Svendt "Fine by me." he says with a shrug then moves to stab at the spider corpse.

The spider is a giant black widow, but fortunately for the PCs, the immense vermin is several days dead, as becomes apparent from the smell and condition of
the corpse as it’s approached. A muff led chewing sound and a bulge wriggling inside of the spider’s abdomen. These come from the activities of a pair of giant cave maggots feeding on the corpse. You have attracted their attention.

Helgash

As the group gathers and discussions ensue about the creature within the spider, Helgash steps forward, his eyes scanning the wriggling bulge. "Alright, it sounds like we have a plan. Let's take care of this before it becomes a bigger problem."

Helgash hefts his longspear, the weapon gleaming faintly in the dim light. "Everyone, form a line protecting our injured. We'll hit those things when they come at us."

Helgash moves into position, his stance steady and determined. "On my mark, we hit them hard. Let's show these vermin what happens when they cross our path."

Plan is to make a line protecting our charges, and the wounded.
Meleers in front (Helgash has a longspear, so he is planning to use reach tactics for the first round).
Ranged can pepper them from afar.

Scratch has his silvered short sword held ready to repel these maggots, although he does wonder what they may taste like if properly seasoned and cooked...

Svendt draws his rapier ready to poke the maggots with it. He takes up a bit of a defensive posture and will strike whichever of the giant maggots comes his way.

Ahlannah

She will move slightly in front, so as not to hit her comrades with the magical flames. As soon as either of the maggots gets in range of her spell, she will unleash it upon them.

Helgash

Helgash sticks to his initial plan, and stands close to Ahlannah after she casts her spell, offering the protection of his longspear.

Same strategy as above, now next to Ahlannah. Any other spellcaster can come close also - the longspear offers some reach around Helgash, and some protection to spellcasters if you are close. Ideally in a Ʌ formation, with Helgash at the tip ;)

Usually these are the possible shapes of the 15' cone, so depending on where the bad guys are, Helgash can be 'in front' and still allow the casting of the Burning Hands. Maybe it is more accurate to say 'in front, and to the side' :)

Helgash would be where the black crosses are, depending on the situation.

OOC: I feel like I missed a map somewhere

Scratch takes his chance to attack one of the maggots trying to eat him and his new "friends"

Attack Roll [1d20]=13 + 4; Damage Roll [1d6]=4 + 1

So 17 to hit, and 5 damage? I'm still trying to figure the roller out -)

OOC: I just set up 4 macros for his different attacks - tested them and they all work =)

Helgash

Helgash holds his position as before - if any maggot comes close, it is attacked.

Scratch isn't happy. First he gets dropped on his ass into some cavern. He meets some new people, who are nice. Then maggots burst from a big dead spiders body ... when it gets back to his turn he has a trick up his sleeve he'll rely on

[When it gets to his turn, he's going to cast Magic Missile at whichever one seems the most damaged.]
