0007 Phlume 0611 (C887624-8)
Re: 0007 Phlume 0611 (C887624-8)
When Hank came over to look at cargo and make suggestions about what might be available he mentioned a local bar called The Seahorse in an underwater Arcology a short water taxi ride away. If any of you drop by he'll buy you a couple of rounds and treat you to a "fine meal of local seafood."

Donovan is up for some of the local seafood as well.
He will tell the group privately; "I would really like to continue on to Regina. We can trade well, lose ourselves in the traffic and then break contact by going Trailing with a deep space jump to Yori. Also Regina probably has Aslan and Vargr to whom we can sell the dust spice. The low passengers want to go to Jenghe and will pay a premium for quick delivery."

Donovan will sell everything that he can (and suggest that they get town before anyone changes their minds!) He will buy the crystals and all of the iridium. He needs to talk to Flighty about how much cargo space to keep clear.Eris wrote: ↑Wed Oct 30, 2024 7:25 pm After Donovan does some negotiation this is what he gets as offers on the cargo you have aboard:
6,000 -- Body Armor 6,000 per ton for 1 ton
120,000 -- Fast Drug 120,000 per ton for 2 tons, but can't sell more here
4,000 -- Antique Firearms 4,000 per ton for 1 ton
145,200 -- Textiles 4,400 per ton for 33 tons (something of a surprise)
116,100 -- Aluminum 2,700 per ton for 43 tons (a big surprise!)
0 --Dustspice, no one on Phlume will touch the Dustspice as it is illegal here.
What are you selling here?
-------
What you can pick up here to delivery elsewhere:
Freight lots available for delivery to Extolay @ 1000 per ton: 40, 60, 30, 60, 25, 20, 15, 3
Freight lots available for delivery to Jenghe @ 2000 per ton: 10, 20, 40, 10, 15, 25, 30, 20, 10, 1
Best Speculative Cargos you find:
Hank finds 1 ton of Crystals (Cr20,000; Buy: NA-3, I+4; Sell: NA-3, I+3, R+3) you can buy for Cr25,200 (with his fee).
Donovan finds 7 tons Iridium (Cr30,000; Buy: I-3, NI+5, R-2; Sell: I-3, NI+3, R-1) for sale at Cr15,000 per ton.
What Spec Cargo do you buy and what Freight Lots do you pick up for delivery?
Re: 0007 Phlume 0611 (C887624-8)
Sigrún nods and replies with unusual dispassion states "I am content to travel to Regina. It is the subsector capital".helvorn wrote: ↑Mon Nov 04, 2024 2:03 am Donovan is up for some of the local seafood as well.

On the Way to the Restaurant
OOC: In the restaurant is a different set of posts...
The group takes the local equivalent of a grav taxi from their ship out of the Port and across to the Underwater Acropolis. This is a self driving craft so all you need to do is put in the destination and sit back. The taxi takes them up over the small port city and as they turn east they look down and see several huge underwater structures each with a central flat topped pyramid emerging from the water like huge triangular lily pads.
A multitude of craft a can be seen plying the waters, from above (as they are) in grav craft ranging from 2 to 4 passenger size up to 30 or 40 passenger craft, to the surface in boats of all sizes, and below the surface in submersibles.
You can see huge seagoing vessels docked along both fixed docks at the port and at floating docks out in the lagoon. A constant stream of vehicles move like ants loading and unloading their cargos. In the distance you see an airship cruising slowly toward the lagoon, it must be 40,000 ton if it's one! Behind it a starship is coming down toward the Port that is dwarfed in comparison, and you recognize it as a big transport the main lines run, a 10kton ship.
The taxi drops down toward one of the "lily pads" and you lose sight of the ships above. The landing area is much larger than you imagined from the air. It must be 500 meters across and grav craft are hovering, landing, and taking off from it like bees. The passengers exit the craft and stream toward one of three shafts while passengers stream from a similar three shafts toward waiting grav craft.
With a slight bump your taxi lands and a computer voice advises you to "Watch your step upon exit." It repeats this over and over until you are all on the landing pad and out of the taxi and goes still awaiting it's next passengers.
Where is landed puts you near one of the three streams leading to the shafts. Do you join this stream?

OOC: After you get to the restaurant...oh, and I thought if you're going to be talking about destinations and such you will want some privacy not with Hank hanging around your table.
The Seahorse Restaurant
Your group is seated at a large round table near a plexglass window. You can look out at the underwater scene where schools of fish flit about among larger things...both living and man-made. Lights form beams penetrating the water forming what are clearly lanes of vehicle traffic, boxes really, most vehicles stay in their lanes, but the fish or all sizes flit all over the place going into like and then into shadow, folding in on themselves. Schooling, yes, but some of this looks a lot like mumerations!
Looking around the dining hall you see your group is actually fairly well dressed in your official ship uniforms. Most tables are occupied by well dressed couples and small groups and you note a couple of other ship crews by their uniforms among the patrons. It doesn't seem this restaurant has an official dress code, but everyone seems to be sticking to an unofficial code of best clothes forward. You don't see Hank anywhere around, maybe he'll show up later, or maybe he's already in the attached bar not the restaurant itself.
The Wait Staff are dressed in dark grey uniforms and move quickly and quietly about the room filling orders. Your Waitress approaches and says, "My name is Margaret and I'll be your server this evening."
She places a small plaque she has been wearing on her left breast in the middle of your table. The table's surface lights up slightly and lines extend out from the plaque toward each of you opening into displays of menus in front of you. This is completely new to Karcsi and Sigrun. Donovan and Flighty have seen systems like this before but never used one. Zaki has seen and used systems like this, but in a casino where gambling was involved, so she thinks she understands what to do, probably.
Doug rubs his chin and speaks up, "Margaret, we select what we want, swipe up the line, and it stores our selections in the plaque and that's how payment is handled too, right?"
"Not payment, only the order and charge is recorded." says Margaret, "When you are ready to check out you may tap the plaque in its center and the amounts each of you own are shown to you. If you each pay separately all you need to do is then place your card on the table in the appropriate box. If you wish to aggregate your bills in some way just move items from one box to another before you make payment."
"I would like to point out that our Chief Leon recommends the Plesie morhua in butter sauce with pommes de terre au fromage and spring salad on the side as especially good tonight. Plesie morhua is a very good local whitefish." Margaret tells you then smiles and adds, "And because nearly everyone always asks what I recommend, I'm a surf and turf girl and really enjoy our surf and turf with pomme frites and salade de chou...which is fried fish, a steak, with fries and a very good cabbage coleslaw."

OOC: If Karcsi agrees, she does and the sample is a fine german style dark beer. One of the best Karcsi can remember having, in fact....of course remembering after having does tend to be a problem for Karcsi.

Once everyone is served and has taken a bit to enjoy their meal Donovan brings up...
"I might be the only one, but I want the option to drop out, take whatever money you can give me as a fair buy out and use it to low berth myself far from anything to do with any of this. If you're heading to Regina, that's fine, but I'd rather part company with you, no offense, here as we're right on the Spinward Main and disappear in a different direction."
Doug looks around the table, "I move we let the kid leave. He's bitched at me almost non-stop back in Engineering, he ain't happy here and that's making me unhappy and that'll make the ship's engines and power plant unhappy, and none of us want that! So pay him off and send him on this way."

Bob clears his throat, "Excuse me, but I need to speak up about things, about everything. I didn't, none of us really, signed up for a long term commitment. I thought this was meant to be a pick up and delivery job, earn a paycheck and then check out. Instead we're in a legally ambiguous position with regard to owning the ship seeing as we reneged on the contract we signed, we're using doctored documents and ship codes and have, at least, one and probably multiple organizations that would love to get their hands on us. Probably, make us end up disappearing...permanently. I didn't sign up for this!""The low passengers want to go to Jenghe. If we go there we might as well go on to Regina. They should be able to take our patient plus we can get advanced training materials there. We have to go through a couple of yellow zones if we go via Dinom. I can make either route work."

Earlier in the day Donovan will ask. "Flighty how much cargo space if any do you want to keep free? I have regular consignment cargo I use to fill in the odd corners."
Down below in the restaurant Donovan will order the surf and turf along with the delicious beer. "If you need to go Bob then now is a good time. There are a couple of good travel agencies that I have dealt with already that can set you up. I can help negotiate as well if you like."
