Caiden Cross – Human (HP: 10/10) (AC: 13)
Action: A Nap To Not Get Involved
Caiden sees the group leaving one after the other but he stays. He didn't want to intrude on the knight's business who seemed to be in no mood for questions about what's wrong. After pulling his hood over his head to take a nap he reassess his decision and wonders if the chef isn't gonna cook the knight or something, that thought brings a faint laugh as he follows the group but says nothing.

Rakjak
Rakjak gives Lyeara a laugh and a nod of his head, "Nose good for sniffing, we go now." He spies Caiden leaving the room, waiting for a brief moment for the young human to catch up before leading the way outside into the city to see what mischief the group can get into.

Re: In Gods We Trust
Summary: Investigatory Exploration
Calendar: 10:05 pm - July 9th, 9001
Location: 1st Floor/Tower Entrance/Breezeway
Rakjak, Kel, Lyaera, and Caiden converse momentarily in the 1st floor breezeway before deciding that Rakjak should let his nose lead the party. Rakjak, easygoing, and always ready to discover new and exciting ingredients says, "Nose good for sniffing, we go now," and heads toward the waiting stony gargoyle in the shadows of the double doors.
As Rakjak approaches the Gargoyle simply ogles him from the shadows, entirely blocking the doorway, not moving or blinking. It remains squatted, unmoving, stone still.
Location: 2nd Floor Landing
Zirus ascends the stairs behind Babak, ignoring the rest of the party. Upon reaching the landing he finds Esilia, Tafari, and Babak conversing in somewhat relaxed tones. The muted voices of Gavin and Gunther can be heard coming from the far side of a nearby closed wooden door.

Re: In Gods We Trust
Caiden sighs since he is not inclined to sniff out in people's business when not asked to, "You can't get in without on of these", he takes the medallion out from under his cloak, "You are only granted passage if you possess this thing and it's not interchangeable, it's tied to one's soul or something similar.....at least I think this is why we can't pass", he takes the medallion out and sees if they permit him to pass., even if he is granted permission he won't go.
"Now, Zirus went ahead of us, he can handle whatever situation that may arise, and Tefari is there....somehow....", he wonders how he got in, "Anyway, bothering them too much is just unnecessary, if it would make you feel better I can go in and inspect things out but!", he turns to Rakjak grinning, "how about we go to this inn where they serve FOOD! you can try the local cuisine and give them pointers, huh?? Sounds like fun?? Maybe you can even cook to show them what a real chef can do!", he tries his best to seem as energetic as possible to try and persuade the full of energy chef.
He then looks to Lyaera and speaks in a soft voice, "You seem a bit tired, with the adventures ahead of us I bet you need a good night sleep, comfy pillows, soft sheets and sheep jumping over fences"
He looks up to Kel, "And you! How about we go for a round of drinks!! Huh? I wanna hear all sorts of stories about the, I am sure, bloody battles you fought with all sorts of monsters, oh if only your axe can speak!", Caiden can hold his liquor, so he can go a few more rounds without it fazing him.

Rakjak
Rakjak looks to the stone gargoyle blocking their path outside, he thinks for a moment while listening to the others. When Caiden talks about the medallion Rakjak nods his head in understanding, "Is good, I try somtin." He gives the group a wicked grin before turning back to the Gargoyle, walking closer to it and then taking a deep breath, and then yelling at the stone construct, "Open now! Big ugly no eats ting! Yous taste like gravel in shit!!" He descends into his own barking gnoll language as he continues to berate the gargoyle for blocking their path for several more moments.
Afterwards he waits for a reaction from it, if none is given then he will look back towards the group and shrug his shoulders, "No let us pass, maybe deaf? Rocks not hear good."
From what I can gather of our situation, we attempted to leave the tower and there is a giant gargoyle obstructing our path, correct? Want to make sure that's what is happening. Sniper's post has me wondering where in the tower we actually are in relation to our current goals

OOC:
That is correct MW. Zirus, Tafari, and Babak went up to the 2nd floor landing, while the rest of the party is standing in the 1st floor breezeway at the tower entrance double-doors (the only exit of the circular tower on the 1st floor). The stone gargoyle is, in fact, blocking your exit. And yes Caiden's statement is correct:
Only Gunther or Babak can grant a non-toting medallion humanoid access into or out of the tower and Dragons Belch's main gate (after sunset and before sunrise).
Netheril's Tower
Netheril's tower is constructed of heavy grey stone blocks, 9' thick, with one or more large rooms to each floor. Many of the rooms contain tables covered in scrolls, books, bubbling beakers, and strange, stuffed creatures. The base footprint is roughly 90' in diameter. The main entrance consists of two 12" thick by 7' wide by 12' high doors, laminated with alternating grain layers of hard 4" thick timbers and steel bands. A spiral staircase winds its way up on the inside of the building just inside the outer wall with a small landing on each floor.
1st Floor: Guest quarters and Dining area.

5th Floor: Gunther's Floor

Ēventus Interruptiō!: Grey Mountain Kobolds Bearing News & Body!
Location: 1st Floor Landing/Breezeway/Front Door
Calendar: 10:09 pm - July 9th, 9001
As Lyaera and Rakjak disappear up the winding staircase past Caiden sitting down for a spell, and Kel disappears into the Guest room in search of a bed, the Gargoyle comes to life from within the shadows. Its eyes glow a radiant blue, lighting the entire 1st floor breezeway. It stands, turns, and opens the massive outer double entry doors.
Four, large Kobolds, their skin a dark grey (like ash), burst through the opening carrying a litter with a strange looking Elf. They stop in the breezeway as the Gargoyle shuts the outer doors. One of the kobolds in the front begins barking something in a strange sounding Draconic but moves no further in.
“yoweth levethix netheril di wer quellar di darastrixi. si, thorgruk gribtuk, di wer kifel verthichai, guyya lexri vur regipre!”
After barking his words the Kobold waits patiently while the strange Elf, lying unconscious on the litter with several large wounds, oozes a viscous green fluid all over the stone floor. The four Kobolds stand firm, holding the litter with ease, their arms bulging with muscle (a strange sight), all wearing dark brownish-grey metallic armor, strange curved swords, and several short spears strapped to their backs. Their helmets, made of the same metal as their armor, leave very little flesh exposed, showing only their glowing, deep red eyes within, and looking for all the world like Wyvern heads, complete with resplendent horns, spurs, and teeth. The helmets appear to have been intricately crafted by deftly skilled hands, with many individual parts riveted and fixed together.
Sample Wyvern Head (the helmets are fashioned after)
A close inspection of the Elf reveals it to be similar to a Gruagach or Wild Elf, but it's skin is translucent in places, bark-like in others, and has sharp red thorns protruding through its skin everywhere.

Re: In Gods We Trust
Summary: Gunther Appears
Calendar: 10:10 pm - July 9th, 9001
Location: 1st Floor Landing/Breezeway/Tower Entrance
As the party gets antsy for action, they slowly emerge from the 1st floor Guest Room and mill about the 1st floor Landing/Breezeway/Tower Entrance.
Rakjak, inspired by Caiden’s talk of medallions, approaches the Gargoyle demanding he and his friends be granted egress from the tower. As Caiden indicated, the Gargoyle simply ignores rakjak, remaining stone sill, unmoving, unflintching.
Clearly irritated by this turn of events Kel returns to the Guest Room to find a bed—“Bah whatever I'll go find somewhere to sleep."—while Caiden takes a seat on the nearby steps to contemplate his next course of action. Lyaera and Rakjak decide the matter should be taken up with their “jailors” and ascend the stairs toward the 2nd floor.
Shortly after they depart the Gargoyle comes to life with brilliant glowing blue eyes. It opens the heavy outer doors and in rushes a very strange group of rather dark, grim, serious looking Kobolds in battle dress carrying an even stranger looking Elf. One of the front kobolds barks words in some foreign language and then simply stands at attention holding the litter they all carry while the Elf bleeds a green viscous fluid all over the stone floor.
The Kobolds words echo cleanly up the spiraling stairwell for all to be heard.

NPC Post: Esilia Willow – Pixie
Esilia zips out of the stairwell, buzzes across the Breezeway, and flies right up the shoulder of the Gargoyle. "Be a dear, brave sir, and open the portal so that i may retrieve my armor." She runs a soft hand across the Gargoyle's brows and head, caressing it gently, waiting for it to undertake her request. While she waits she eyes the Kobolds fair with concerned eyes, unconcerned with the Kobolds themselves. "I wonder who that is?" she says out loud. "Such a strange looking Elf. I have never seen one before."

NPC Post: Tobias – Grimalkin
Tobias wakes with a start when the Kobold barks his words. "What is this? Something new to entertain my keen senses perhaps." Tobias snips the air, arches his back, yawns with gaping, sharp teeth, and strolls past Kel to see what all the ruckus is about. “Kel, you giant of a man, what is the disturbance without yon door there? Have you discovered a new species? Are we under attack by some prince from far off lands?” Tobias stops mid-room to watch the giant Kel, enamored by his sharp words and whit, despite his massive gait and posture.

Re: In Gods We Trust
NPC Post: Gavin Moorehouse – Human
Gavin breaks through the Infirmary’s door, leaving his helmet, armor, and sword behind, ignores Lyaera and Babak conversing on the 2nd floor Landing, and charges down the stairs.
Gavin (without his armor)
Upon reaching the 1st floor Breezeway he stops mid-stride. “The need must be dire for you to journey from your warren. Has the Mother sent you?” Gavin then notices the litter with the strange looking Elf. “Quick, Thorgruk, take this Elf to the Infirmary on the 2nd floor.”
Gavin turns to any adventurers still milling about the 1st floor Breezeway, “Please wait in the Guest Room. Gunther will be in shortly with your weekly stipend and give you your marching orders. I can tell you we will be leaving at first light. Fill your stomachs, steel your minds, and prepare for battle. We shall descend into the bowels of Dragons Belch. The journey shall not be a pleasant one. Peasant’s lives are at stake, so we must proceed.”
Gavin then bows, says, “Est Sularas oth Mithas” and swiftly ascends the stairs behind the Kobolds.
