Re: Chapter 4: Wizard's Basement
Weston waits until everyone is ready and then stands a little off to the left from in front the door and casts the knock spell.

Re: Chapter 4: Wizard's Basement
I am figuring Elanriel and Del can stay back and watch the prisoners since Del's player left, and Elanriel usually just watche's Del's back. If that sounds good enough let me know as Del also has 2 giant ferrets to help guard the prisoners.

/ooc - I'm going to make a second attempt at unlocking. Is the door or the chest unlocked? Point me in the right direction and I'll give it another shot.

Re: Chapter 4: Wizard's Basement
It's another door further back nearer to the beginning of the dungeon. I'll let both Egon and Xlore take one more attempt.

Xlore
The high elf rubs his slender hands together to warm up and cracks his knuckles before getting his lock picks and works on the door.
Hands don't fail me now! thought Xlore as he meticulously works on the locked door.

Re: Chapter 4: Wizard's Basement
Egon has the same luck again with the door lock. Xlore manages to unlock the door hearing the familiar click as the locking mechanism unlocks. After determining the door is not trapped the door is opened.
Many weapons line the room on shelves and in racks. In the center of the room is a statue of a horrid thing, a horned and fanged winged monster with raking talons.

"This doesn't look good", Egon carefully enters the room, expecting to be attacked by the statue thing.

Xlore
Sighing with relief, Xlore gave a slight chuckle of satisfaction while storing the lock picks away on himself. "Well now, I don't feel so useless after all!" called out the high elf.
Looking around the room in awe, Xlore carefully studied the statue trying to figure out what it represents.
/ooc - Are there any traps I can detect? Are there also any longswords, shortswords, and bows worth taking? I'm going to roll an Animal Lore check on the statue.

Re: Chapter 4: Wizard's Basement
The animal askill doesn't do you much good. Xlore determines the statue is not any animal of any kind he has ever seen or heard of. As best he can tell it is not an animal at all.

Urtesi
The elf, unused to long stays underground and exhausted from constant fighting, hasn't said much. "If there is anything of value here or beyond, I am sure this statue is another magical guardian," he says pessimistically.
Speaking of which... are there any swords here with a gem-set hilt and pommel?

"It would be logical that these are enchanted weapons on worth, and that is indeed some kind of guardian. As we believe we have what we were sent here for, we need to decide if we are of sufficient strength to attempt to defeat this creature."

Re: Chapter 4: Wizard's Basement
Xlore and Egon found no traps on the door hours back when they first came to this door. if you want to check the room for traps please roll a find/remove traps 1d100 roll Therick and others familiar with arcane arts see the statue and determine it looks a lot like a gargoyle a magical sort of creature. I can get a weapon list later, currently not as easily done. Please tell me how many of you are just looking into the room from the hall/doorway and whom is actually in the room.
