Glimble sighs shrugs and takes out his hand crossbow then follows the rest into the alley.

Once in the alley, the man turns on his heels quickly and says, "Sorry about all that. You look like adventurers who stumbled into this place on accident. I'm not from here, I'm from the city, and I help people who ended up here on accident. I can get you a ship out of this place, or if you are looking for more adventure, there is a mercenary company that would take on folks such as you. You'll need protection or your going to need to blend in a bit more or you will become quick targets."

Tella - Elf Mage

Making her way into the alley but keeping a decent distance between herself and the man: Are we so easy to detect as outsiders? More to the point: why would you even ponder helping us?

OCC: Anyone have detect evil ready to go?

Tantos Vek, failed paladin:

Vek said to the good samaritan: "Thanks. What can you tell us about the Fat Man, and this?" as he held out the evil wizard's symbol.

Glimble OOC: Nope no evil detection on me. "How is it that it is so obvious we are outlanders and yet nobody attacked us?" the gnome asks the man bluntly.

The man grunts at your questions.

You are easy to spot, a hybrid of surface races, nobody with cloaks up over their faces. Nobody will attack you in public, drawing attention to oneself can bring down the skulls. I was lucky not to bring them with my little display with the troll. Nah, the if any of the skum have noticed you, they will figure out if you owe allegiance to anyone down here and then try to capture you for the slave pits. If they get too obvious there are flying human skulls, which lay out a chaotic order of sorts over this place. They like to keep business running smooth. I've never heard of the fat man, but that symbol does look familiar to me, I've seen it from time to time on cages of slaves paraded down the main concourse.

"Who are you?" Vek rasped from beneath his great helm. "And where do these slave carts go, after the parade?"

Ganon:

Quietly and hopefully hidden in dark shadows, Ganon puts away his short sword and dons the hood of his cloak, concealing his human features. He stay in the shadows and listens to the exchange.

Thorax first looks up to see if anyone is above, and then turns to watch in the event anyone follows them into the alley.

Glimble begins fussing with his cloak trying to figure out a way to make it cover his face. "Confounded cloak, how the..." more mumbling and frustration as the cleric struggles to accomplish his task with the cloak. Finally managing something quite silly looking "Eh like this then? Blast this wont do...." the gnomes nose gets in the way and he ends up looking quite silly with his cloak fastened trying to cover his face the cloak hanging over his nose and parting by the mouth looking like a odd cloak mustache just above the nose not below it. The gnome stands there looking quite foolish then he undoes the odd setup and fastens his cloak back to the normal fashion. "Gah I give up, may have to buy something else to make that work."

Cormack maintains his guard both against this stranger and also any others who pass by the mouth of the ally. He allows himself a smirk as Glimble attempts to "blend-in" with the normal attire of denizens in the city.

In answer to Vek, the stranger puts on a grim visage,"Most of the slaves are taken to what folks call Skull Island for keeping, or to the Slave Markets in the lower port."

He steps back and looks about, "Listen, I may have said too much already, out here in the open where anyone could be listening. Would you be willing to come with me for a few minutes? I'd like to tell you a few things in a safer place. There is an inn, not too far from here, called DeepFires which is one of the only "safe" places in all of Skull Port. I could give you an idea of the layout of Skull Port, before you go wandering off and getting killed. You seem like decent folk, and there aren't many of those down in the dark..."

Glimble shrugs "We know not if we can trust anyone down here. Your self included no offense. How do we know you are not leading us to a trap good sir?" the gnome asks bluntly.

Vek eyed the stranger as he nodded at Glimble's words. Then the grim warrior set his feet and repeated, "Who are you?"

My name is Altos, a fighter and mercenary. I do a bit of recruiting for several mercenary companies. I'm always on the look for adventurers like yourselves, there are many jobs that don't call for monstrous skills, if you understand me. Just come with me to The Deepfires, look at the inn and if it looks safe to you, we can go in and I'll say my piece, and buy you a beer.
