Hunting 'Spiderwoman'
Dougal is blessed by Raven, the mage casting a 'Spider Climb spell to equip the ranger to scale the tree and track the fleeing Drider spiderwoman.
Aided by knowledge gained from feasting upon the dead Drider's memories. Three scale the trees, Jorly & Cadeweed following behind Dougal. They are well able to scale the heights without much fear of falling.
Below the others move according to signals given. Moriartus, Raven, Hake, Two-Birds & Ash who leads the mule behind him. They walk slow, cautious to remain as hidden as possible (Mori & TB have their cloak advantages).
The action really is concentrated upon those above. The trio prove to be competent sneaks, accuracy in following the tiny imprints of pads upon the branch bark, leaves recently brushed aside and bent under a weight, slim threads of broken silk.
Dougal: tracking skill vs 75% [1d100]=4
Dougal has a keen eye and instinct for where the spiders may have scuttled to, where they may leap from branch to branch, where they climb vertical up a web or descend a tree trunk.
You halt, each of the trio shielding themselves behind a thick trunk, observing that the next tree. This one is distinct among the many pines and tall cedars, being very broad in the trunk circumference and growing without many wide spreading branches. Rather they reach up and tangle among themselves, providing a thick canopy of leaves. It looks almost 'mushroomed' shaped (based upon the Dragon's blood tree commin in the Yemeni desert).
Dangling from one branch is a cocooned sac, which you think contains the remains of the first Drider victim. Wind chimes set around the cocoon chime softly in the breeze, the hollow pipes resounding with a dirge of solemn notes. One branch of the tree you are in reaches across so that you could access into the others canopy.
Observing you see that the host tree must be hollow for though soft, flickering candlelights can be perceived inside the network of branches, some large spiders and a hybrid figure, scuttle to and from, accessing the trunk interior via giant knot holes.
Driders & Spiders vs 1-2 [1d6]=1Ranger surprised vs 16.66% [1d100]=76
The trio of observers are themselves observed. Two large spiders, each the size of a large dog with long legs that stretch to a man's height, lurking as predators or sentinels perhaps sense their presence. One scuttles forth to challenge the intruders while the second leaps to a higher branch and begins to scuttle towards the host tree.
Below, the ground force move slowly, halting as one of the trio wave a hand to point in a certain direction. You take cover, dousing lights, sticking to shadows. Conmhaol pounces on a scuttling spider, snatching it in his mouth and tearing limbs away. The beast hisses until a staff clubs it dead. The only one you note that might alert others to your presence.

Actions the scout trio Jorly, Cadeweed and Dougal need to silence the two sentinel spiders before they alert any Driders.
So I will take two rounds of attacks each please. Jorly & Cade can melee the one rushing them, freeing Dougal to try and shoot the other with arrows.
Once this is resolved, I will move to any attack plan.
Actions, rolls for those engaged with spider.
