Chapter 5 - Goblin Tracks

"I'll be ready to leave as soon as I get this thing prepped as rations and its pelt made into a new cloak. I could use some training time, but I need coin for that first. Let's inform the guard, or the captain, and be gone somewhere we can find profit."

I don't think I'll be going anywhere tomorrow, no, the bedraggled Hyde mumbles. I think maybe I'll wait to meet with Captain Castleman until tomorrow, yeah. All I want right now is some tea and some sleep. I don't think them Goblins will cause much fuss tonight, we hit 'em pretty hard. They probably be having a meeting, all jumping and snorting and beating their chests, trying to decide what to do next. Maybe they believe them Orcs sent us, hah?

Chet stands at the gate. "Arnulf looks pretty bad. I'm going to stay with him. I think we can rest at Guffy's. Hyde, will you tell the Captain everything about the goblin lair?"

"I'll do that Chet. I'm headed straight there. If any of you want to come by my temple tomorrow, I can share some healing. I'll see the rest of you the morning after, and we can head out to the old farm to find Hellebore and anybody else out there."

"I reckon I may actually go into town," says Angus. "Might get me some of that healing Yenny mentioned."

"Y'all might want to think about hiring another healer, too, if all our trips ain't going to be as short as that one."

Looking to Angus and then the others, Hellebore adds, "I also will heal others on the morrow, which is why we best not depart until the second sunrise. If anyone is with me at the cabin, that is."

OK, so I have the following destinations for players (feel free to change):

Yenny - to see the Cap'n tonight then to temple
Hellebore - newly abandoned farmhouse with Rrkox and Redfang
Chet, Ilfrien, Hyde, Angus, Arnulf - Six Steps from the Gutter
Korok - not declared

I will update tomorrow, probably in late afternoon. Let me know if there are any changes. Each player gains 1d3 HP per 24 hours of virtually complete rest if fed. Yenny and Hellebore have demonstrated the ability to heal.

Arnulf will be at the Six Steps, but if need be he'll seek out healing from Yenny, but only after she's looked after more wounded than he.

Although he only has 1 hp left, he only has 5 in total, so the likelihood of him healing naturally is...good? Ish? I'd rather someone who needs it more take advantage.

"After we've rested up, I'd like to talk to Aphoz and see if he can point me towards someone who can sell us some potions. I'll also go and grab some first aid kits."

He leans towards Ilfrien and speaks lowly. "Did you want to borrow some coin? I have that extra that someone left me. Maybe you could make better immediate use of it than me?"

Ilfrien chortles. "Keep your cash and buy yourself a couple new pairs of trousers--it seems like you'll need them more than I'll need more training." She hefts the wolf carcass up on to one shoulder and makes her way into the city to find herself a good butcher and a leatherworker.

Once he's feeling well enough, Arnulf will seek out Aphoz' advice on where to procure healing potions.

Closing out this thread. Since none of the items recovered from the goblin armory are magical, I'll assume the party tries to sell the items. Unfortunately, the Alleborg armory will only buy the 8 short swords from the party - the goblin leather is too small for Alleborg warriors, and the other items are of no interest. That leaves the party with

If everyone's OK with an even split, that gives each member 4 gp and 21 sp. Please update your sheets unless you want to split things differently.

The party splits as they enter the gate. Hellebore takes her unruly wolf to the abandoned farm house and Rrkox follows. Yenny heads to visit the Captain then plans to visit her temple. She will need to visit Guffy's to heal the others the following day - those resting can do very little other than lie about if they are to heal naturally.

The six others head to Six Steps from the Tavern. The streets are crowded, but the townsfolk are taken aback by the ghastly sight of the bloodied adventures and give our heroes a wide berth.

28 Glowinghearth

Those in the common room sleep as best they can after a night of whiskey, ale, milk and tea. Rolling over onto injured tissue wakes some, and Hyde's snoring doesn't help the matter. The next morning, Angus and Ilfrien prepare to depart, while Hyde, Korok, Chet and Arnulf decide to rest and nurse their injuries. Guffy promises to check in on them and bring them meals as needed. With no festivals going on, they have the common bunk room upstairs from the tavern to themselves.

When Hyde flipped Guffy the gp for tea, he paid for the group for the night and covered rations for the 28th

Hopefully before Angus and Ilfrien depart, Yenny arrives at the inn. "Good morning all. Who can I help?"

"Hell, I ain't proud," says Angus, "but I sure am hurtin'. I'll take all the healing you can spare!"

"How'd the audience with His Officiousness go?"
