Hex (who already stated he would cast his continual light spell back upon the charm that attaches to his staff) will leave his pack with Raffi.

He will leave his wand as well, but hand it to the wizard-priest and instruct him how to work it and what it does, just in case they are attacked whilst the underwater team are busy.

He will then, only when all the others are ready, cast alter self and transform himself into a nixie, and dive into the pool, holding his continual light staff to illuminate the water.

Boff strips off all of his gear, and leaves almost everything on the shore aside from the figurine to breathe underwater he keeps his two daggers on him & his continual light lantern. He keeps on one of his pairs of boots leaving the other in his backpack shore side so he has a pair of dry ones to change into afterwards, he takes off his cloak but leaves on the leather coat and pants. Once that is all managed he will go into the water with Qleceec.

Siouxsie

Otter will be fine as she can grasp things a little more with them being quite dexterous creatures.

The dive
Early on Godsday, 18th day of Planting, 597
13th day since leaving Loftwick

Qleceec (AC 1, HP 51/63) (Water Breathing 9 hours)
Hex (AC 0, HP 21/27, Armor 2/8) (Staff with Continual Light Coin) (Alter Self - Nixie in Plate Mail - Round 1)
Siouxsie (AC 2, HP 45/48) - Otter
Boff (AC 5, HP 50/61) (Continual Light Lantern)

Androgost (AC -6, HP 42/65, Armor 15/26) (Glowing Sword)
Nah Olos (AC 4, HP 42/53)
Garrant (AC 3, HP 50/50, Armor 2/8)
Frannie (AC 4, HP 19/26)
Raffi (AC -1, HP 20/21, Armor 8/8)

Hex and Boff produce continual light items and take them with them into the pond. Siouxsie transforms into an Otter (healing 4 points of damage) and Hex casts Alter Self and transforms into a Nixie in Plate Mail carrying a glowing staff. With all the light brought into the pond, the group quickly finds a mostly square hole at the bottom of the pond that is 5 feet to a side. The group is forced to head down the tunnel (or straw) in a single file manner with only the otter able to change locations in the group. Qleceec leads the way with Hex trying to light way

At the end of the first round the group has travelled to the straw and about 30 feet down the straw. The straw appears to be very new and the sides are a very soft stone. The straw extends for perhaps 40 more feet before opening up to larger space.

Androgost, Nah Olos, Garrant, Frannie and Raffi are all waiting at the waters edge with four different small piles of equipment that have been left behind by the four members in the water.

The fire-creature says to the group, "Would someone like to bet on what kind of horrors they find down there? I got a miscellaneous potion that says they will meet a hostile swimming creature that will try and eat them. Any takers!"

Raffi snorts at the flame coloured giant. Thats sweet of you to show concern. Not to worry though. Nothing bad will happen to them. It might nearly be terrible, but inexplicably everyone always survives, even in the most unlikely of events. It’s a gift you could say. Or a curse, depending on which side of the hedge you are standing on. :D

Hex will swim after the ranger, his light in front of him, watching the way ahead for signs of enemies as they pass.

Androgost thinks that's a bet not worth taking - of course they will encounter something deadly! Sword in hand, he keeps a close watch on the perimeter...

Boff continues following Qleceec using his lantern of continual light to hopefully light the way.

Nah Olos "Of course there's something hostile in there. There is everywhere down here. But, out of pure curiosity, what were you hoping to get from us that's worth this potion?"

Siouxsie

She shrugs. "Of course nasty critters dwell below and of course the big, bad fire jinn can't swim and is afraid of water." she says as she dives in. Swimming in the cool waters and ready to snap on any goldfish or crabs that lurk in the waters.

I guess she is more able to fit into tighter spaces and can wriggle ahead and she if she can spot the wanted gem.

Frannie (AC 4, HP 19/26)
Raffi (AC -1, HP 20/21, Armor 8/8)

Back up top, Androgost and Nah Olos scoff at the bet from the fire creature as being to obvious. The rest of the group waits for the divers return.

For the group in the water - In the clear depths of the water, the small group presses onward, as they descend through the narrow straw-like structure, plunging another 30 feet into the unknown depths below. Emerging into a vast chamber, they find themselves at the top of what seems to be a large roughly cylindrical space. Before them, at a distance of roughly 60 feet, looms a towering 12' figure, its form unmistakably that of a humanoid spider. Yet, rather than facing them, the creature's attention is fixed on something mysterious and luminescent, casting an eerie green glow that captivates its gaze. Silent and unmoving, the spider-like entity stands sentinel, its presence casting an ominous shadow over the chamber. Though the adventurers have entered through the roof with lights of there own, the creature remains utterly oblivious to their presence, as if ensnared by the allure of whatever lies before it.

Boff doesn't like this one bit but waits to see what Qleceec decides to do.

Qleceec

Qleceec will swim closer to the spider creature, approaching from the rear. Does it look alive or is it a statue?

Qleceec (AC 1, HP 51/63) (Water Breathing 9 hours)
Boff (AC 5, HP 50/61) (Continual Light Lantern)
Hex (AC 0, HP 21/27, Armor 2/8) (Staff with Continual Light Coin) (Alter Self - Nixie in Plate Mail - Round 3)
Siouxsie (AC 2, HP 45/48) - Otter

Androgost (AC -6, HP 42/65, Armor 15/26) (Glowing Sword)
Nah Olos (AC 4, HP 42/53)
Garrant (AC 3, HP 50/50, Armor 2/8)
Frannie (AC 4, HP 19/26)
Raffi (AC -1, HP 20/21, Armor 8/8)

The dry group spends few minutes in silence. Nah Olos thinks that he hears something (some movement) from the E-SE well beyond the light range. The fire-creature either does not hear it or at least does not react.

Hex and Siouxsie "elect" to stay by the entrance and not yet approach the creature. Qleceec and Boff swim towards the humanoid spider and realize that Qleceec's thought is right on and that it is a statue. The duo swims to within about 10' from the awful looking thing. From this angle you cannot see the front of the statue, but about 10' beyond the front of the status is a "window" in the otherwise stone water filled room. On the other side of the "glass" is the source of the green glow. It is clear the statue is facing the area with the green glow. While your vision is blocked from the statue, there are multiple dark-skinned humanoids on the other side of the glass. It is unclear if they have seen you or your light at this point.

Hex will swim forward half way to the statue, but keep his eye upon it. He will ready a spell in case things go south.

Raffi will follow the half-orc, some twenty feet behind him. He will keep his enchanted dagger out for light.

Boff stays back not really wanting to get any closer to the thing incase it isn't actually a statue.
