with the advent of the humans. Marduk found the humans to be interesting, far more so than Jordi's animals. They seemed to incense Lucifer. While Marduk had never seen God, he had faith in God and was disquieted by Lucifer's grumblings.
Then it happened. The Fall. Marduk was there when Michael confronted Lucifer. Marduk felt betrayed by his Superior. With every blow exchanged between Michael and Lucifer, Marduk felt the pain of Lucifer's betrayal sink into his very essence. With Michael's final blow and throwing Lucifer out of Heaven, Marduk's transformation into one of the first Malakim was complete.
Marduk immediately swore himself to Michael's service asking only to help destroy Lucifer and the other fallen angels for their betrayal. He spent a thousand years or so on the front lines of the war. He made numerous assaults against Hell destroying demons without any mercy. As humanity grew and spread further across the earth, the war shifted to the corporeal world. Marduk was one of the first of Michael's angels to volunteer for duty on Earth to seek out and destroy demons attempting to use the humans.
With as long as Marduk ended up serving on Earth, he left his mark. His most obvious mark on human history was his inclusion in the Babylonian pantheon as their king god. Before Babylon was founded, Marduk helped a small Mesopotamian tribe that were being terrorized by a demon. He inspired the humans to resist the demon who was then defeated one-on-one in hand-to-hand combat in the center of the village. The surviving humans created a heroic cult around their champion, Marduk. Centuries later, the tale grew into mythology and the champion Marduk was transformed into a God.
Marduk spent time in Ancient Greece as well. He fought various demons with the aid of a human soldier of War named Heracles. It was much preferable to Marduk to let Heracles take the credit for the deeds they both did against the forces of Hell. It suited Michael to have another heroic human champion in that region. Another time he helped to convince Leonidas to take a group of his Spartans to hold the Persians at Thermopolis. Marduk joined them as one of the fabled 300. He convinced Leonidas to send one of his injured men back so the tale of their defiance would be told, thus ensuring tales of Leonidas' heroics would be told. Marduk, of course, stayed and died with the rest of the 300. There were many more such events in Marduk's service during the early days of Mankind, many of the deeds and heroes have been lost to the ravages of time.
During recorded history, Marduk served during the fall of the Roman Empire. He was one of many Angels of War sent to try to stop the infernally inspired Huns, but Rome fell. Marduk died in his guise of a Roman Centurion, holding a bridge long enough for a number of civilians to escape to safety. His next vessel some centuries after Rome's fall was Bedwyr who befriended Artur. Bedwyr became one of Artur's most loyal companions and one of his Knights of the Round Table. Upon his death at the last battle, Artur gave Bedwyr his sword, Excalibur. While mythology later claimed that Arthur gave Excalibur to Bedivere to return it to the Lady of The Lake, that was just romantic nonsense. Marduk still holds the sword, a simple Damascus steel gladius.
Marduk's thousands of years of service on Earth were broken up by brief stints on Michael's training grounds. Aside from helping train up the newer servitors of war in tactics and fighting techniques, he would also help them prepare for service on Earth. Marduk would tell them about humans and what to expect from them.
During what the humans labeled World War I, Marduk was aiding the French forces during the Battle of Verdun. Michael had sent Marduk to aid a young french lieutenant who had a destiny. While defending the Meuse Heights, forces led by a demon overran the French troops and captured the man Marduk was aiding. The demon was known to Marduk as they had fought before in an earlier battle. The demon demanded that Marduk surrender or the demon would kill the lieutenant. Marduk was torn between his oath as a Malakim to never surrender, and his duty to aid the human. Thinking he needed to secure the human's destiny, Marduk broke his oath. The laughter from the demon was seared into Marduk's soul when after Marduk was restrained, the demon killed the lieutenant. The demon then tortured Marduk for days before killing his vessel. But that paled in comparison to the scorn he was met with from Michael. The discord to the symphony was so great that Marduk begged Michael to disincorporate his forces. But Michael wasn't having any of it. He expected Marduk to work extremely hard to earn the boon of having the discord reduced.
Marduk was back on earth for WWII, the Korean War, and the Vietnam War. He served without any great distinction, but successfully enough to have a point of dissonance removed at the end of the Vietnam War. This last war was troubling for Marduk. The humans seem to lose their moral compass with this war. Many of the soldiers gave in to despair or drugs. Much as the Americans felt that this war was a loss, Marduk harbored thoughts that perhaps Hell had won.
The two Gulf Wars were a bit less problematic as there was a distinct enemy for both the humans and the Angels in both wars. But around 2013, Marduk was summoned to Heaven to train new Angels of War.
Eleven years later, Marduk was summoned to Michael...

Personality/Background:
Mal is a young angel, born in 1687, the same year Newton published his Principia Mathematica, the start of The Enlightenment. As he learned to comprehend the nature of humans he witnessed first hand humans trying to comprehend the world around them through science and technology. In the 18th century it was Watt and Hutton. In the 19th century it was Mary Shelley, Lovelace, Fox Talbot, Tesla and Kelvin. He is still interested in photography to this day. The 20th century saw assignments involving Curie, Turing, Crick and Hawking amongst others. He sees the death of Alan Turing as a personal failure. Disillusioned with the invention of the atomic bomb, in the 60's he was involved in the peace movement and Bertrand Russell. The 70's saw Punk and the 80's acid house. At this point Jean decided that Mal needed to refocus, and with the invention of the WWW in the early 90's he was given assignments as various Internet journalists in the hope he would regain a little objectivity.
Malcolm was created 10 years ago for an assignment in the UK and was reassigned to Houston 5 years ago.
The leaps the humans have made in the last 337 hears have amazed Mal, but he is saddened that humans cannot seem to get away from their darker natures: nuclear weapons, internet trolling, the dark web and televangelists.

Angels with this attunement may mentally control any device crafted by the hand of man from a number of feet away equal to their total forces.
They can make it do only those things that its regular controls would permit, and only one command per round.
Ofanim:
- First, the check digit of a successful resonance roll can be added to the check digit for any of the following skills: Acrobatic Dodge, Agility, Climbing, Dodge, Driving, Piloting, Running -- and any other skill roll that both the GM and the players can agree on. The resonance's check digit is added to the skill roll's check digit, even if this makes the result higher than 6, representing a success (or failure) of celestial proportions. The skill being enhanced must be stated before the resonance is rolled; the resulting modifier will only work with that skill.
Failing a resonance-modified skill roll generates dissonance in the Ofanim when the check digit of the failed roll is calculated to be greater than 6. Skill modifiers obtained through resonance cannot be accumulated; in fact, dissonance is generated if the skill modifier is not applied to a skill roll before his resonance is invoked again.
- Second, an Ofanite may add a successful resonance roll's check digit to the target number (not the check digit) of an Area Knowledge skill roll. Since these angels have an inherent grasp of the patterns of location in the Symphony, they're able to "feel" their way toward any general site -- "the nearest convenience store" -- or a specific place -- "the nearest gas station that sells diesel." Their resonance is only for established locations that exist in the public consciousness, not the precise tracking that is the trademark of the Cherubim. GMs should apply penalties to skill rolls if the desired results are too specific ("2708 Charlesworth") or subjective ("the best place to buy CDs").
- Third, an Ofanite may invoke his resonance to travel up to a number of miles equal to a successful roll's check digit -- in a single minute! -- while in his celestial form. This makes it simple to travel very quickly across the corporeal world, but compromises a low profile.

Ethereal lvl 1
Ethereal Sight grants the ability to see things either at a great distance or at great magnification. The level of amplification is equal to the singer’s Ethereal Forces times his skill level times the amount of Essence
spent.
Celestial lvl 1
Celestial Sight allows the singer to ignore barriers to his vision. The range of the singer’s unimpeded vision is equal to his skill level times the amount of Essence spent, in yards, through a total thickness no greater than his Celestial Forces in feet.

Song of Machines
These Songs were discovered by either Jean or Vapula (both claim credit). Regardless, they are common among Servitors of both, and their usefulness has made them
popular with others as well. “Machine,” for purposes of these Songs, means any artificial construct, including simple tools. However, none of these Songs will work on artifacts of any kind! All these Songs will affect any machine the singer can see.
Corporeal lvl 1
This Song acts like the Corporeal Song of Healing, but only for machines. Besides regaining Body hits equal to the CD times the level of the Song, the machine will function at peak performance for a number of hours equal to the CD times the Essence spent, and remain as perfectly tuned as if serviced by an expert until it wears down normally again. In practice, this means that for the duration of the Song, the machine will function about 20% more efficiently, or faster or stronger than a typical machine of its sort. (This does not increase weapon damage!) Simple tools gain little from this effect, though the Song will act as an instant sharpener/ oiler/cleaner, etc.
Ethereal lvl 1
This Song imbues a machine with a sort of pseudo-life, though no self-will. The machine gains Intelligence equal to the amount of Essence spent; 1 Essence will make it about as smart as a dog, 2 will allow more complex commands and 3 is the minimum requirement for anything involving conditional statements or future actions. The machine will obey the singer for CD minutes – it can receive commands verbally or with the Songs of Tongues, or transmissions if it has an appropriate receiver. The effect is much like Jean’s Remote Control attunement, except that the singer doesn’t have to manually control the machine.
Celestial lvl 1
The Celestial Song of Machines “primes” a machine for a specific task, such as jumping a chasm, shooting a certain foe, breaking into a database, etc. The singer may define one task for the machine to perform – this can be as specific or as general as he wishes, and he does not have to be the one who performs it, but it must be something resolvable with a single roll. The target number of that roll will get a bonus equal to the Essence spent. The task must be performed within CD hours.
Furthermore, for the duration of the Song (or until the task is performed), the machine will act as if it were a celestial artifact, requiring no fuel or power to operate normally, and it can be taken to the ethereal or celestial planes. (Game Master’s decision whether this works on very large objects . . . the space shuttle, for example!) If it is on the ethereal or celestial plane when the Song expires, it will return to its last location on the corporeal plane, causing a disturbance equivalent to that of summoning an artifact (Liber Reliquarum, p. 23).

popular with others as well. “Machine,” for purposes of these Songs, means any artificial construct, including simple tools. However, none of these Songs will work on artifacts of any kind! All these Songs will affect any machine the singer can see.
Corporeal lvl 1
This Song acts like the Corporeal Song of Healing, but only for machines. Besides regaining Body hits equal to the CD times the level of the Song, the machine will function at peak performance for a number of hours equal to the CD times the Essence spent, and remain as perfectly tuned as if serviced by an expert until it wears down normally again. In practice, this means that for the duration of the Song, the machine will function about 20% more efficiently, or faster or stronger than a typical machine of its sort. (This does not increase weapon damage!) Simple tools gain little from this effect, though the Song will act as an instant sharpener/ oiler/cleaner, etc.
Ethereal lvl 1
This Song imbues a machine with a sort of pseudo-life, though no self-will. The machine gains Intelligence equal to the amount of Essence spent; 1 Essence will make it about as smart as a dog, 2 will allow more complex commands and 3 is the minimum requirement for anything involving conditional statements or future actions. The machine will obey the singer for CD minutes – it can receive commands verbally or with the Songs of Tongues, or transmissions if it has an appropriate receiver. The effect is much like Jean’s Remote Control attunement, except that the singer doesn’t have to manually control the machine.
Celestial lvl 1
The Celestial Song of Machines “primes” a machine for a specific task, such as jumping a chasm, shooting a certain foe, breaking into a database, etc. The singer may define one task for the machine to perform – this can be as specific or as general as he wishes, and he does not have to be the one who performs it, but it must be something resolvable with a single roll. The target number of that roll will get a bonus equal to the Essence spent. The task must be performed within CD hours.
Furthermore, for the duration of the Song (or until the task is performed), the machine will act as if it were a celestial artifact, requiring no fuel or power to operate normally, and it can be taken to the ethereal or celestial planes. (Game Master’s decision whether this works on very large objects . . . the space shuttle, for example!) If it is on the ethereal or celestial plane when the Song expires, it will return to its last location on the corporeal plane, causing a disturbance equivalent to that of summoning an artifact (Liber Reliquarum, p. 23).

Contained in the backpack are a flashlight, a coil of rope, feminine products and a spare set of clothing, including socks and underwear. Also, has her wallet containing credit cards and ID. A small pouch on one of the shoulder straps holds her (rather cheap) smartphone.
Background
Like her true Superior, Lilly is a walking contradiction. Eli fashioned her into existence during the Christmas Truce of 1914, in the middle of World War I. Born in the midst of one of humanity's greatest wars, violence and bloodshed pounds through her soul. Born during a spontaneous truce in the midst of that war, to celebrate the birth of He who Loved the world so much He died for it, so too does a deep, passionate love for humanity. Created by Creation himself, she is tied to Creation, she loves Creation, and she is more comfortable moving amongst Creation than she is in the halls of Heaven.
With so much of her angelic essence in the Corporeal Realm, her Vessel is incredibly strong, incredibly fast, and incredibly resilient. When she fights, she does so brutally and with her bare fists. But the love of the Son of God flows through her soul. She is as reluctant to fight humans as any Mercurian, even Soldiers of Hell. For in her mind, no mortal so long as they live is beyond redemption. She fights to protect Humanity, so if she kills or even hurts a human, then what's the point? Anytime she is confronted with a mortal opponent, she seeks to evade the fight, or disarm and contain the threat without hurting them. But when faced with the diabolical or undead, well. World War I in all its violent horror pulses through her soul, and so too does the Wrath of God.
When Eli gifted his servitors to other Archangels before disappearing, he somehow managed to convince Michael to take her on, in large part, she suspects, because she didn't really fit anywhere else. Michael agreed to shelter her Heart, but largely ignores her. In turn, she ignores him though she respects him deeply. She wanders the US, staying in one place for a couple of decades at a time, granting support to other Angels of Eli when they need (a lot of) extra muscle, or chasing down rumors of demonic influence they turned up, but can't spare the time to pursue. In each such place, she works a bartender, enjoys the local nightlife and art scene and does her best to rip apart demons who pervert or destroy those things that Eli holds most dear.
Lilly fervently believes that the reason Eli is wandering the earth is because he thinks Angels have gotten so caught up in the War, and their own petty politics, that they've forgotten the whole point of everything, which is God's Creation including (maybe especially) humanity. She believes he abandoned his post to wander precisely to remind himself of his higher purpose. And so when he made her, he sought to create an angel who would be less attached to Heaven and its politics, and thus wouldn't forget what's truly important.
