Escape? - Round Two
The last norker growls in response to Wulfhart's bravado. Then trips over a sleeping comrade.
Wulfhart, Groyn and Gagel fall on it, hacking the norker into three bloody pieces.
Spectral hands choke a dead norker, while Eryndir dispatches those under the
Sleep spell.
The noise of the short battle echoes down the corridor. The adventurers wonder if other norkers will be alerted. The exit looms ahead 50'. Late afternoon sun shines in.

Agreed, Fingal. Let us make haste, says the elf(?) as he slaps his companion on the back and takes his rope.

Porphyry proceeds towards the exit, but hangs back to let the others pass through first, just in case there's an ambush.

Asherrion's ears, which recently have been growing smaller as his cranium enlarges, seem extra sensitive and he hears distant noises of more norkers.
The adventurers make haste out of the Caves of Chaos, keeping to underbrush as they slink out of the gorge. Cuthbert must be with them, as they escape with no further encounters. Though the sun is setting, they push on into the night to make it out of the woods and onto the road. Two days later they arrive back at the Keep.
It is dinner time; they head to the now-familiar Green Man and its welcome warmth, food, and drink.
It is crowded this hour with travelers and adventurers eating dinner, drinking, and being merry. Inside the tavern is surprisingly large - you realize the tavern extends west occupying the inside of the neighboring building. It is two-leveled, with the second floor balcony wrapping around and looking down on the first level. In one area two men spit fire for the entertainment of the crowd. In another room, decorated with a wall of skulls, comely dancers shimmy in front of entranced patrons. A few minstrels move about with lute and drum.
"Welcome boys, what will you have?" says a bar wench, her bountiful bosom heaving under a wet low cut-tunic that smells of spilled ale.

Gagel
"Oh yes, food and drink, more drink than food though. We live for the drink and the music. This world would be nothing without these two"

Porphyry, laying on the satyrine charm: "A loaf of bread, a jug of wine, and a moment to gaze into your eyes would be paradise enough for now."
As the words leave his mouth, it is clear that he doesn't have the native charm his people are known for, so he continues, "Also, a roast bird, a bucket of stew, and a hot bath. And a second jug of wine and a bed heaped with eiderdown. My companions are good for the bill."

"You got any elf meat?" asks Eryndir gruffly as he stares down the serving maid's top.

Asherrion looks at Eryndir and says, Now, now. Cannibalism is just rude.
And aside to the serving wench he says, If you do have it, give him the brains. A bit of kuru might do him good, and winks at her.

"How about some curried goat-arse?" asks Eryndir, casting a sideways look at Porphyry and licking his lips.

The adventurers settle in. Some order food, drink, or wonder about the sanity of companions. The bar keep announces it is a special night - a puppet show is to be presented!
Then...
