"Ýmirs eistna, I'd like some time alone with whoever put in this wiring!" It seems like the perfectly serviceable (actually entirely well toned) bottom half of a crew member has been abandoned in the companionway adjacent to a service hatch. "Streð mik! Why use all this stupid sticky tape instead of proper ties?" Meanwhile the sub deck crawlspace now echoes with the disembodied voice of an irritable Sword Worlder "Við hamri Þórs I wouldn't do "half a job" on the latur skíthæll that left this mess!"terrymixon wrote: ↑Mon Jan 27, 2025 3:15 am"Sounds like a plan, but I'm working with our engineer, so he'll tell me if I get time off for good behavior."

Doctor Brock agrees and arrives with two empty low berths which replace the two with the patients. He takes the patients and departs. You notice that the 5000cr move from Zaki's account into his account. You also note that the report he has made doesn't include any mention of the two patients. There are no official records that they were ever aboard The Lucky Chance at all.joertexas wrote: ↑Mon Jan 27, 2025 2:38 amZaki hugs him briefly. "Thank you, I will do that."
Zaki contacts Doctor Brock and arranges for the transfer and payment. She asks about swapping low berths for empty ones, and about setting up the accounts for the patients. If one doesn't make it, then the entire amount would go to the surviving patient.

With Flighty's approval, Donovan contacts the Plith of Extolay and after a bit of haggling arranges for rooms on the 18th floor of the 20 floor hotel. The top two floors are occupied by the Yacht Race participants, but there is a block of rooms available on the 18th.terrymixon wrote: ↑Mon Jan 27, 2025 3:15 am"Sounds like a plan, but I'm working with our engineer, so he'll tell me if I get time off for good behavior."
The block of rooms consist of bedrooms and a two room suite that consists of a bedroom and sitting room. The block can be configured to give 4 to 6 individual bedroom/ensuites with a common sitting room/mini kitchen. The fewer the bedrooms, the larger the common area will be, but all together you are renting 1200 square feet of space. The block can be configured to have a single shared and lockable point of entry and individual biometric locks for each bedroom.
The price is 2000 cr per night total for the suite of rooms and access to the hotel's private lounge and all amenities. Breakfast in the hotel's dining room is provided, but lunch and dinner are extra, though at a discount. Service to the rooms is available, but extra. Amenities include the dining room/restaurant, two bars (one open and one private), several private meeting rooms, a spa, gym, pool and multiple grav ball courts (think handball in zero g). A casino connects directly to the Plith on one side and to a small arena on the other.

After a busy afternoon of unloading Freight and getting paid for it, working on systems, and disposing two unwanted patients, the crew is ready to button down the ship and head over to the Plith of Extolay for some R&R.
OOC: Your current Cargo Manifest and Finances are up to date, so take a look. As a summary, you have a little over 300,000 cr in your account, 13 tons of spec cargo you can sell, 1 ton of freight bound for Jenghe (so 14 of 82 tons of cargo space currently occupied),and 3 of 10 low berths occupied all the way through to Regina.
I'm not closely tracking your individual cash, but I'm guessing you don't have much. You might what to consider spreading out some "walking around" money to each of the crew for their stay at the Plith.
Donovan mentioned hiring a Broker, I asked for the Broker level he's looking for 1, 2, or 3...it's an Easy Roll (6+) to find one you're looking for at the level you are looking. Do you want me to roll for it, or do you want to roll?
Business Timeline
Doug says as the crew walks together in the direction of the Terminal Building, "We'll need to spend a few hours each day working on the ship, but if we all pitch in, that can be only two or three with the rest free for some R&R. Thing is, though, I'm gonna need some brass in pocket if I'm going to do anything but lounge around the rooms we rented. What about it Flighty?"

Business Timeline
- Day 1: Land and go through Port Procedures, pay fees, arrange for stay in Port. Deliver Freight and get paid. Disembark passengers. Hire a Broker.
- Day 2: Sell any spec cargos you want to sell here (can use Broker here).
- Day 2: Solicit Freight and Passengers for your next Destination with a notice to the Comm System/Newspaper/Job Board depending upon Tech Level.
- Day 2, 3, 4: Cargo Master (Donovan), and up to two "assistants", look for cargo to buy here. One roll for the Master and one roll for any assistant if you spend most of your time looking for Cargo. One roll, only, if you "have an adventure" that takes up days of time here in this system.
- Day 5: Buy any cargos you find and decide to buy (can use Broker here). Accept Freight and Passenger bookings.
- Day 6: Take on Freight and Passengers to be delivered to future destinations.
- Day 7: Load Freight and Passengers, refuel, and depart.

Donovan will seek out an experienced broker (level 3 if possible). He will make it clear that they are not selling any speculative cargo at this stop but need help with buying.Eris wrote: ↑Tue Jan 28, 2025 7:58 pm After a busy afternoon of unloading Freight and getting paid for it, working on systems, and disposing two unwanted patients, the crew is ready to button down the ship and head over to the Plith of Extolay for some R&R.

He will advertise for low passage and freight/mail to Regina or Jenghe.
"Anyone interested in helping me look for cargo to pick up? We have most of the cargo hold empty. I would like to turn around as quickly as possible."
