Re: OOC Lounge
Glad to be here.
One quick question, what is the campaign ID for the game? I was going to get started with character generation but I figured I should link it first.
cheers.

Re: OOC Lounge
I am liking the idea of being a Tharagian Barbarian
Appearance: Dressed in wolf-skin cloaks and tall boots of wolverine-fur, these barbarians of the north have long, yellow beards, white skin, and piercing blue eyes.

Re: OOC Lounge
Any advice on how you want us to handle life events?

I'm sorry for lagging on this. I'm having issues with a hernia that's been nothing but distracting. I promise to get back this

Re: OOC Lounge
No worries. Just let me know via PM if/when you want to do it.

No complaints. I am not moving very quickly on getting my character finished either...

Re: OOC Lounge
There's a third player that indicated his interest but I haven't heard from him lately. I sent him a PM to gauge whether or not he or she is still willing to play. Throwing it out there, I'm not comfortable with just two players. I can do it, but it sort of limiting. At this point, I'm considering a NPC.
If there is no response, how do you fill about playing a secondary character?

Re: OOC Lounge
No worries. I'm still here. RL has been busy between Halloween and changes at work. I will be working on a thief for the group.
Re: OOC Lounge
I have a couple questions.
1. Are we using ascending or descending AC?
2. Are we using the Cultures of Xoth, such as Savage, Nomadic, Civilized, etc. ? If so, do we get the corresponding bonuses and penalties?
Plus, I've written my background. But can change it depending on how you want to handle life events.

My rolls were horrible. Please tell me we were supposed to roll 4d6 drop the lowest.

Re: OOC Lounge
Rolled my life events.
*Caught up in Street Gang War
*Spent a season disarming death traps left by the Ulmari Trapmasters
*Survived epidemic of Bone Melting Plague
I've added these events to my characters background and their corresponig bonuses to the notes section of my character sheet.

Re: OOC Lounge
I can't help RL holding me back and I apologize. I had surgery for my hernia and I slept A LOT.
Getting back to things....
Life Events. Ugh. The book's version which is faithful to Zarth is mostly incompatible with the world of Xoth setting, so I'm going to improvise.
Tharagians will use the Ice Coast table.
Taraamites will use the Free Territories Table.
ybn1197, when you pick your race, let me know and I'll tell you which table for Phase 1 to use. Also, your character is a dud with those rolls. Reroll your stats, using 3d6 and arrange to suit (I should have stated this at the beginning, so I'm just going to add this now as a house rule for any future players).
Please keep in mind the setting of Xoth when interpreting the life events; make it fit the setting. Use your imagination when filling in the blanks. I'm fine with a little editorial license.
Roll normally for Phase 2 using your corresponding class.
Griffin, are you using the 1st edition?

I'll get on this tomorrow. Hopefully your recovery goes well.
