Boog and Darvin climb out of the well and while severely disheveled they appear normal. It's not until a few moments pass that strange things begin to occur. When Boog speaks it's like all sound around him falls to a whisper, his voice unnaturally cuts through it like a hot knife through butter. Boog and those around him can see any scrapes, cuts, and bruises he has, seal themselves up and return to perfectly healthy skin.

Darvin's skin turns bright red and he begins to sweat profusely. He feels his body's temperature rise immensely and then stabilize. This causes Darvin to feel drawn to colder environments. Though he feels no other ill effects he can tell warm days or hot environments may be very unsafe. Darvin also begins to feel a strange sense of movement from within the ground, he can feel the footsteps of those in the party, and even unknown footsteps in the south east tower. The sensation is very strange and unnatural.

Corruption Gained:
Boog:
Telltale Mutation- Boog's voice cuts through all other sound.
Perfect Regeneration - Regenerates Wounds within minutes if still alive. Since he only has 1 hit point this really won't take into effect other than for story telling purposes, until he gains more HP at level 1. His body will regenerate all wounds within minutes of taking them, which if Boog survives is quite powerful.

Darvin:
Gains Tremorsense up to 100 yards.
Darvin Now has a much Higher Body Temperature and faces health risks in hot environments, or on hot days.

Darvin, trying to figure out what's going on, crouches like a cat and "listens" to the tremors he is feeling. After a moment he puts one palm down on the ground to "listen" even better. He casts his eyes about as he tries to figure out what his senses are telling him.

"Crow, walk a few steps. Wait, wait, okay now jump up and down!" Darvin has a look of concentration as he works on remembering what the different steps and jumps fell like.

Crow, confused but happy to see Darvin out of the well, does as requested.

After his experiment with Crow, Darvin concentrates and tries to figure out what tremors he feels and exactly where they are to the best he can.

Goratrix the alchemist his very interested in the permutations that have befallen certain party members. It seems he would be willing to forsake the quest for some field study here and now, until his friend Landural dissuades him from it.

"Studies can wait. I say we keep moving and get on with what brought us here."


His sister, Eldarial, nods silently in agreement besides her brother. Young Kunno keeps looking about, excited about the whole thing.

Assuming the party moves towards the tower. If you wish to do otherwise please state your different actions now.

Flanked by crumbling stone walls,
the moss-covered tower stands proud despite the ravages of time. A
tall, rust-bound portal bars the tower’s sole entrance, watched over
by a leering demonic gargoyle. Rings of deep arrow slits pierce the
thick walls, and overarching battlements loom high above.


Nothing else of note can be seen in your visual range and you don't hear anything coming from the tower.

Aengus checks the rust bound portal for any means of opening it from this side.

Bronn keeps his eye on the gargoyle.

Crow watches the arrow slits for activity.

Darvin the Red concentrates on whether he feels any tremors on the other side of the portal, or approaching it.

Boog, looking a bit more wild-eyed than normal, collects himself and moves up with the group. The pull...it was so... Shaking his head, he uncharacteristically quiets himself.

Burt's head snaps toward Boog open hearing him mutter. Quiet man, why so loud?

Heltel eyes both Boog and Darvin suspiciously.

Rolfo shrugs and moves up front.

Kunno seems more interested in the gargoyle and moves near Bronn.

Aengus. Landural, Eldarial and Goratrix find that the door is barred from within and would require a strength check to force open. You all think manual labor with an axe or hammer could also destroy the door.

Bronn and Kunno stare at the demonic gargoyle and see nothing unusual other than it's creepy countenance staring back at them.

Crow sees nothing up in the arrow slits.

Darvin feels 9 presences trembling within the earth of the tower.

Tilmar looks for another possible way into the tower.

Gully goes back to the well. Before looking in, he grabs the chain and wraps it around his wrist. Then, steadying himself, he looks deep into the well, even bending over the rim. He is looking for what is at the bottom, hopefully some turtles.

Mugburt keeps guard attentively.

Darvin the Red refocuses his attention on the crumbling walls flanking the tower to see if he senses anything outside the tower other than his comrades.

Aengus swings his ditch diggers shovel at the door.

Bronn loads his sling and keeps an eye on the upper level of the tower for foes.

Crow examines the crumbling walls for how difficult they would be to climb, and to see whether they appear to lead to some other access to the interior of the tower.

The two elven and the human scholar give Aengus room aplenty as he goes for the door, not wishing to be caught by any ill-aimed blow.

Tilmar looks around and sees the door up on the wall the two creatures they saw earlier enter. Otherwise there don't appear to be other entrances to the tower.

Gully returns to the well on his own and feels a tingling sensation in his mind Make a DC 13 Will Save

Darvin the Red doesn't sense any other movement within his new special senses

Aengus hits the door loudly thudding into it with his ditch diggers shovel. He thinks he'd need an axe or hammer and a good 5 minutes to break through it. Continuing to do this with the shovel will likely break it.

Crow sees a spot on the western wall that may be easier to climb DC 10 instead of DC15 climb check There is also a completely crumbled wall to the north west that appears to lead down and out of the keep.

With none around to save him Gully looks into the Well and tips himself over falling head first down the well full of whispering spirits and cries of anguish. Gully has one last chance to grasp the chain of the well as he falls.

Gully thought wrapping the chain around his wrist would help in case he fell in like his 2 friends, but he nevertheless finds himself in the same peril:

Gully hopes the gods will be favorable to him. He screams and burns as much luck as he needs (unless Tilmar can burn some for him?)

A character can only burn Luck to affect his own die
rolls (except for halflings as noted in their class description).
Luck cannot be burned to affect the die roll
of other characters or monsters, even if they affect the
character. (Note that the character’s Luck modifier
does apply to enemy crits against him, but this Luck
modifier is different from burning off Luck.)


Gully is nearly engulfed by the wailing tainted spirits tugging through his weak flesh rending at his soul. Whether it's divine intervention or pure luck Gully finds the tacky and soft tainted chain and begins to pull himself up. As Gully gets himself halfway up the chain, the damned souls attack and overwhelm him. Gullys body weakens and becomes gaunt in appearance. He continues to climb but the attacks from the wailing spirits make his eyes feel heavy. A few moments later Gully fades into unconciousness

[1d16 + 5] = 3+5 = 8
[1d16 + 5] = 6+5 = 11


You succeeded on burning your luck but the gods did not favor you on the corruption rolls. Gully fell unconcious while climbing the chain. Gully the Woodcutter is no more. :twisted:

Since I only know one player is out I am going to push this thing forward. Please state any actions your characters have otherwise I am going to assume beating down the tower door will be the group action. Same formation used earlier will be used unless you restate your positions.
