I think Migellito is temporarily AFK (or MIA, even; he hasn't logged onto US Forums since 4/14). Ron, you should NPC him until his return - straight-up fighter style, unless anyone else has other thoughts.

Till: swing and a miss
Yosef: tossed the torch; maybe not well enough
Bruard: swing and a hit for a bit of damage
Derek: miss and miss
Jeloon: AFK (please NPC)

Is there anything else you are waiting on us for, Mr. GM?

Day 15 – 1:08p
Round 1

Spiders… again.

Yosef is mortified to see the torch leave his hand but head left and to the side of the door. It’s still burning, but not at all where he intended it to be.

The spiders roll a [1d6] = 6 for initiative, then attack after Jeloon and Derek.

Derek misses with his sword, but Jeloon is able to connect with hers for 3HPs of damage.

The spiders attack and seem hapless in their attempts, except for the one in front of Bruard. That spider is viciously efficient and is able to sink his fangs in for 4HPs of damage. ToniXX please roll a d20

Till misses with his short sword. But the war cleric lets out a mighty, somewhat pained, yell and connects.

Derek misses with his second attack, but Jeloon is able to connect again with her long sword, hitting for 8HPs damage to the spider in front of her, killing it.

Round 2 is upon you. ToniXX please roll a save vs. poison. There is a spider in front of Bruard, Alethan, and Derek. Someone please roll initiative, declare actions and make your rolls for the actions. Jeloon and Derek get one attack each this round and those will go off with party initiative.

HPs: Jeloon - 22/29; Till - 33/36; Yosef - 9/10; Bruard - 11/19; Derek - 32/40
WIH: Till: short sword (15' radius light); Jeloon: Longsword (20' radius light), shield; Derek: Longsword (20' radius light), shield; Yosef: bow and arrow [or long sword]; Bruard: Mace, shield; Van: +1 ogre spear, shield; Eyman: +1 Battle Axe, shield
MO: 1- Jeloon & Derek; 2- Till; 3- Bruard & Eyman; 4- Ancor, Rosin, DAMs; 5- Yosef & Van
Consumables: Lantern - (Till) 2 hours, 25 minutes left (off), 30' radius; Torch, 59 minutes (Yosef/ground), 40' radius; Torch, 60 minutes (off), 40' radius.
--------Spells: Yosef: 1-0/2, 2-1/1; Bruard: 1-4/5, 2-4/4
This is a game about killing things and taking their stuff so you can become more powerful in order to kill bigger things and take even better stuff.
Alethan: I'm good with NOT pressing our luck this time.
mjulius: That's how I know I'm home.
Pulpatoon: The whole point of PbP is to take the scheduling pressure off the game. We're just chatty because we're so eager!
Scott308: ...everyone should be reminded of just how wonderful the people they play games with here can be in real life.
Leitz: Quality and quantity wise, I think US is the best I've seen.
Paladin: I can promise terror, glory, and riches...or a quick and brutal death.
Inferno: Come on! That's was Vicar's Head, a completely different doomed village!
Rex: I can move to the wait list to let someone else into the game.

Till swings away at the spider in front of him with his shining short sword...

To Hit, Shortsword+1 [1d20+1] = 20+1 = 21

Damage, Shortsword+1 (Small/Medium) [1d6+1] = 1+1 = 2

Bruard brings his mighty mace down again:

Mace (sm/m) damage [1d6+1] = 2+1 = 3, thaco18-[1d20] = 6 hits AC 12

Even though he made his save, the poison affected him a little, I guess.

Disgusted by the fact that he cannot seem to throw a torch with 2 free hands a mere matter of feet without mucking it up, Yosef draws his longsword in anger. Seeing that three of his companions are currently each engaged with a spider, the elf makes for the only unengaged spider that came out of the structure. He swings his sword with extreme malice and prejudice...

Finally shaking off the soporific effects of the spider venom from earlier, Jeloon attacks the nearest spider!

Magic Longsword Attack: [1d8+3] = 6+3 = 9 damage | [1d20+1] = 11+1 = 12 from thaco16 = AC4

Magic Longsword Attack: [1d8+3] = 1+3 = 4 damage | [1d20+1] = 1+1 = 2 from thaco16 = AC doh! natural 1

Day 15 – 1:09p
Round 2

Spiders… still. :)

The spiders roll a [1d6] = 4 for initiative.

The spiders miss attacks on Till and Derek, but the one in front of Bruard seems to have his number and is able to sink his fangs in again for another 4HPs of damage. ToniXX please roll a d20 – again. Pained by the wound, but he also feels the spider venom trying to stiffen his muscles.

Till hits with his short sword this time. His spider is hurt but still able to attack.

The mighty mace of the war cleric misses the spider

Jeloon is able to connect with her long sword and kill the spider in front of Bruard.

Derek hits the spider in front of him, killing it.

Yosef is able to draw his long sword and kill the spider in front of Till!!

The party is becoming dab hands at spider killing!

Unfortunately I still need ToniXX to roll a save vs. poison. There are no more spiders… here anyway. And the round is finished. Updated HPs below.

HPs: Jeloon - 22/29; Till - 33/36; Yosef - 9/10; Bruard - 7/19; Derek - 32/40
WIH: Till: short sword (15' radius light); Jeloon: Longsword (20' radius light), shield; Derek: Longsword (20' radius light), shield; Yosef: bow and arrow [or long sword]; Bruard: Mace, shield; Van: +1 ogre spear, shield; Eyman: +1 Battle Axe, shield
MO: 1- Jeloon & Derek; 2- Till; 3- Bruard & Eyman; 4- Ancor, Rosin, DAMs; 5- Yosef & Van
Consumables: Lantern - (Till) 2 hours, 25 minutes left (off), 30' radius; Torch, 58 minutes (Yosef/ground), 40' radius; Torch, 60 minutes (off), 40' radius.
--------Spells: Yosef: 1-0/2, 2-1/1; Bruard: 1-4/5, 2-4/4

OOC: Bruard needs to get some healing!
Till picks the torch up and hands it back to Yosef with a shrug. "You did well with the sword, Yosef!" Till says with a smile. He hops over the patch of oil (or climbs in through the window, if that proves too difficult), and prods at the overturned barrel to make sure there are no more spiders within. Then he uses his sword to poke at the webs above, looking for more spiders and anything of interest. He examines the entire room thoroughly, after he's certain all of the spiders have been killed.

When he's done with this room, Till will go back to the previous room and examine the upright barrel there. He'll start with the outside, checking to make sure there aren't any signs of something bad inside (hints of yellow mold or green slime residue or whatever) before he even attempts to open it.

Another post lost due to work internet going kaput!
There's nothing esle but animal bones, webs and broken furniture to be found.
The upright barrel has rainwater in it, but it smells rank. The other barrel has just some animal bones in it.
The spiders continue to amaze with their treasures! ;)

Disappointed, Till returns to the group with empty hands.

"So... do we tackle the tower next? Or should we go back and examine that northern building more closely first?"

OOC: Will be AFK until Sunday evening, folks. Have a great weekend!
