Luther holds his place, his eyes flicking over the jungle canopy. Are there any mountain tops or landmarks? He'll try to deduce the plateau's location from any of these he can see.

Theo hears Daisy, who appears to be a cleric's suggestion about the fighters forming a perimeter. Not ever really knowing what to say in groups anyway, he moves to his accustomed scout/guard position. This time, to 20 yards to the southwest of the group. He readies his longbow. Anything coming across this flat, featureless terrain would come at range. Unless it also teleported in.

The dwarf grunts at Andron's musings: "In the distant pass? What are you talking about? We're in... Now... Aren't we?"

Elnaerel looks at Daisy. "I think you're right. And those of us who have ranged weapons should get them ready. Whatever comes to us, surely will come by air."

Yrias leaves aside his moody comments and decides to go to one of the edges of the plateau and look if the wall beneath them is climbable in any way.

He will go to the closest one, except if all of them are very far from the group. In which case he just remains where he is.

Wes slowly nods as Andron puts forward his idea. "That would explain the difference in the terrain. Do you think it's a temporary thing, to bring us back to a point where the Fun House was accessible?"

He looks at warriors taking up guard positions. Necessary of course, but surely a true hunter would have sprung the trap the moment they all arrived? On the other hand, perhaps it's more fun for the spider to watch the fly enter the parlor...

It's then that Wes notices that Torbath and his familiar seem to have found something. He closes his eyes and raises his face to the sky. "Obad Hai! Wherever we are, or whenever we are, this is your Domain! Though the path be strewn with traps, sometimes it is the only trail to the river. Watch over your servant as he follows your will". Wes makes a few simple gestures to cast Detect Snares and Pits then opens his eyes.

Taking his bearing from Comet's flight path, Wes slowly heads towards the anomaly, scanning the ground as he goes.

Wes is 6th level so the spell lasts 24 rounds. If the anomaly is much closer than that, he'll do a side to side sweep as he goes, so he's not just clearing a 10' path. If he makes it as far as the anomaly, he'll stay far enough away to scan it with the spell but not go closer for now.



The PHB details for quick reference.

Detect Snares & Pits (Divination)
Level: 1 Components: V, S, M Range: 0 Casting Time: 3 segments Duration: 4 rounds/level Saving Throw: None Area of Effect: 1" path, 4" long
Explanation/Description: Upon casting this spell, the druid is able to detect snares & pits along the 1" wide by 4" long area of effect path and thus avoid such deadfalls. Note that in the underground only simple pits, not all forms of traps, would be detected by means of this spell. Outdoors, the spell detects all forms of traps - deadfalls, missile trips, snares, etc. The spell lasts 4 melee rounds for each level of experience of the druid casting it, i.e. 4 rounds at the 1st level, 8 at the 2nd, 12 (1 turn plus 2 rounds) at the 3rd, etc

Chauncey listens to the time travel talk, finding it fascinating as a theory, yet is unwilling to accept it on mere conjecture. They didn't have any idea where they were. He'd wait until landmarks were identified and rough spatial coordinates determined before entertaining the idea of temporal travel.

Seeing Wesley zeroing in on the center of the platform with determination, the wizard will follow at a short distance to see what may be of interest there.

Theo provides ranger support and accompanies Wesley and Chauncey as move toward the center of the plateau. He looks back to the group to make sure they note the trio's actions.

Those of us who retrieved the smoke gem were most definitely, however briefly, in the far future when we first returned to the island. A similar effect may have brought us all here; in a time before the ashes."

Upon hearing the names of one of the Gods of her faith invoked Tlachtga moves towards Wes and takes a closer look, then introduces herself to Wes.

In Druidic for Wes,
"I am Tlachtga Macha, Initiate of the 2nd Circle of the Old Faith. I am of the Sheldomar Valley Circle. I heard you invoke Obad Hai."

Proud Strider rank ranger Theo looks back at the group-- and stops in his tracks. He put his hand to the sides of his mouth and calls out. Honored Wesley! Honored Chauncey! Please stop heading toward the anomaly in the exact center of this plateau, for now. Let's not split up. The ranger watches how the amazing dragonfly Comet still flies.

The Princess

Seeing as there's nothing else to do, she starts moving toward the center of the plateau, herding people along as she does. The Princess does try to spot the water from any direction, hoping to spot one of the islands or the grey pits to orient herself.

"So you say that when you entered the veil in the dark ether, and then returned, accelerated time had passed? And then this Eldar fixed it somehow? And how long after this 'fixing' did the flash occur?" She shakes her head to clear it. "This doesn't make any sense. The Master isn't here. Long gone. So what, or who caused the flash? Unless maybe there is a cyclical component. Like an hourglass. Someone said the island wasn't here at all months ago, right? Are we even sure we're still in the sea off Saltmarsh?"

Alordan wonders aloud, "What if when we find all the orbs we go back in time to when the Master is, in fact, alive. I'm not sure if he'll be happy to see us or not..."
