I think I did this right...
Yes you got it right.

Current initiative order is...
Bandit 4 = 10
Bandit 2 = 8
Bandit 1 = 4
Bandit 3 = 2
Rudolfus = 0

Now for Heinrich and Lord Reynolds...

I am struggling with enough time to dedicate to learning this. Much different than maintaining a d&d game...

ok, this guy sounds like a nice enough fellow.

So init would be?
ability+2
polearm +3
encumbrance (+-?)
Dice roll (init [1d10] = 10)
=15-encumbrance?

The values I copied over were the final values.
So ini is only +2.
Isnt that a possible botch if you rolled a 10? Not sure how that works in the initiative.

Onlyme here is the grog's sheet. I included the final totals for weapons but in hind sight I shouldn't have, so I'm removing them. You will learn more if you add the totals yourself...

The formula for initiative is: Quickness+Weapon Initiative Modifier-Encumbrance+1d10 (stress roll)
So it would look like this...
Quickness +1
Pole Axe Init Modifier +1 (page 176)
Encumbrance -0
Stress Die roll 1d10 = 10 (Your roll of 10 on a stress die is a possible botch. Roll 1d10 again. If you get anything other than 10 add 0 to your initiative. A result of 10 negates all modifiers and means your initiative total is 0. :shock: )

So you will either wind up with a 2 or a 0.

-------------------
Angus the Berserker

-2 Intelligence
-1 Perception
-1 Presence
-1 Communication
+3 Strength
+2 Stamina
+2 Dexterity
+1 Quickness

Size:+1
Age:15
Virtues:Covenfolk, Berserk,Large
Flaws:Short Attention Span, Wrathful

Weapons:
Pole axe: Init +1; Atk +5; Dfn 0; Dam +11
Fist: Init 0; Atk 0; Dfn 0; Dam 0
Kick: Init -1; Atk 0; Dfn -1; Dam +3

Soak:+9(Stamina, metal full scale)

Fatigue Levels:5 (OK, -1, -3, -5, Unconscious)

Wound Penalties:
-1 (dmg 1-6)
-3 (dmg 7-12)
-5 (dmg 13-18)
Incapacitated (dmg 19-24)

Wounds:None

Abilities:
1 Area Lore (streams)
2 Athletics (running)
3 Awareness (attackers)
3 Brawl (kicking)
1 Guile (apologizing)
5 Great Weapons (pole axe)
5 Native Language (insults)
1 Single Weapon (Heater Sheild)
3 Survival (hills)

Equipment:
Pole axe
full scale armor, metal

Encumbrance:0(3-str 3)

Hey. Rudolfus has a total of zero without botching at all. But only because he's a lumbering oaf...

Current initiative order is...
Bandit 4 = 10
Bandit 2 = 8
Heinrich = 5 oops forgot Heinrich!
Bandit 1 = 4
Bandit 3 = 2 (Qik 2)
Angus = 2 (Qik 1)
Rudolfus = 0

Ok the round will proceed in this order for the rest of the combat. We only roll initiative once like 3e/4e D&D.

I'll post attacks by this evening.

Bandit 4 fires his short bow at Rudolfus.
[1d10] = 3
+2 (dexterity) +5 (Bows ability) +3 (Shortbow attack modifier) +3 (stress die roll) = 13

Rudolfus roll a defense roll.
You do not get a defense modifier from a weapon against missile attacks, only shields, so the roll is as follows...
Quickness + Combat Ability (Single Weapon for hammer) + Stress Die.

You need a 13 or better to avoid damage.

Bandit 2 charges Heinrich and attacks with his spear!

[1d10] = 1
[1d10] = 2

+2 (dex) +4 (Great Weapon ability) +3 (spear attack mod) +4 (stress die roll) = 13

Heinrich roll a defense roll.
The roll is as follows...
Quickness + Combat Ability (Brawl for a knife) + Weapon defense mod + Stress Die.

You need a 13 or better to avoid damage.

Got a 1 followed by a 2 as well...

2dex+8brawl+0mod+4=14!

Heinrich barely manages to let the spear pass by him, dodging left before trying to make that bastard pay:He nearly stdains his ankle [exert fatigue level, that adds my attack mod twice? ] as he suddenly springs forward to pass by Bandit 2, trying to make a vicious stab with a wide swinging right.

Roll: 6

2dex+7brawl+1mod+10exertion+6=26

Can you exert more then one level per round? Like for attack and defense?

-1(Qik) + 4(+2 puissant) + 2 = 7
So I failed by 6... Uh oh...
So it looks like, unless the bandit has a strength of 0 or less, I'll suffer a medium wound (if I calculated his damage minus my soak (4) correctly...)

Bandit 2 Defense Roll
[1d10] = 3
+2 (Quickness) +4(Great Weapon ability) +1(spear defense mod) +3(stress die roll)= 10
The bandit is surprised by the ferocity of Heinrich's attack and fails to dodge the incoming blow!

Attack advantage: 26(Heinrich's Attack)-10(Bandit's defense)=16

Damage: 16(Attack Advantage) +2(Heinrich str) +2(Knife Damage mod)=20

20 (damage) - 3 (Bandit's stamina and armor soak)=17

Bandit size is 0 so 17 is an Incapacitating wound! (See chart on page 171)

Heirich's blade punches through the leather armor into the Bandits side. Bandit 2 drops his spear and falls to the ground clutching at the wound.

Heinrich status: Weary -1 to all rolls
Bandit 2 status: Incapacitated

Damage: 6(attack advantage) +1(Bandit str) +6(Short bow dam mod)= 13
13(damage) -4(Rudolfus stamina and armor soak) =9

Rudolfus is size 0 (1-5=Light; 6-10=Medium; 11-15=Heavy; 16-20=Incapacitating). 9 points is a Medium wound.

Rudolfus status: 1 medium wound -3 to all rolls.

Bandit's 1 and 3 turn...

Bandit 1 rushes forward and attacks Rudolfus with his axe.
[1d10] = 5
5(roll)+12(Dex+Ability+Weapon mod)=17

Rudolfus please roll defense against a 17. Quickness + Combat Ability (for hammer) + Weapon defense mod + Stress Die.

Bandit 3 rushes forward with an enraged battle cry when he sees his ally fall to Heinrich's blade. He slashes with a short sword.
[1d10] = 10
[1d10] = 9
In his rage the bandit gets careless and makes a clumsy attack!
0(roll) +11(Dex+Ability+Weapon mod)= 11

Heinrich please roll defense against 11.

Assuming we were fresh at the beginning of the fight there is still the fatigue level "winded" before "weary".
