Seeing his brothers rush in, Onn keeps from fainting at the sight of the giant spider (I hates spiders..)

Onn will disengage from the spider, taking guarded steps to back away from the reach of the spider's viscous fangs. He will then retrieve some throwing daggers and attack:

OOC: Not sure if I can disengage safely and attack in same round so I roll attack anyway and DM can let me know when it actually goes off.

Day 1, Turn 11 - The Shaft


Round 1

Party Initiative: [1d6] = 1, Monster Initiative: [1d6] = 5

Segments: Huge Spider 1st, Party 5th, Onn/Lipput 6th, Pol n/a


While fiddling for his throwing daggers Onn attempts a disengaging maneuver...

[1d100] = 65

...but the huge green spider's mandibles, dribbling with ichor lash out before he can move out of reach.

Huge Spider attack: [1d20] = 15, Damage: [1d6] = 3

Onn is bitten on the arm and it burns!. He steps back...


Could Onn do a Save vs. Poison with a +2 bonus please?

Onn still has is daggers with him. I gave the chance of dodging out since the declaration priority was to disengage. Attempting to do so prevents doing at attack action.


A war-cry complete with doppler effect "AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAARGH!!!" comes rising out of the darkness and Theket comes into the scene running like a locomotive. His magical scimitar cracks down smack on the head of the arachnid, smashing one of its eyes and the thing recoils in pain.

While the beast is still positioning itself to face this newly arrived menace Lipput arrives with longsword and shield raised. He to pokes the head of the huge spider, gently, with the tip of hid blade and the being's body drops to the floor. The eight legs quiver slightly then go still while a greenish-black liquid oozes from the ruin of its head to form a nice circular puddle on the floor.

As the trio is gathering their wits and noticing the arachnid is indeed dead (Onn not so much as his as hurts like heck), in comes Ull walking casually like if he was on a troll, where it not for the fact he's is armed...then again, he usually goes armed on strolls anyways.

Meanwhile Pol finishes his climb down the shaft and sees none of his brothers are around. The sounds of fighting ensuing further in the distance seems to have stopped.

Ull gets to the site of carnage and says, "Why couldnt you save this one for me? I miss all the fun..."

Pol walks up nonchalantly to the rest of the group. "I've got the rope," he says. "What's the matter with you guys? All that screaming was very distracting during my climb. I almost fell."

"You guys wanna rest up here for a while?"

Ooc: Otherwise the next fight may be the last for some of us...

Theket thinks for a moment and says,"Mebbe since we is smaller we need less rest?"

Ull nods. I think a good nap is in order. Just wake me when it's my shift.

He will proceed to find a comfortable spot to lie/lean.

Day 1, Turn 11 - Near the Shaft


As luck would have it, Ull notices that on the left side of the pipe (the direction whence the spider that assaulted Onn came) there is some form of recess or hole. It may prove to be a nice napping place.

Ull shows his brothers the spot and attempts to explain how he should get the 5th and last watch shift, since he was the one who so cleverly discovered this vacation spot...

He will proceed to get in napping position, hoping they agree amongst the 4 of them who gets shifts 1-4.

Theket says, "I will take the first shift with blacktooth since you is all actin' like sissies." And he swings blacktooth around carelessly.

Once all his brothers are asleep, he will wait thirty minutes and then wake the nearest one and tell him it's his shift.

Lipput stays awake with Theket; though he sits down and leans against the wall; resting. Looking over at Ull he says; "You should check'n that hole for any more creepy-crawlers first."

Good point. I read into the description that he had already done that.

Ull will check for critters as part of his nap placement processs.

Day 1, Turn 11 - Near the Shaft


As it has been over 48 hours since I requested it during combat and Onn has not complied I will have to do the roll for him.

Save vs. Poison: [1d20+2] = 13+2 = 15

The pain in Onn's arm that was bitten by the spider begins to subside and soon he gets his feeling back on that limb.

Ull checks the hole on the left side pipe. It is obviously the result of wear and tear, the "passage" is sufficiently large for two of the brothers to go trough side-by-side while the roughly oval recess beyond has more than twice enough space for the entire party to rest comfortably. There are no critters in sight, but on a corner rests an orange-colored bottle covered in silver wire with a gold stopper. It looks expensive and normal-sized, which means in reality the bottle must be about 1/7th of an inch tall.

Onn thanks the dark one for having him live a little longer and he takes a nap.

Theket says, "Dunno what it is. But how did it get there? I bet it woulda broken if it fell down the drain and rolled. Ain't you gonna get any sleep?" He tries to peer quizzically at Ull, but it ends up in just a mostly blank stare.

With the question at hand, Ull calls out, "eh, just wake me for my watch". and will finish his nap placement and try to catch some zzz's.

As Ull is falling sleep, but before he begins snoring, the other brothers in the "alcove" begin hearing the sound of something approaching from further down the direction of the pipe they had been traveling towards.

click-clack, click-clack, click-clack, cick-clack...

Whatever it is it sounds remarkably like the giant spider they just slain, and it is getting nearer...

Theket readies his shortbow, nocks an arrow, steps into the shadows, and whispers "Shhhhh, let's get the drop on it."

Ull jumps up a mouthin his normal orcish profanities, and grabs his shortsword. He will stand ready to attack whatever eats his brothers.
