Cycle 1063 (Winter): Day 2: Shift 3: Hour 7:30 [Hamlet of Gwynedd: 45N,25W]
The group spent hours exchanging stories and sharing recollections from the past eight days in Gwynedd, trying to piece together the bits of information that they had collected. As the hour grew late, you all accepted Gottards offer and slept in the meeting room.
The room had four full-size beds with another four single “Pullman Bunks” that folded down above them if needed. There was a stove to heat the room, a large round table for meeting and many chairs that could be easily rearranged. A large double door opened onto a private balcony furnished as a quiet sitting area.

Cycle 1063 (Winter): Day 3: Shift 1: Hour 7:45 [Hamlet of Gwynedd: 45N,25W]
Shortly before Eight Bells and the start of Second Shift, there was a knock on the door and a muffled male voice heard through the heavy wood door. “Room Service. Your breakfast is here.”

What room has Linkletter been using? Also, what room did he use as a surgery?

Is the voice familiar to Linkletter? Is this expected?
Re: Cycle 1063 (Winter): Day 3
Linkletter has been using "Double #1" as his room since he was trying to conserve money. The recovering patient (Urs) is next door in "Suite #3". His actual surgery was performed downstairs on the Dining Room tables near the Stage (at the time converted to a makeshift Aid Station). You are currently all in the Second Floor "Meeting Room" ... which Gottard has loaned you to help with the investigation.

Re: Cycle 1063 (Winter): Day 3
Through the door, the voice is too nondescript to identify a specific individual. Most of the Servers are female, but there is a male bouncer ("Fist") and a male Bartender that work for Gottard Huss. Of course "Urs" the patient is male, but he is injured and mute.
Room service is available for a small fee, so it is not unknown at the Grogg and Tankard. You, Linkletter, did not order breakfast, but someone else might have or Gottard might have sent it to the room since you were working all night ... (or it could be a trick).
Right now you have a heavy door with a strong bolt that would take a large man with an axe a while to chop through, and a muffled voice from the other side.

Jacques
"Ah good, breakfast." Jacques moves to open the door when he notices Doc's apprehension. "Doctor? Is there a problem?"
He stops short and narrows his eyes. "You suspect something. Tres bien. We will be wary." He moves to gather his pistol.

Re: Cycle 1063 (Winter): Day 3
Remy merely slaps lazily the sword on his belt. He feels naked without it, so of course it's there... a man doesn't remain without pants in mixed company, or without his weapon in any company.
"I'm sure it's nothing", he mutters.

Re: Cycle 1063 (Winter): Day 3
Linkletter will ask quietly, "anyone order breakfast? I didn't and Gottard hasn't sent someone up with food like this before."

Cycle 1063 (Winter): Day 3: Shift 1: Hour 7:46 [Hamlet of Gwynedd: 45N,25W]
Jacques held his pistol and Remy rested a palm on the pummel of his belted sword as Samuel (Linkletter) asked if anyone had ordered breakfast. When Mercutio (Routledge) and Josephine (Baxter-Smith) confirmed that they had not ordered breakfast either, … Samuel’s caution kicked into high gear.
A second knock … “I will leave the tray in front of the door. Maybe you want it later.” said the muffled voice.
Then there was silence at the door.

Jo
Jo is a bit groggy and unresponsive, having slept in her clothes (for modesty's sake).
I'll get the tray- assuming there is one. The rest of you, be ready for anything.
Unless someone stops her, she'll open the door and do just that.

“I'll get the tray- assuming there is one.” said Josephine as she reached up and unbolted the door. “The rest of you, be ready for anything.” she added as she pulled open the heavy door. Jacques, Remy and Samuel stood nearby with weapons ready.
The door halfway open, Jo looked at the floor and saw no tray. She glanced up to see a man halfway down the hall rushing towards the door. [everything seemed to move in slow motion] The man braced a raised arm against the corner of the wall. Jo started to close the heavy door and duck back behind it. A derringer in the man’s hand flashed. Jo could see the cloud of smoke expanding from the barrel. The door stood open just a crack. Pain exploded from Josephine’s shoulder. She slumped to the floor.
“Take care of your onions!” screamed the man from the hall.
**********
Those inside the room saw Jo start to open the door, stop when it was half open, and then abruptly attempt to simultaneously jump back and slam the door closed. Then a bullet punched completely through her shoulder spraying blood behind her. A man in the hall screamed “Take care of your onions!” in broken English as Jo collapsed to the ground with blood rapidly oozing from her wound.

Linkletter will grab Jo and pull her in the room, assuming Jacques and Remy will slam the door shut.

Josephine
Josephine allows herself to be moved and manhandled. She's a bit stunned- her whole body is numb, and there's something wet splattered on her face.
I don't...like...onions.

Re: Cycle 1063 (Winter): Day 3
Does Linkletter recognize the spattering thing in any way? Does it look like a plant or a creature? He will be prepared to start trying to remove it if the others secure the room.
Re: Cycle 1063 (Winter): Day 3
Remy springs towards the door, pulling his sword out of the scabbard on the fly and going after the one that wounded the woman. Those "civilised" people gotta learn that some stuff is simply Not Done.
He's going to look low first, though, to make sure it wasn't a bomb that scared her.

Re: Cycle 1063 (Winter): Day 3
Mercutio briefly considers giving chase, then remembers who he is. He remains in the room with Doc Linkletter and offers the good doctor any assistance he needs in tending to Jo.

Jacques
He helps drag Jo inside and then moves to follow Remy. "Mind your own business? You're giving Frenchmen a bad name, Mon Amie."
If he sees the man and is able to get a clear shot, he'll fire.
