OCC Talk
Re: OCC Talk
I just created a campaign on the dice roller. ID is 973. Hopefully I set it up right and you can start making characters. I like to use method 1 from the DMG, and the guidance from the PHB that a character should have at least two stats of 15 or higher. So roll six numbers using Method 1. If you meet the two 15s requirement, those are your stats. Arrange them in the order you want. If not, roll a new set of six numbers. Repeat until you have at least two that are 15 or higher.
Later today I’ll start a character creation thread and post this as a sticky.

Re: OCC Talk
To save people from looking it up
Method 1
All scores are recorded and arranged in the order the player desires. 4d6 are rolled, and the lowest die (or one of the lower) is discarded

Re: OCC Talk
That is the most popular method in my experience.

Re: OCC Talk
Just so that we are all having the same understanding, for you does 1e include Unearthed Arcana or not.
Re: OCC Talk
I’ll let the players decide if we’re using UA. Should we vote on it?
Re: OCC Talk
I would always vote to make the GM happy first, but if you really do not care either way I do enjoy it.
Re: OCC Talk
I’m pretty flexible when I run a game. I can make it work either way.

Re: OCC Talk
Whatever works for the DM is good by me but as stated above I too enjoy the UA if we get that as an option.

Re: OCC Talk
I am fine either way as far as UA goes. Some of the stuff is handy in it for sure.

Are we starting at first level?

Stats [4d6c1]=16 [4d6c1]=8 [4d6c1]=11 [4d6c1]=10 [4d6c1]=15 [4d6c1]=17 got lucky first try and got 2 over 15.
Mulling over what I will make.

Re: OCC Talk
That’s three yes votes for UA, so UA it is. Here are the minimum starting hit point rules:
Magic-user 3
Illusionist 3
Thief 4
Assassin 4
Monk 5
Cavalier 6
Paladin 6
Cleric 5
Druid 5
Fighter 6
Barbarian 7
Ranger 9
If you roll lower than this for starting hit points, use this number instead.

Re: OCC Talk
I've got the stats for it and kind of toying with this idea of attempting a Cavelier character. Probably a Half-Elf. Not 100% deadset on this yet but it is a class I've never run.

Re: OCC Talk
Gruz Axebasher (Dwarf Male Fighter)
He is a caramel skinned dwarf that has an expressive feel about him. His shoulder-length, curly, black hair is wild. He has a full beard with three tied up pieces at the bottom. He has a long face with a rounded jaw, a narrow nose, large ears and angled lips. His sunken brown eyes are big, and he has fine eyebrows. He has toned arms, a thick torso with a straight waist, and short legs.

Re: OCC Talk
The other idea I'm toying with is a Gnome Illusionist. Again something I've never played other than when I made an NPC one to try and help train a player in game. Stats would fit for that as well. I'm more leaning towards this which is unusual since I typically avoid spell casting unless it is divine.

Re: OCC Talk
Very nice rolling Ed. Seems a good set to experiment with since you have lots of flexibility.
Re: OCC Talk
I am going to run a Half-Orc Cleric/Thief to try something different. What would the options for Deities/Religions?
Re: OCC Talk
Work in-progress
HP [1d8]=5 [1d6]=5
Starting gp [3d6]=12 [2d6]=4
Thinking this through, would you allow a Halfling Druid/thief? Both classes are allowed to a Halfling in 1E, but it doesn't mention that combo.
