Hey Shroom, we are just outside Falko now, so it's unlikely that you'll get many more tests to use your trait on. ;)

Well I figured we might have another adventure phase this session. Is the whole session in town?

It is my understanding that the Session resets at the end of the town phase.

Oh, I missed that, I had thought it more closely mirrored camp phase, so with that in mind adding my trait wont really add a die but i could have added a persona

Falko:
A small lumber village near the Godsfall mountain range, along the Rheinmer river.

Remote Village
(Unaffiliated)
+ Tavern
+ Street
+ Stables
+ Flophouse
+ Home
+ Market

Laws:
Drunkenness is a crime. Punishable by public humiliation
Everyone level up! It happens when we enter town. :)
(Allric can now cast two spells per adventure phase)

Ludanto - do we know the Town Event?

We don't have any conditions, so that makes town easier. What do we want to get done, how to push beliefs?
- we need to visit the Herbalist and sell these mushrooms.
- we need to sell this ungainly window.
- what does Berry want to do with the big book of dwarven lore? Selling it? Use "Searching for Someone" to find someone who will put it to good and holy use?

- does anyone have contacts here?
- does Berry want to "search for someone" to find his thief enemy?

- What next?
Once per level, your mentor will inscribe into your spell book one spell that he knows. To do so, you must locate your mentor in the game and spend a week in town.
- Allric would appreciate making a trip to the Ashen Throne - he can learn a new spell from his mentor once per level. Unless there is a way to do that in Falko? Ludanto? What are the odds that Balcalath the Professor is currently in or near Falko?
- what beliefs drive us to somewhere next?
- do we want to hunt for leads? Any in particular?

- any thoughts on the foreigners in town or desire to jump on that plotline?

Rabon wants to:
1. Divvy up loot, meaning we figure out what anyone might want to keep. (Rabon would like to keep the hand axe, if possible.)
2. Sell the rest of the loot. (Anyone have need for a helmet?)
3. Reprovision the group with group funds: food, oil, torches. Anything else?
4. Decide where we are all staying. IC, Rabon wants to be rich and stay in a real bed, but I don't want to water resources when we could use better equipment.
5. Decide what else the group might need. Rabon is interested in buying new thieves tools and maybe talking to someone in town about improving his pack to carry 1-2 more slots, if possible.

I'm really looking forward to trying it a character at level 2! :D Can't wait to both up the laptop and check out level benefits.

I'm also excited about level 2, I get to use an actual circle prayer. While I'd live to flip that book, Berry would want to find a trusty religious person, or even a scholar, that can properly decipher the book and put it to good use. We can't forget to get provisions and such as well. I have 2D of gold from character creation to help with some expense. We do need to tread lightly and make sure we don't make this town hate us too much.

Edit: I would like Berry to keep the ring, it let's him have a connection to these dwarves that he is trying to relate to and if our dwarf does not return it gives him something to remember her by.

Running Total of Loot (who carries it):
- 10 mushrooms - eight worth 1D Thag
- embroidered pouch is full of sparkling gems - worth 3D Thag
- old book with scribbling about an evil dwarf god - worth 2D (maybe haggle for 3D?) Berry
- dwarf shield Berry
- dwarf crossbow (useless without quarrels) on floating disc
- dwarf axe named "Skyfall" Rabon
- weapon honing kit Thag (used)
- Small sack with copper coins Rabon
- an unusually large red gem, cut like a teardrop and bearing some sort of runic inscription (in pouch with coins) Rabon
- an intricately crafted silver hammer, bearing an engraved image on the head (7D) (pack1) on floating disc
- scroll of "Sanctuary of the Lord of Shields" (pack1)
on floating disc
- a brittle page, "Forgive me, dark father of the forge, my toils shall never be enough." (Negligible) on floating disc
- A large, gilded, gem-encrusted book (pack 2) on floating disc

Adding:
- an invigorating potion (Allric) (Cures Exhaustion)
- a calming potion (Berry) (Cures Anger)
- stained-glass detail (Hands 2 or Pack 4)

More adding:
- a second invigorating potion (Allric) (Cures Exhaustion)
- Scroll of Wisdom of the Sages
Selling Salvage or Kit, p. 90
The market is also the place to sell any salvage hauled out of
the ruins: If the object is worth Ob 3 Resources test or less,
it has no sale value. No one wants your stinky, rusty junk. If
the object is worth an Ob 4 Resources test, it’s worth 1D of
cash. If the object you’re trying to pawn off is worth an Ob
8 Resources test, it’s worth 2D of cash. Hey, I have to make
a living too!

So, we have:
- A sack of copper coins (Carry 2, 1D Cash)
- Embroidered pouch is full of sparkling gems (Carry 1, 3D Cash)
- an intricately crafted silver hammer, bearing an engraved image on the head (Carry 1, 7D Cash)

Sell to Herbalist:
- Eight mushrooms (to Laurel) for 1 bag silver (carry 1, 1D Cash)

Sell to Market:
- Dwarven Crossbow can be sold in the Market (Carry 2, 1D Cash) [Ob 4 resource test sells as 1D cash. Does dwarf-make matter?]
- A large, gilded, gem-encrusted book (pack 2) [Value unknown]
- stained-glass detail (Hands 2 or Pack 4) [Value unknown]
- Dwarven Helm (Carry 1, no cash value) [Ob 2 resource test, can't sell it, does dwarf-make matter?]

Keep:
- an unusually large red gem, cut like a teardrop and bearing some sort of runic inscription [Plot item]
- Ring of Tarog: A large ring with a round red stone (Wear 1) [Value unknown]
- old book with scribbling about an evil dwarf god (Carry 1, 2D Cash)
- Dwarven Shield (Carry 1, no cash value) [Ob 1 resource test, can't sell it, does dwarf-make matter?]
- Dwarven Handaxe named "Skyfall" (Carry 1) [No intrinsic value: Value as magic item unknown]
- scroll of "Sanctuary of the Lord of Shields" (pack 1)
- an invigorating potion (cures Exhaustion) (pack 1) [Value unknown]
- an invigorating potion (cures Exhaustion) (pack 1) [Value unknown]
- a calming potion (cures Anger) (pack 1) [Value unknown]
- scroll of Wisdom of the Sages (pack 1) [Value unknown]

...haggling may come into play for the unpriced items, but generally Rabon will get one test (at +1 lifestyle) and roll on the table on page 87.

There's no pricing on the potions or scrolls, but they are better quality than those in the book (an invigorating draught is temporary, my potions are permanent and had a higher Ob). I'd say they should be worth at least 1D Cash if sold.

Accommodations: Falko doesn't have an Inn. No feather beds for us. (OOC, it would be a waste as we don't have any conditions.) We can stay at the Flophouse or Stables for +1 Lifestyle or in the streets (with a badness roll) for free. If anyone has friend, mentor, or parents in Falko, you can stay with them for free. So, we all need at least 1D cash to attempt a Resources roll of at least Ob 1 based on lodging alone.

Buying things: Each thing we want to buy requires spending cash/resources and a roll.
- Flasks of oil (2); Ob 2
- Rations, Fresh (2); Ob 1
- Rations, Preserved (3); Ob 2
- Rabon: Thieves Tools: Ob 4
- Allric: Replentish brimstone (spell component in his hollow ring); Ob 1

If there are no objections, I'd like to keep the crossbow, and just use some of the funds to buy bolts for it. And then use some funds to buy a second hand weapon.

No objection from me. And would you look at that! Rabon is from Falko! His friend, the Maid, Mer Rhion, lives here! He'll have a nice bed to stay in, though he might not get much rest, as it were. Nudge, nudge. Wink, wink.

Thief, Level 2 Benefit:
Improvisational
A bit of wire, a sliver of metal, a shard of bone—a thief always has tools available for Criminal or Dungeoneer tests regarding traps, escaping, locks and similar.
I'll take that t seems I no longer have a need to get those thieves tools, after all. :) (Seems more beneficial than taking Surprise Attack, considering he tries to stay out of fights. And it saves a pack-slot!)

Ludanto: Would Rabon's Appraisal-Wise give us insight to the increased worth (or not) of dwarf-made goods? (Shield, helmet, etc.)

Slightly different interpretation there...

* If you have your pack, you always have tools for your skills. (Not having your pack is +1Ob (p. 34).
* Your Thieves Tools are good tools and give +1D.
* The Improvisational advantage eliminates the "no tools" penalty, it doesn't replace the benefit of having good tools. (So, if you are captured, stripped, etc., you still can pick locks without the +1 OB.)

That said, it is still the more Rabon choice. :)

Oh. Thanks. He'll be wanting those tools after all.
It does make me rethink the benefit, too.

The Dwarven items, while originally well-crafted, are still very old and worn and would be unlikely to attract a buyer.

I hadn't identified where my contacts were. My mentor will be a professor at the Ashen Throne.

Falco has an Herbalist, so, I will have my Friend be in Kelsgard.

Ludanto, do you want to have my mentor travel so we can find him at your discretion, or do you want me to push us back to the Ashen Throne each level?
Allric's inquiry needs a Circles test, Ob5.
To find wizards in general, understood.

Relationships do not require a circles test (hence the question above). If my mentor is here, you just say so.

Relationships are expected to reside in your home town. As such, barring some special circumstance, your Mentor will be found in your home town.

I'm choosing this as my level benefit. Now I need to acquire an off-hand weapon.

Sword Proficiency: When armed with a sword and any off-hand weapon, gain +1D to two action types (Attack, Defend, Feint or Maneuver) when acting with the sword. The bonuses stick to those action types for the remainder of the conflict.

Loot, then...

Thag:
Already has a sword on belt and quiver on shoulder. He takes Rabon's dagger and puts it in his other belt slot. He keeps the crossbow (2 hands) and buys quarrels to fill the quiver.

Loot:
- Dwarven Crossbow can be sold in the Market (Carry 2, 1D Cash) [Ob 4 resource test sells as 1D cash.]

Rabon:
- Dwarven Handaxe named "Skyfall" (Carry 1) [No intrinsic value: Value as magic item unknown]

Berry:
- an unusually large red gem, cut like a teardrop and bearing some sort of runic inscription [Plot item]
- Ring of Tarog: A large ring with a round red stone (Wear 1) [Value unknown]
- old book with scribbling about an evil dwarf god (Carry 1, 2D Cash)
- Dwarven Shield (Carry 1, no cash value) [Ob 1 resource test, can't sell it]
- scroll of "Sanctuary of the Lord of Shields" (pack 1)

Allric
- scroll of Wisdom of the Sages (pack 1) [Value unknown]

Cash...
Everyone needs at least 1D cash to make the test leaving town. Anyone who succeeds at a Resources test gets upgraded to 1D Resources (and can help others, thank goodness). We are kind of stuck in that several large value treasures must be spent in one shot.

Goes to those with least work to do in town.
1D sack of copper
1D sack of silver (from mushrooms)

3D sack of gems is best to save, or give to someone who will have at least a +1 to lifestyle for an activity.

7D hammer needs to be spent on a high-cost item acquisition (perhaps thieves tools Ob 4), or restocking all food/oil in bulk...

The book and the stained glass are not yet appraised.

- A large, gilded, gem-encrusted book (pack 2) [Value unknown]
- stained-glass detail (Hands 2 or Pack 4) [Value unknown]
- Dwarven Helm (Carry 1, no cash value) [Ob 2 resource test, can't sell it unless there is a 12 on a haggle table check. Nobody in the party can use it.]

Keep or sell:
- an invigorating potion (cures Exhaustion) (pack 1) [Value unknown]
- an invigorating potion (cures Exhaustion) (pack 1) [Value unknown]
- a calming potion (cures Anger) (pack 1) [Value unknown]
