OK. If they do assist me I'll spend that point to regain consciousness. I imagine (assuming I'm aided) that we don't want to stick around very long, but if I can also take a round and spend a Luck to recover HP as per the rules for doing so during combat, I'll do that as well.

Question: do luck spends need to be declared as part of the initial rule, or do they get declared after you see the results?

They can be declared afterwards... within some reason, I guess. If you wanted to spend some luck on that recovery roll, or someone wanted to give you some fleeting luck, that's fine, but once it's pretty clearly onto the next thing for a while, I'd say no... at this point, I'd say it's too late to add luck to your find traps check, for example.

Sure, that makes sense. I was actually trying to figure out if I could roll for Open Locks and then decide to declare luck...but an extra 1d3 HP might be the difference between life and death later today. I'll do that as well.

I thought I get a +2 for luck to hit for some background I had or something. I see the note I have on my sheet that says I get +2 for luck for my to hit rolls but can't remember where I got it.

Ah, right... that's for using Rabbit's Foot, your lucky weapon. Then, in addition to what you have been rolling, you get z +1 to damage for strength.
