Chapter 5 - Goblin Tracks
Re: Chapter 5 - Goblin Tracks
Gotcha. Then Angus will see to his wolf meat after he's gotten some healing, then maybe go visit Hellebore depending on what else happens today, if anything.
BTW, are we in the right thread for new actions?

Re: Chapter 5 - Goblin Tracks
Arnulf's hand flutters across his pallid forehead and comes to rest gingerly over his eyes. He sighs loudly, a small exclamation of pain escaping his lips at the end.enn.in.me wrote:Hopefully before Angus and Ilfrien depart, Yenny arrives at the inn. "Good morning all. Who can I help?"
"Don't...don't fret over little old me. I'll be fine, really."
He peeks from under his fingers, eyes alight.

Setting the names down before I roll the dice:
Arnulf 1x
Angus 2x
Hyde 2x
Healing
CLW [1d8] = 5
CLW [1d8] = 7
CLW [1d8] = 7
CLW [1d8] = 8
CLW [1d8] = 6
Hot dang Yenny must have done something right recently!
"I spoke at some length with the Captain. He his troubles which I don't think need to concern us, except in two ways. He can't provide any support--although he did suggest that we could hire some men-at-arms if we use the notice board down the road, and he thinks there may some people within the city guard who are in league with the goblins and orcs. He did say that a reward would be available if we could clean out the goblin hideout. I told him we'd bring back heads, but he actually suggested that the city council would go outside the walls and look at the place once it was emptied. Crazy. Anyway, we have been strongly encouraged to finish off the goblins, and with or without his encouragement, I would like to see them gone. You may not know this, but my people and the goblins have a bit of history, and none of it good. I'll be ready to go tomorrow."

Re: Chapter 5 - Goblin Tracks
That's a lot of healing!
So that's 5 points for Arnulf, 14 points for Angus, and 14 points for Hyde?

It's fine for now. I do like the town errands thread to be used for resupplying and the like to ensure that I have it all in one place. But healing, loot distribution, etc. is fine in this thread.Zhym wrote:Gotcha. Re: Chapter 5 - Goblin Tracks
The roomers in Guffy's common room sleep in, exhausted and recovering from their many wounds suffered yesterday. Yenny brings news of her meeting with Captain Castleman...and loads of healing. The night spend commiserating with the agents of Veles honed her skills. Arnulf is fully healed, the ugly wound on his forehead a memory. Angus feels much better, as does Hyde who isn't too far from full health.
Korok is still injured, but he quietly sleeps under a pile of blankets and was overlooked. Chet and Yenny still sport significant wounds.
Date: 28 Glowinghearth, Year 42
Time: 10:00
Conditions: Indoors
Known Spells in Effect: None
Light bearers: sun
Injuries: Hyde slightly wounded; Chet, Angus, Yenny moderately wounded; Korok seriously wounded

Re: Chapter 5 - Goblin Tracks
"Well, the Captain sounds like his usual helpful self," says Angus.
"I'm gonna go commune with the beats a mite m'self, and maybe try to keep an eye on what the goblins are up to. I got some meat gonna be ready in a day or so. Would someone pick it up for me and bring it when we meet in a couple of days?"
It sounds like we aren't going to be able to set out fully healed and with full spells for two more days. Angus can probably get the rest of his healing from Hellebore.

Re: Chapter 5 - Goblin Tracks
Yeahh, I'll bring it, Hyde nods; his infectious smile has returned after Yenny's ministrations. Never ate no wolf before, no, but I'm thinking that Hellebore can serve it up right. Angus, maybe you and Ilfrien can take Korok along with you to see our Hobbit, hah? He's been snoozing like a missile and missed out on all the healing. We be needing his sword arm strong when we sees them Goblins again, yeahh.
Re: Chapter 5 - Goblin Tracks
Chet watches Yenny heal the others, and falls back into bed when she finishes. "I have to stay here to rest. Let me know if you leave Alleborg please" is all he says, and minutes later he's back to sleep.
Re: Chapter 5 - Goblin Tracks
I couldn't actually remember who was hurt--but Yenny will be back tomorrow.
Re: Chapter 5 - Goblin Tracks
Ilfrien (best autocorrect yet--Lifeline) smiles. "I'll carry him out there if need be. Chet too. I'm eager to be back on the road."
Re: Chapter 5 - Goblin Tracks
We're probably better off relying on Yenny for the bulk of the healing. CLW is a 2nd level druid spell vs. 1st level for clerics, so Hellebore won't have as many spells as Yenny has. If "moderately wounded" means that Chet and Yenny are down about as many HP as Angus is, Angus and Chet (or Angus and Hyde) will probably use up all of Hellebore's healing ability. Heck, depending on how the rolls go, Angus could use up Hellebore's healing ability all on his own. It might be better to leave Korok in town and let Yenny throw all her healing spells at him tomorrow. If he still needs more healing after that, Hellebore might be able to take care of the rest.
Re: Chapter 5 - Goblin Tracks
Yenny might get bored if all her spells are devoted to healing. On the road, I've no real interest in simply being a healing robot. There are lots of other fun spells. In town, I'm more than happy to use Veles' blessing to fix us up.
Re: Chapter 5 - Goblin Tracks
I'm assuming we aren't going anywhere until everyone is healed up. So we'd have the following order of events:
Today: Having been mostly healed, Angus (and others TBD?) head out to the farmhouse for some more healing from Hellebore.
Tomorrow: Yenny loads up on healing, uses it on Korok, with leftovers going to whoever is still in town in need of healing. Everyone still in town joins Angus, Hellbore, & TBD at the farmhouse, where Hellebore heals anyone still needing healing.
Two days from now: Assuming everyone is fully healed, we head out to kick some more goblin butt.
Does that make sense?
BTW, how many of her spells is Yenny willing to devote to healing in the field? We had to cut our assault short in part because Angus and Korok became useless after being knocked unconscious. Without magical healing, they couldn't attack. We're heavy on fighters and light on healing at the moment. I don't know what kind of character Nuke66 is planning to run, but if it isn't a cleric, we should really think about trying to hire a cleric to travel with us.

Re: Chapter 5 - Goblin Tracks
Yenny had two healing spells with her, one at least of which she used on herself (and still feels guilty about). I think in general two leaves me with plenty of fun stuff to play with. I could be talked into three, maybe. I feel like we got unlucky or stupid or both last time, and in general can do better.
Re: Chapter 5 - Goblin Tracks
BTW, I'm usually at the front of the "clerics are not heal-bots" parade.
But AleBelly has that rule that a character can't engage in any combat (even ranged combat) after being unconscious until he gets 8 hours of sleep, so even with the first aid kits we really need some form of magical healing to keep people in the game.
It's not really fair to expect one cleric to keep an entirely party healed, either, which is why it would really help to have another cleric along.

Re: Chapter 5 - Goblin Tracks
FWIW, Arnulf is planning to buy a number of first aid kits before leaving and having them ready for the next outing. His aim is to throw spells, and be a back line medic of sorts - if he can get some
Potions and some first aid, he'll be more useful when things go south on us.

Re: Chapter 5 - Goblin Tracks
As it turns out, Angus has more first aid kits than he can use for a while. Only being able to use one kit per person per day means a few kits will do you for some time.
