Chapter 4: Strange Pursuit
Re: Chapter 4: Strange Pursuit
We have Doos's and DT's actions for Turn 35, need Andreas's and William's when you're ready.

All PCs have posts for Turn 35 in their private threads.
Turn 36 (shootout turn)
NPCs [1d6]=6 tiebreaker[1d6]=4
PCs [1d6]=2 tiebreaker[1d6]=3
NPCs have initiative, PCs state actions. Reminder that in a shootout turn, initiative only determines which side has to state actions first. The order of shooting depends on the speed of the type of shot (hipshot, steady, careful, etc.)

Important: Because of the PCs' and NPCs' actions, revising Turn 38 from a shootout turn to a 6 seconds combat turn. Same initiative rolls as before.

Re: Chapter 4: Strange Pursuit
I gave up on the emails.
In this case I didn't get an in-game notification or an unread message magenta box. That's happened a few times. I manually check threads once in a while now.

Turn 40 - Combat Turn
NPCs [1d6]=4 tiebreaker[1d6]=3

With that result, we won't do another shooting turn. It will be just a regular IC posting round. GM post coming tomorrow.

You guys can go ahead and post your actions if you'd like.
Let's use the private threads again. PCs act before NPCs.

Done for DT
Re: Chapter 4: Strange Pursuit
GM posts for Turn 39 are up in the private threads. The PCs are coming to within sight of each other. So we can post in this thread now instead of in the private threads. Combat turns are done, no initiative rolls needed.

Re: Chapter 4: Strange Pursuit
Seeing Gidean run into the house through the North door and hearing things sounding under control by Doos’ calls, DT assumes we have control of the situation. He’ll walk a few feet to the corner of the house, reloading his pistol, and keeping one eye on his prisoner, waves William in to toward them.
Returning his attention to his bound prisoner: “You Louis Shepherd?” as DT reaches through the window to rifle through his pockets.[/dialog]

Re: Chapter 4: Strange Pursuit
Doos strips his prisoner of all effects and starts to tie him up with the curtains.
Loudly
"DT, when we are all on safe I will need you to check me out.
Pause
"I'm gutshot."

DT-
”Damn Doos. Is it bad?
What’s happening with Gidean and Phineas? What’s up with Andreas? Can he come to secure my prisoner? If so, send him to the Northwest room and take over for me. I’ll come to you as soon as he’s here. I think I have Luis Shepherd. If any of these bastards flinch even a muscle, kill ‘em.

Re: Chapter 4: Strange Pursuit
The man's wounded, swollen and discolored face is immobile at DT's question. But his eyes show he's startled. He looks at DT with puzzlement and says through barely moving swollen lips, Who's dat? DT rifles the man's pockets and finds a large jack knife and a gold watch with a gold chain.
Andreas moves to the unconscious man lying in the doorway at the south side of the living room. Blood from the two heavy wounds to his right shoulder, another to the left, and another through his ribs slowly creeps in a rivulet across the oak floor.
Doos uses strips torn from a shirt from the other room to tie Phineas up, while Gideon holds his shotgun on him. He's crudely bandaged articles of clothing wrapped around his abdomen, chest and neck. Phineas spits. So ya come in with the law, Gideon? Ya always were that kind a wussy coward when ya were a kid, suckin up ta the "good boys." And ya still are. Whar's that 25 bucks ya still owe me? Ah need it fer a headstone and a postage stamp fer a letter ta Ma. Gideon, a little shaky, replies, Ah repaid ya that money when ah paid off all the bad debts ya left around Waco and McLennan County. They was comin after Ma fer em. Phineas spits again. Boolsheet. Yer lyin in front of yer big friends, like ya done. Ya yella little mama's boy. Now Gideon spits, and it's a stream of tobacco juice. Well, it's true, Ma always like me better. Cause you always been mean as sin, Phineas. Since day one, and ah suppose right to now. Phineas replies, That's what yer gonna tell Ma? After ya see me swing? Gideon is quiet for a moment. Then he says, Yeah, a suppose, Phineas. Not in so many words. She knows ya done bad up in Kansas and Missoura, Phineas McLaury. And that ya probably been doing the same between thar and Texas. Ya broke the poor ole woman's heart. Phineas is silent for moment. Then he spits again on the floor and says, Gimme some a that chaw, little brother. Ah'm goin to meet mah maker before the week's done, ah reckon. And ah don't suppose He'll have purty words fer me. But maybe fer once somebody'll listen to mah side a the story. Gideon passes the shotgun to Doos and says, Keep him covered tight, Judge Doos, if ya would please. He takes a pinch of tobacco from the tin he carries in his coat pocket, goes over to bound Phineas and kneels. Open yer goldurn dirty stinky mouth! The hell if ah ever have to put another chaw yer er any other fool's cheek for em!
The riders quickly check the rooms of the house.

They're bare of furniture, but the rooms around the kitchen and living room have laid out bedrolls, blankets, and dirty men's clothing on the floor. There's a dead man in the southwest room with a single rifle shot through his heart. The ashen face bears a resemblance to the man DT trussed up. A rifle lies beside him, but his gun belt is empty. The northwest room has boxes of ammunition, pasteboard boxes, suitcases, and men's and women's clothing strewn around the floor. The men find five single action revolvers, two lever action rifles, a lever action carbine, and a double-action revolver (by Phineas) by the body, in the bloody spots in the doorways-- or kicked away across the floor. And in addition, paper, a pencil, and envelopes in the northeast bedroom and a skillet, coffee pot, half a ham, one and half loaves of bread in the kitchen, and one and a half bottoms of whiskey in the living room. And six empty bottle thrown into a corner.
We don't have William's post yet, but I wanted to move things along and consolidate after the long (in RL) time in combat. I expect William will be along at the house presently....
