Woohoo! :)
hidetzugu wrote: Sat May 11, 2024 9:06 pmIt's a really long-term thing (I've never reached it). If you spend 3 Deeds + 10 Persona + 30 Fate in a stat/skill it Grayshades.

But maybe PBP will be the format that I eventually reach it!!!
I'm familiar with Epiphanies. ;) I was speaking about the F, P and D next to your beliefs and instincts.
Oh, that's mostly for self-auditing (if one of your Beliefs goes too long without triggering maybe you should replace it). It can also be used as a reference for the trait Votes.

Oh, btw. I never really understood why you note the amount of Artha you spent on BITs. There are spaces on the character sheet and MrHyde updated it on his Forum-sheet for Lilly, but I see no mechanic that interacts with it.
I missed this earlier. Whenever you spend artha on a skill, you mark what you spent. This applies whether you succeed or not, and is how you shade your skills up to gray or white. The relevant quote is: "To shift to the next lighter shade, a player must spend a total of 3 deeds points, 10 persona points and 20 fate points. If a player has spent this much artha on one of his character’s abilities, then the ability immediately and permanently takes on its new shade."

See the Epiphany section on page 69 of BWGR for details.

This is incredibly hard to do, and I've never seen it happen in play. But one day it will happen, I am sure of it, and super excited for it. :D

I got the picture of a dwarfen lady poking bad ass looking, meditating Nutesh with glowing eyes with a long gnarly stick from outside a warding circle out of my head. Bonus points for the ancient ghost, standing a few meters (sorry, but imperial is bullshit :P) off, shaking her head in disbelief.
I nominate Lilly for a humor trait point.

I think the bar for humor is going to be quite difficult to clear in PBP. I think I am okay agreeing with this, it is a funny image.

Clearing and revising per earlier Discord convos...
"The appearance of power is power itself" was the first lesson of Alagash. I will use the power of his name to secure what I need to go find the Red Diamond.
Holding this one fulfilled. (His using the appearance of power to provide help in the DoW acted towards it; the opportunity otherwise is now passed.)

"The appearance of power is power itself" was the first lesson of Alagash. I will overcome my fear of these creatures so as to remain respected among the group.
Summoning is the folly of the mad. I will convince others not to summon beings too powerful for human ken, like Algash did.
This was oriented to create intra-party interaction, but our Summoner PC is gone.

Summoning is the folly of the mad. I will keep Sabit and her misguided cult from pushing Suen into dangerous action.
I must learn magic to restore Ku-Aya to me permanently. I will find knowledge in Tekomel.
This is still good. :)

...does that look okay to everyone? Happy for discussion.

I like the change, as the second Belief won't trigger now, and the update to the first is a great response to events.

How does the rest of the group feel about the first Belief? Was it well fulfilled?

Hm, Suen did what he could to bring in Algash... that being said, it wasn't all that relevant to the story...

Well fulfilled is an excellent question for a vote. ;)

A clarification, though... my original intent was that the "Alagash's name" would be possible by using his Infamous Reputation on a circles test. They way we started didn't really lend to that, so my intent shifted to using the lesson itself (appearing powerful to win the DoW) and referencing "great wizards" was what I thought brought in Alagash, but objectively that was rather oblique. Also... the action came down more or less to one post (but perhaps that's just "the right moment" in Play by Post).

The raven alights on his shoulder, its feathers smoking, as he also fixes the man with his imposing gaze. "The ways of the great wizards come with me," Nutesh says, describing some aspect of the ritual Mekertu has alluded to. "The last king, a wizard himself, began things you no longer comprehend - you apply grease but do not understand the wheel. You will come - You can only honor your people by doing so as otherwise nothing prevents the next catastrophe, draught, or harm. As he says, we deserve your aid, as no other will come that cares for your people."

What are we asking here? If it has earned a Persona point as a Personal Goal? I'd say yes if you consider Nutesh considers having Mekertu as a second guide the "what I need to go find the Red Diamond"

If not, does Nutesh need permission to change a Belief?

Well I'm gonna advocate for myself a bit:
  1. I'd say Oathsworn veered us into a nice direction with the Herzebuh scene.
  2. I'll also make the argument that tanking the Akhom attack and forcing him down under my firm, armoured grip is the quintessential Tough girl move

Hm, both drove play but neither caused her any trouble... Sorry... :/

Let me nominate Nutesh for all the Artha he deserves before he gets eaten  :

1) 1 Fate for the 'Always check for ambushes and tails through Carrock's eyes.' Instinct got that distracted him and isolated him during the attack

2) 1 Fate for the Marked Character Trait which I'm gonna chose to belief was the reason the jackal spirit picked him

3) 1 Fate for the Gifted Trait for both triggering into Lawbreaker and dropping Nutesh!

I agree with all three!
Farouk and Bassam are with Nutesh because Farouk followed his Belief to have an eye on Nutesh. I think that's worth a Belief-Fate as well.

I also agree. So tons of Fate for Nutesh and one for Farouk!
