Stefan raises his glass then continues to sit in the corner, quietly, watching the other denizens of the taproom.

Ulfang Chainbreaker, barbarian:
"Mighty four!" Ulfang bellowed. "Forget not Thurgot the Wise!"
Ulfang knew that a rift in the ranks of fighting men could prove deadly. In healing that rift, the Viking priest may have just saved the Company.
The barbarian drained his tankard and called for another round.

Thanks Inf, but credit due where credit's due. The only thing Thurgot did in the arena was practice Norse folk dances - you 3 save his a**
"And the next round on me-he-hiq!" belches Thurgot

NARRATOR
Black Adder busies himself filling drinks and thanks the barbarian for the coin even though it is not needed. He brings out a large platter of seasoned chicken wings for the champions to consume as a victory feast along with several loafs of honeyed bread and bowls of butter.

NARRATOR
As the company of the Jagged Rose rejoice in their great arena Victory and eat and drink their fill, two guests enter the tavern that by all accounts should not be there.
A Valley Elf Fighter and a Human Fighter/Thief walk into the Balding Platypus and rent rooms from Elsa as Black Adder serves the company of the Jagged Rose. They both look very accomplished and are visibly covered in magical items for those that can sense such things (Barbarian). They sit in the center of the taproom and are joined by what appears to be three city guardsmen with Red Cloaks. They break bread with these gnomes and drink with them over conversation. They appear to be out of place even still. There is something about these two that pulls at the companies attention.
Sotha Sil retires to his room after eats and drinking another spiced ale and bids that the rest of the company do the same.

Ulfang Chainbreaker, barbarian:
The big, black-maned barbarian was in a great mood. Happy to meet more adventurers that were out of place in a "civilized" city, he bought them a round and smiled, "Welcome. I'm Ulfang. What brings you to the city of little gnomes?"

NARRATOR
The two adventurers accept the round of drinks and reply;
WESNOTH LOGALMIER
" Thank you for the drink Ulfang. We are in search of reward. My friend Kerik here grew up in the small Hamlet south of here called Speilberg. When he was young The lord of Speilberg ( Turgoz Tenhammer went in search of a fabled Periapt rumored to be hidden in a cave complex in this region. Turgoz and his men never returned. The Hamlet of Speilberg being without its leader and men to guard it fell to gnolls and is now a burnt out ruin. We seek to find what happened to Turgoz and his men, and possibly this Periapt in the hopes that its sale could restore Speilberg.
KERIK GUDRUN
Kerik just stares at the Barbarian taking full measure of him with his arms crossed in front of his chest. He pauses only to check his weapons and take a long pull off his free drink.

Re: Balding Platypus Inn
Synth, does Ulfang have any information on the whereabouts of Turgoz or the Periapt? Thanks.

Nobody in the group has any information about these things. The Hamlet of Spielberg was very small, a hundred or so residents. When it fell few noticed due to its remote location. Turgoz was the Lord of the Hamlet , 30 years have past since his disappearance. This is all I can reveal at this time.

Ulfang Chainbreaker, barbarian:
Ulfang stopped smiling. "I'm sorry for your troubles. As you've likely heard, our company soon rides for an evil temple that is summoning dark forces to it. It might just hold a captive like Turgoz, or information on where he is. If you like, talk to the wizard Sotha Sil and see if he will let you ride with us. I hope you find your lost lord."

No troubles friend we make leave for the Hamlet of Spielberg in the morning. The rabble that sacked it have no doubt moved on and something else takin their place. We shall clear. It if we must. Our goal is to find some clue hidden in the keep that will lead us to the cave. If you find yourself a days travel south of here pass by the keep, we will leave food and water behind along with a map should you care to assist us. I am sure the is loot a plenty for all in this cave.

Synth, we're going south, right?
Right now we have the Temple and the Orc Slavers. Can we handle a third job?
Thanks.

This is a side mission I have crafted and added to the module. It is entirely up to the PC'S group to decide if they wish to pursue it. It will go on without the parties involvement regardless. As time goes by things will happen in the background of my campaign based on the decisions you all make together. I like to bring up a lot of options and opportunities for the party as they play. Sometimes so many options the party will need to prioritize them. This creates the feel of real life decisions making an makes the game play more realistic in my honest opinion. So choose wisely which paths you follow because they all lead to separate storylines.

When did Saph and Zen arrive in time frame of all of this conversation?

Stefan approaches the group
"Well gentleman it seems we have several choices on what to do next. Does anyone have a strong feeling for whether the Company of the Jagged Rose begin on the morrow with one of these newer offers of adventure ? Or do we stick around around for a day or two until we venture to the Temple?"

knowing well that the gods sometimes walk the earth in disguise, baiting heroes with sly offers and alluring promises just for sport and a good laugh, whispers to his comrades: "While the evil temple remains clear in our mind's sights, we should stick to that path. If those two are indeed real men and friends, they will be so also when we meet them next time. "

Ulfang Chainbreaker, barbarian:
The gigantic barbarian said, "I don't want to waste more time in this city. The eyes of that evil temple are watching us. Each day, their spies learn more about us and our plans. They know we march against them after the feast. Let's surprise them.
"There's a rancid orc hole southwest of this city. A threat to the gnomes of this vale. Once we move on the Temple of Evil, those legions of orcs will march on our rear flank and have us surrounded and trapped. Let's remove them from the board before we begin the attack on the Temple, surprising our enemies and protecting our rear flank.
"It will also give us a chance to further wet our blades, and learn how to fight as a unit, strengthening us for our final mission. The arena battle helped four of us learn how to work together. This will help us more. We don't want our first fight together to be at the Temple, untested and unacquainted."
