Ruthgar:

To Sandarin: Agreed brother. Do you have thoughts on how this might be accomplished?

Perhaps dropping a sarcophagus lid onto it...? with a shrug.

If it is evil, maybe holy water or a good cleric's blessing? Or I could try to smash it with my sword? Maybe there's something in the box from the evil priest's room to deal with it?

sandarin shrugs, it is powerful magic I don;t now if it can be destroyed in a conventional way. maybe someone can carry it in a chest, I can;t get close enough it pulls at my very soul.

Yes, I fear that it may not be trivial to destroy.

OCC: Something was lead lined down here, right? What was it?

Ah, that coffin was lead lined. Let's take another look at it. If the lead is in the form of panels or sheets perhaps we can form a makeshift envelope for the gem.Of course, the lead may not block the gems aura but its worth a try. Ruthgar will start to make his way back to where they found the coffin.

OCC: Thanks RedWarrior.

Ruthgar is going to inspect the lead lined coffin to see if there is a way to remove the lead in a sheet or the like.

you could bust up the stone around it

Ruthgar will break up the stone as fast as he can.

you get the stone broken leaving only a thin lead box

Ruthgar:

Mooney, Phil, can you move the gem into the lead box? Let's see if it is able to absorb the aura.

Phil will try to embed the gem inside the compressed lead box.

Dies the lead box appear to block the gems effects?

Saxony

"If the lead is malleable, perhaps one if us with some smithy skills could beat a sheet to wrap around it. Otherwise introduce a bit of 'social distancing', abd let one if us ineffective by the aura carry it away?"

The warrior offers a suggestion and will take a share of lugging one end of a coffin box if need be.

We use the box to attempt to "scoop" the gem out of the air, assuming it's still floating.

it wasn't floating, it was sitting on a pedestal

Once Allan checks for traps, Phil will attempt to grab the gem and toss it in the lead box.

Oh, I missed that... for some reason I decided it was floating.
