General forum question really, how many posts until I no longer need to have them looked over?

Heh, you never posted in the Introductions MonkeyWrench, so we don't know you exist. :)
I'll get you all approved right away!

This is a game about killing things and taking their stuff so you can become more powerful in order to kill bigger things and take even better stuff.
Alethan: I'm good with NOT pressing our luck this time.
mjulius: That's how I know I'm home.
Pulpatoon: The whole point of PbP is to take the scheduling pressure off the game. We're just chatty because we're so eager!
Scott308: ...everyone should be reminded of just how wonderful the people they play games with here can be in real life.
Leitz: Quality and quantity wise, I think US is the best I've seen.
Paladin: I can promise terror, glory, and riches...or a quick and brutal death.
Inferno: Come on! That's was Vicar's Head, a completely different doomed village!
Rex: I can move to the wait list to let someone else into the game.

Folks, I'll be out of town until the 31st. Pyro should feel free to move Odderick along until then. I have a reserve cleric waiting in the wings, too. Let me know if you need him before we set out.

See you New Year's Eve!

Nice progress guys. We have all the characters acquainted and the Cavalier with the NPC getting the mission. My brother is almost back from Mexico to play Garbonzo and Trindon. But where is Luna Cee - I thought we were gonna have an MU -- would have been nice

well played

JDluna ( Luna Cee the Magic-User (Half-Elf)), Opal (Opal - Boc Maxima the Ranger (Human)), & Canon all seemed to have fallen off the face of the Earth & disappeared!

Anyone already playing the game or any newcomers may pick up Luna Cee & Boc Maxima & or create a new character!

If they come back let them take the characters back!

Anyone take note of the fact that the kidnapped merchants are Mr. and Mrs. Kmart{e}? KMart, missing merchants -- I get it. Funny!

I nominate "Blue Light Special" for our 1st mission title.

Note too that Guido might help us with supplies -- we need a wagon and 2 mules -- 14 hands high -- the Niminis bros will drive!

I would be happy to play Luna Cee for the time being. Just let me know.

Ok, so i see, Stormbrow meets Luna Cee at the Tavern. Ok, then we go from there for the Magic-User.
Better that way since if he was out in the woods with Boc Maxima, i am sure the magic-user would be a little roughed up
& need a day of healing spells & rest!!!

Skradergie

In light of the discussions about marching order.

When we get to the caves Gus will take a traditional thief/elf role in front. On the trip there keep the brothers together and put em where we want an archer.

for what it is worth

game on . . .

I need to go through the party roster again to see what we have, but here are my thoughts so far.

Advance Scout:
I was thinking we could send out an advance scout ahead of the party to scope out the scene. But carefully and quietly. If it gets to hairy, they come back. Definitely no forced encounters with hostiles. Silent running only.

Marching Order:
FORWARD: I was thinking we could have up to three in the forward party. 1 or 2 scouts and an archer/scout if possible.
MIDDLE: The middle would consist of a scout if possible and fighters
REAR: One scout in the rear with a second member.
HORSES: I like the idea of leaving the horses along with a watcher or two. But far enough back that they will be out of the way.

The Valley:
One of Pyro's posts suggested the valley rises from the stream to the top of the valley a total of 100 feet (approx). This would lead me to believe we cannot circle around and come in from the top. I could be wrong on this. We may have no choice but to take the valley in from the river. (DM's are sneaky, be wary here) :)

I have more thoughts but work is calling again, dagnabbit!

If you look at the contour / elevation lines on the map, you will notice that the Borderlands forest gradually slopes upwards from the North Caravan road! So it would be easier to enter from the top than say if it were a steep hill or small mountain you would need to scale. In the valley itself it does drop down steeper quicker.

Gus likes Garbonzo -- that works. And Clem hangs with the brotherhood -- also works.

Gus will miss Oddrick and oppertunities to talk of archery. But, let's get going.

O, also, I need someone to give me a player's map of the borderlands with an initial route drawn on it, you can use MS Paint or Photoscape to do that!
Then make any modifications, & when everyone is happy with the marching order & route, we can start "Chapter 3: A Search Underway", once the party leaves the Keep!

Here are my first thoughts, but I am open to suggestions.

Red line: Roundabout way steering clear of tower. Has potential fro wandering monsters. Low visibility from enemies.

Blue Line: More direct route, steering into the woods near the end. More open for most of the route. Higher visibility from enemies.

Any suggestions??????

thanks for getting that done antman. I say the road less traveled. Plus I have an Elf and 1/2 elf. They will enjoy the woods.
