Out of the temple
Re: Out of the temple
Storm looks wide eyed at the amazing dagger offered. That is mighty generous of you warrior.
He looks at his half-elven and halfling friend. If either of you are planning on fighting with two weapons you should take it. Otherwise I would be honoured.

Balasar looks at Storm and nods his head "I may be wiling to exchange spells."Storm11 wrote:Storm nods in agreement. Yes, this evil must be stopped and the woodland cleansed. I am with you if you will have me.
He turns to the half-elven spellblade. Perhaps when we reach the town we can exchange magical instruction?
The halfling thief is proficient in Shortsword. Am not sure whether he is non proficient in sling or dagger. The half-elf fighter/magic-user and myself are proficient in dagger.
Balasar looks at the dagger Phil is offering and tries not to marvel at it for too long "Surely you would offer this to one of your friends we've only just met and it is rather strange to offer a gift to strangers is it not?"redwarrior wrote:Phil Gentlemen, perhaps one of you could make better use of this dagger than I. It seems to somehow channel freezing cold when the mood strikes it. He draws the dagger, allowing its blue glow to shine in the dusk.
Balasar raises a questioning eyebrow to Storm "I've got daggers and a sword so I can already fight with two weapons if I choose friend Storm. But I rather think it strange taking such powerful gifts from folk we only just met and are offering aid to."Storm11 wrote:Storm looks wide eyed at the amazing dagger offered. Re: Out of the temple
Storm laughs genuinely at his kinsmen.
No stranger than letting complete strangers that carry an evil gem that brings wicked creatures to prey on them in the night bed down next to us without question!
He looks at the dagger again and then back at Balasar. I only meant to say that if you or Tolman were likely to use the dagger whenever you were in combat, fighting with your main larger weapons and a dagger it seems more fitting that one of you should have it as you will likely be using it more than i. But if both of you are not keen on fighting with two weapons and prefer mainly to use your swords in combat I would take it, as although I am not planning to get into melee often, I will use it every time I do!

Re: Out of the temple
Balasar replies back to Phil "I politely decline the offer I'd prefer to earn my enchanted weapons, rather than be gifted with them good sir." turning to Storm "This is only my personal philosophy you can take the offered dagger if you so wish." the half-elf offers a polite smile.

Storm shrugs and takes the weapon and slips it into one of his belt scabbards.
Thank you. Very kind. Now, about this gem.

Balasar "Yes the gem or stone whatever it is in the metal box. I do have questions I just figured it would be easier to ask them in our camp."

Re: Out of the temple
Allan introduces himself but is a little standoffish. Not from any ill will towards the new comers, but solely from his own confidence - or lack thereof. His training has pretty much failed him and his fellow adventurers. He needs to rethink his training and how to proceed going forward. His near death experience weighs on him as well.

Balasar watches Allen wondering what going on with that one. "Hmm so I take it from some of the grave looks you have befallen some very ill times. A couple of you look like you've seen your very life flash before you. Might I inquire as to what has happened aside from the tale of your quest?"

Tolman
"I appreciate your very generous offer but I will pass on the magic dagger, my papa always told me to beware gifts from strangers and frankly daggers are not my favorite weapon, I need all the help I can get in the reach department." Tolman says with a chuckle.

Tolman
"How many wee folk have you seen with a polearm Balasar? That may answer your question." Tolman says with a laugh.

Phil shrugs, If we travel together and fight together, it makes sense to make sure we can come to one another's aid. I've already attempted to fight things that could only be hurt by enchanted blades - when I had none. Mind you, it's a nice dagger, that I would be happy to hang on my mantle when I'm old. But mostly, I want to get old.

Re: Out of the temple
It is excellent to make your acquaintance Tolman. Ruthgar indicates as he stretches out. The enchanted weapons were very handy fighting the undead, many of them were not damaged by anything but. One of you should accept the dagger should we encounter more.... consider it a backup. Ruthgar will shrug with a smile. Of course you may already have something similar already.
Last night the gem started to glow brighter and brought a large underground dwelling creature into our midst in the middle of the night. It was able to drop two of our party with ease but we prevailed in the end. Healing magics were able to revive the fallen. I do suspect something similar may happen tonight, unfortunately.GreyWolfVT wrote:Balasar watches Allen wondering what going on with that one. Balasar nods listening and thinking he has figured out why some of the group looks so dire. He replies to Ruthgar "That might explain some of the looks your friends have. Let us hope that it doesn't do that again tonight but I appreciate the warning."

Re: Out of the temple
Toman looks around nervously when he sees 4 pairs of pure white eyes staring at him from the darkness. Suddenly 3 massive hounds whispy and black as night leap into the flickering light of the fire

Tolman yells in shock waking up everyone only to find the hounds among you.
Once hovers over storm and clamps down on his leg (3 damage)
One bounds into Tolman (7 damage)
the last snaps at a just awakening allan whose quick reflexes allow him to roll out of the way.
The gem begins to hum as a soft blue light pulses under the lid of the box.
only tolman can attack this round as everyone else scrambles to their feet and gets weapons.
