#1 Post by drpete »

Step One:

Roll 6 sets of 3d6:
STR:
AGI:
STA:
PER:
INT:
LUK:

Decide if you want to swap two. Note, there are 3 classes, fair, thief and wizard.

Then, roll d30+luck bonus, then d8, or choose home territory,
d20+luck bonus for benison, dand d20-luck bonus for doom.

STR: --- 12 --- 11 --- 5 ---- 7 ---- 13 --- 17
AGI: ---- 6 ---- 11 --- 11 --- 12 --- 12 --- 4
STA: ---- 8 ---- 9 ---- 8 ---- 11 --- 16 --- 7
PER: --- 13 --- 13 --- 9 ---- 7 ---- 11 --- 13
INT: ---- 8 ---- 14 --- 12 --- 15 --- 8 ---- 9

Now to take a look and see where all that leaves me . . .

Hmmm, sorry. Think I didn't say that clearly...

Just roll 6 3d6 rolls, one for each stat, using the dice roller, rather than 6 character sets.

lol, that's more like the DCC I remember.

[3d6] = 13, [3d6] = 7, [3d6] = 4, [3d6] = 9, [3d6] = 11, [3d6] = 11

So:

STR: 13
AGI: 7
STA: 4
PER: 9
INT: 11
LUK: 11

Switch stamina and personality.

STR: 13 (+1)
AGI: 7 (-1)
STA: 9
PER: 4 (-2)
INT: 11
LUK: 11

Lucky Roll [1d30+0] = 10+0 = 10

Lucky Roll: Born Under the Loom, Luck affects skill checks (including thief skills)

Ouch :)

So, not being yet completely used to the dcc "curve", I'll offer you a few bonus points to distribute among your stats... think you can do something with 5 extra points?

Then, decide if you want to swap two stats, then roll d30+luck mod, then a d20+luck mod, then d20- luck mod

So those rolls tell me that he's from the Eastern Lands (sort of middle eastern). You get Low Lankhmarese as a language, and either Horborixic (language of the eastern Cities) or Desert-Speak (Language of the desert nomads) as a native language.

He's got "immigrant upbringing"... this means that you were raised in the Eastern Lands, but your family is from somewhere else. You get a choice of culturally specific benisons from the area your family came from.

And a "dependent"... someone he is responsible for (a spouse, child, parent, sibling or something.

Continuing our journey, we cross the Sea of the East to the Eastern Lands on its far shore. The River Tilth empties into the Sea of the East and marks the westernmost verge of a massive desert. This arid land is the Great Eastern Desert and home to the empire of the King of Kings, perhaps the greatest potentate in Nehwon—or at least to those under his dominion. The capital of his empire is the citadel-city of Horborixen, second only to Lankhmar in size and splendor. There the King of Kings rules his demesne from his gilded court, surrounded by his wives, concubines, ministers, and devoted assassins.

Easterner is a broad term for any native of Horborixen and its subject cities as well as the various tribesmen from the arid desert lands beyond the River Tilth. Easterners are a more homogenized culture than those of the Inner Sea region, seldom intermarrying outside their own people. Easterners are therefore usually tan or ruddy in complexion and nearly always have dark hair and eyes. Their culture, customs, and architecture somewhat resembles that of the Earth’s Middle East and arabesque flourishes and motifs are prevalent in the Eastern Lands. Easterners respect both skill in battle and in trade and it’s common to find steely-eyed assassins lounging with fat merchants in the kasbahs of Eastern cities. Easterners venerate a multitude of gods and spirts, some of whom make their way to the Street of the Gods in Lankhmar via wild-eyed desert holy men and women.
