Re: Strategy thread
Bound to be some undead in the chapel - how about checking the other passage first just to see there isn't a pile of jewels and women at the end?
Re: Strategy thread
Skarlos I'm shocked!..."Bound to be some undead in the chapel.....jewels and women...?"
one would not know who is the cleric here and who is the thief?

Skarlos is from a very liberal wing of the church - way out there.

Party vote - do you feel trueseeing would be wasted here or useful?
Re: Strategy thread
So any ideas what going on down the end of the hall? Is it a hold person in effect or something else? Do you think the dude on the ground is a gnome?
Re: Strategy thread
Not sure. Some sort of illusion or other evil magic. Don't want to get too close and get trapped like McCloud.
Re: Strategy thread
Hold Person or Paralyzation with no save... Stinks either way, and yes I think True Seeing would indeed clue us in on something, but check the range.
Re: Strategy thread
I vote for the true seeing spell as well.
BTW I will be out of town for new years so will not be able to post until the 1st or 2nd.

Re: Strategy thread
You know thinking a little more on what to stone shape the stone into why not a ramp so it rolls up and falls on it's side you know get the thing off balance I doubt it can right it's self could be a good idea.

Re: Strategy thread
Interesting idea.
Picture a steamroller. Now picture how big of a ramp you'd need to topple a steamroller on its side. Imagine how much stone you'd need to build such a thing. Probably more than 16 cubic feet, is what I'm suggesting.

Re: Strategy thread
true I'd not put all the math into it but it was kind of a hey you know ... type of sudden idea.

Re: Strategy thread
well here is my thinking if we don't get the answer about what the stone shape is going to do I can cast a few spells that might help us. I have Cone of cold unless it is immune to cold.....wall of fire unless it is unable to be harmed by fire....web unless it is too strong for that.........lightning bolt, fire arrow and stinking cloud... but I assume we still want to get past it.

I agree we don't block completely as we need to leave room for us to get past Ellie

I have been informed my web will only slow the thing not keep it held.

Re: Strategy thread
Pillars seem fine, though I don't think you'll be able to do one in back of the rollers because the wall of force is still up. Waiting until the wall of force goes down seems very dangerous, no? And I don't think a 3-4' wall presents a problem either. Adventurers, I think it's safe to assume, can easily climb such a wall...
If Bagrin were awake, he'd be like, "Tor's beard, just do SOMETHING!" I mean, it's just the tomb of horrors, guys. What's the worst thing that can happen?
