Solaine actually recognizes the bearded head of Turms Termax, though the statues she is flanked by in the entrance seem otherwise to be representations of Tenen and Caint.

Tychon the Scout (explorer) (6/6)

Tychon tucks his sling through his belt, lays a torch on the ground and strikes his flint and steel to set the torch alight.
After returning his flint and steel to his pouch and recovering the now lit torch, he draws his sword and takes a look to make sure nothing has snuck up behind them.

Torgyr claps his hands together and rubs them briskly. He starts to move slowly around the room, methodically checking the doors as he reaches them, having a listen, checking for traps.

When he arrives at the open corridors, he approaches carefully from the side, bending down a bit lower and peeking around the corner to see.

"Which way to go, comrades?"

Solaine eyes the doors suspiciously. "Before we start opening doors, perhaps we should see what is down that passageway." She points to the east.

Checking for traps takes a full 10 minutes, though you can listen at the doors more quickly.

Glancing about the chamber, but recognizing none of the statues, Frederico motions towards Solaine, "I agree with her. The open way ees the path of leest resistance."

Location: Entrance Chamber

Solaine, Frederico and Ranulf begin moving to the east, checking out the rest of the room. Their torchlight reveals that the room continues an additional 20 feet to the east. In the northeast corner, they see another statue of a bearded man, this time holding a reaper's scythe. In the Southeast corner, there is a 10 foot deep alcove with a door. The passage north extends 10 feet to another door, bringing the total to 4 exits, north, south, east and west.

Solaine is brought up short, however, when she notices that the third statue along the north wall is very clearly (to her) a statue of Mavors, whose head has been replaced by one of Turms Termax. It occurs to her that all of these are statues of the gods, defaced with Turms' head.

Meanwhile, Torgyr is listening at the west door. He hears sounds, coming from a distance. It sounds like a lot of grunting, maybe some talking but he can't be sure. He definitely hears the squeal of a pig...

Solaine's knuckles grow white as she grips the hilts of her swords tighter. Stay calm, she thinks. Remember why you are here.

"Turms indeed had much to answer for," she mutters. "At least the wrath of Mavors was visited upon him in the end."

She heads over to Torgyr to see what he has heard.

Torgyr motions to the others to join him at the door.

"Happy pig farmers? I doubt it. Hide those torches around the corner to reduce the light we throw. Then I'll open the door and take a peek. Perhaps we can catch them unawares. Throw a few bolts into them before they know what's happening. That is, if they're not happy pig farmers."

Ok... :) The original plan had involved looking for traps on the door... is that still on?

Who, besides Torgyr will be looking through the door as opposed to beside it, or away from it? You mention bolts, so the dwarves?

Yes, Torgyr would check for traps before attempting to open the door.

The comment about bolts wasn't Torgyr directing who does what...it was more him throwing ideas out and seeing what the rest of the party wants to do. He meant bolts in the generic sense of "missile fire."

Search Turn: Steel will join in the search for traps and false doors and the like. He's waddle his way to the front to join Torgy in his checking. Two sets of eyes are better than one!

Alright. I'll try to run this tomorrow night. We've got Torgyr and Steel checking out the door and opening it, Solaine backing them up, Typhon and Ranulf moved away from the door to reduce light. Anything else?

Ranulf wil move back around the corner and try to shield the light. Once it sounds like fighting has started he will charge around the corner.

Torgyr and Steel set to work examining the western door carefully for trapsor other strange stonework. They find that the door is fairly heavy, reinforced with iron, and it opens into this room. The hinges seem unremarkable, and the door is made to swing open and rest against the south wall of the room. It does not appear to be trapped.

Tychon stays back near the stairs with Ajax, and Ranulf goes down to the southern part of the room, where he stands next to the female statue. As he waits, he notes that he recognizes the female statue. This female statue is holding her crossed fingers up in the universal "good luck" position, and she seems to be holding a set of dice. This is the gambler's best friend, seen in every gambling hall, Tyche. She seems to be wearing some other, much more serious lady's head, though. Tyche is usually seen smiling.

Torgyr opens the door cautiously and peers through. Though he can tell that there is a hallway extending to the west, he can't see much without a light. It is totally dark down this hallway. For a moment, the grunting continues, then, from some distance to the down the corridor, a piggy squeal goes up, and the grunting conversation stops, and you hear some rapid moving around from some distance down the corridor. You (or at least your light) has been spotted!

I moved Tychon forward a bit, just so everybody would be visible, and so you could see a little bit of the corridor, which is very, very dark. Good idea, btw. I gave the things down the hall only a small chance to spot your light, and they did.
